Well equipped, clean and comfortable accommodation with a welcoming host - thoroughly recommended. Ideal spot for walking into town, supermarket, local sightseeing trips (Giverny etc.) and further afield (Rouen)

My husband and I stayed at this property for 3 nights and absolutely loved it! It was very romantic and cozy! The property was very clean and had everything you would need for a perfect stay. The pictures on the website were accurate. It was our favorite property in our 2 week stay in France. Highly recommend!

My partner and I stayed here for 3 days to meet some friends in Giverney. The Lodge is very well maintained and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent as stated before, with a very short walk to the station, where as well as trains you can get a shuttle bus to Giverney for 4 euros each way. Vernon is a nice little town, quite sleepy in the evening (well mid week in late September it was!) but we had some nice meals at L'Envie and Le Capitinaire (or something like that-book a table with a river view) for circa 25 euros for 3 courses which we thought was very reasonable for the quality of food. All in all a very pleasant stay.

This Property was much better than I expected. The location is perfect! The train to Paris and beyond is a 4 minute walk. (45 minutes to Paris on the train) The Farmers Market is on Saturday and Wednesday mornings. It was wonderful. This is a great walking town. A few minute drive to Giverny to see Monet's garden. Very god restaurants. The owner is very helpful. This house is perfect for two people. There is a pull out couch in the living area for extra people. The kitchen is equipped nicely.

Nous avons passé 3 superbes journées à Vernon, dans cette petite maison située au bout du jardin des propriétaires, des gens charmants, anglophones d'origine mais maîtrisant suffisamment le français pour être pleins de bons conseils! Une entrée indépendante avec places de parkings toujours libres juste en face. Confortable, propre, déco sympa, 4 couchages pour des personnes qui s'entendent bien (2 lits en 140). Région magnifique à découvrir pour ces paysages adorables (Giverny entre autres..) et ses nombreux sites culturels (château de Bizy, château de La Roche-Guyon, et en poussant un peu, les ruines de l'abbaye de Jumièges, magnifique !). Il nous reste encore beaucoup de choses à visiter, nous reviendrions au Lodge avec grand plaisir!

We had 3 lovely days at the lodge. The property is gorgeous and contained everything we needed. Pam and Nigel are great hosts. The location was ideal for a day trip by train to Paris and a visit to Monet's spectacular gardens. We chose to walk to the garden, but there is also a shuttle bus from the station. There is no off-street parking at the lodge, but there was ample free parking nearby.

We had a wonderful stay at The The Gardner’s Lodge in Vernon. Nigel and Pam are great and made us feel so welcome. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. It looks just like the pictures. If we are back in this area, we will definitely stay here again.

The Gardner’s Lodge worked especially well for us during our 3-week stay. The Lodge was comfortable with a nice patio area between our cottage and an identical cottage facing ours. The appliances were modern and the furnishings worked effectively and tastefully with the design and historical nature of the Lodge. We had everything we needed for our stay. We drove from Paris CDG to Vernon, about a one hour+ drive on a Sunday morning. We easily explored Vernon by foot and took day-trips to visit nearby sites and even further afield places such as Caen, Etretat, Honfleur, the Normandy beaches, Mont-St-Michel, and drove the Route du Cidre. We cooked about two-thirds of our dinners at home using produce/fish/meats/bread purchased at the local markets or at the Wednesday/Saturday markets in Vernon. The owners (Nigel and Pam) were extremely welcoming and helpful with their suggestions for places to visit. We would gladly recommend this place to anyone wanting a similar experience and actually did so to folks we met at the airport on our way back to the U.S.

We stayed in the Gardner's Lodge in the fall and used it as a base to visit Giverny and other Normandy sites. It is an easy 45 minute train ride into Paris and the Lodge is just blocks from the train station and the center of Vernon so you can easily walk everywhere. Nigel and Pamela are great hosts with lots of helpful ideas and suggestions. Make sure you check out the Rose bakery in the village center. We would highly recommend this property.

We quite enjoyed our time at the Gardeners Lodge. It is exactly as described, clean, lovely, and with a short walk to town, Giverny, and up the street to the local market, we spent a lot down time relaxing after long days walking. It's easy to get to and from Paris and a great alternative to staying in a busy city. Thank you!

