Any day at the beach is a good day and this cottage is right on the beach. Plenty of rooms, bathrooms and nice decks. But this cottage has serious safety issues! Three levels and no working smoke alarms. Crib is unusable (I had to buy one our first night for my grandson). Walkway to beach is dangerous: railings are broken and walkway has been unsuccessfully patched. No hot water in kitchen. Outside railings are splinter city. Floor is collapsing in front of sliding glass door on second level. Popcorn ceilings are falling down. Window sills are peeling. No screens in most windows. Top floor has AC unit in front bedroom but it doesn't work. Back left burner on stove doesn't work. This place could be awesome but it needs serious work and a lot of TLC!

Good location with a large home near the Pier with a nice beach. The house could use some maintenance.

Great location and beach access. Very large open space for family time. Kitchen well stocked if you like to cook in. Plenty of parking. Short walk to pier for fishing or happy hour. Lots of puzzles and games. Great outdoor shower keeps the sand outside. House needs TLC. Things very dated. If that bothers you then I would go elsewhere. All in all a lot of bang for the buck.

My family enjoyed our vacation at Presidential Boardwalk. It had everything my family enjoys, though hot tub could use a new lid. The Staff at Shoreline OBX were extremely helpful. Great place to enjoy the beach.

Our 3rd stay and it works great for us and our dog. Easy walk to the beach and to the pier. The house is huge. It is clean and functional. Everything we want or need in a beach house. The rental company folks are awesome. We would stay here again

Six bedrooms, six bathroom (2 half) and two refrigerators was the big plus for this home. That suited our needs well! However, one of the bedrooms was unusable due to two of the beds being so broke down. They sloped down so bad you could not lay on them without rolling towards the floor. We reported a strong odor of dog urine near the entry, which they sent over someone to shampoo the carpet quickly to rectify the situation. The home has plaster falling of ceilings, which I can handle, just an eyesore. But the worst part to take was cockroaches, seen them the second day and reported it. Took a couple days to get someone over there to spray. But that was so unsettling knowing we had little ones crawling around and fearing we would drag these home to our own homes. The walk back from the beach is quite tough if you're carrying beach gear. Very narrow, splinters from boards, steep incline.
We have rented many years at OBX and have rented “basic” homes but never