What a wonderful place and a terrific relaxing week. The unit is beautiful, very comfortable and makes you feel at home. As with most things the personal relationships make all the difference, and the owners Nigel and Pam are two very kind, helpful and generous people. They made our stay even more enjoyable than we could of expected. They are delightful people and we hope to see them again on another visit to Vernon or if they ever come our way. Pam graciously met us at the train when we arrived in Vernon. She helped us get settled in and also pointed us in the direction of a market and also a place for dinner that first evening. We also ran into her on the train to Paris one day and she graciously gave us a lesson on the Paris bus system. She is just a delight. We also joined them both for a walk thru the Saturday market in Vernon. it is a great market and a must see if you stay here. Vernon itself is a beautiful little town and worth exploring. The town is so centrally located and very easy to get from here to Paris or other locations like Rouen or Normandy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy the smaller French towns but still easy access to Paris. Delightful place to stay with equally delightful owners

My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend in Vernon staying at the Gardner's Lodge. The property was exactly as advertised, clean and the area around it was peaceful. Their is a grocery store a couple of blocks away and we were able to cook most of our time there. Several blocks in the other direction is the town center where you will find Cafes and small shops. We had breakfast there one morning before walking to Giverny - it was a dream come true. The owners were helpful and attentive, we highly recommend staying here.

My daughter, granddaughter, and I stayed in Gardner's Lodge for our final week in France. After two weeks of sightseeing in London and Paris, we were ready to relax in a quieter place. Vernon was the perfect town for us. It's only a few minutes by car to Giverny, and I understand there's a walking path as well. We had a rental car, but it would also work not to have a car and just take day trips to Paris via the train, which stops two blocks from the Lodge. The shops, restaurants, and Saturday outdoor market are charming, and even in August there weren't hoards of people as there had been in Paris. The actual Lodge matches the photos--no disappointing surprises as we've sometimes had-- and Nigel and Pam couldn't have been more welcoming. Our only regret was that we couldn't have stayed longer.

Spent four nights at this property at the end of may. Our hosts were very pleasant and non-intrusive. Everything was as advertised. The upstairs bedroom may be tough for folks getting on in years or with mobility issues. We just left our luggage downstairs. Also the tub was a bit of a challenge and had no shower curtain. Great access to Giverny and Les Andelys; as well as Paris. Restaurants and stores are close by. Clean and well maintained. An iron and ironing board would have been nice to have. Great fit for what we needed and an excellent property!

I recently spent a portion of my annual May trip to France at the Gardener's Cottage and wish I had stayed longer. The location, proximity to Paris, Giverny and Normandy in general could not have been any better. The photos of the cottage only hint at the charm, and the owners exceed it. I will definitely be returning for a longer stay soon.

I spent nearly a month at the Gardener’s Lodge this spring, using it as my home base to explore Giverny, Paris, and Normandy. I found the Gardener’s Lodge to be a welcoming and lovely place to reside during my adventures in France! The owners Nigel and Pam are English speaking, which helped me with orientation to my new environment. Nigel met me at the train station in Vernon, and explained quite carefully everything I would need to understand about the lodge and Vernon. Pam showed up with food for my dinner that first night as I had arrived on a Sunday evening, and the grocery stores were closed. The Gardener’s Lodge is equipped with everything I needed during my stay. The website photos are accurate, and capture the charm of the setting. I also enjoyed listening to the cooing of the doves that live in the big trees on the property. I was very thankful of having Nigel and Pam nearby to ask questions about situations that puzzled me, like a closed train station on Pentecost….I had no idea that day was a national holiday! I had the trip of a lifetime exploring this part of France. Having the Gardener’s Lodge as a home base is what made this all possible for me. Vernon is an enchanting village, with a wonderful outdoor market, museum, and cathedral. Being near Giverny was why I chose to reside in Vernon during my trip. I was able to visit Monet’s Garden once per week and see the progression of flowers during my time in France. There was also an Impressionist’s Exposition in several cities in Normandy (Giverny, Rouen, Le Havre, and Caen) during my stay, and I visited them all! I visited the picturesque village of Honfleur and enjoyed the mirror reflections of its boat basin. I was also able to visit Mount St Michel, the medieval abbey on the coast of Normandy. I took the train into Paris nine times from Vernon. It is easy and inexpensive (28 euros round trip) to do. It is just a short walk from the Gardener’s lodge over to the train station. The train is direct and fast into Gare St. Lazare train station in Paris with easy connections by bus and metro around the city. I felt that I had seen everything that interested me to discover in Paris and Normandy. And I was able to have all these adventures from a comfortable and friendly home base.

We had a wonderful time on our stay in Vernon with Nigel and Pamela.The accomodations were well represented and upon our arrival we found them even better than we expected.Clean,comfortable and convient to supermarkets,train station,restaurants and sight seeing.Vernon has a number of interesting attractions and Giverny was within walking distance.We only wish we could have stayed longer but our time spent as "locals" was what we wanted,We would recommend this property to anyone who wishes a relaxing stay in France,
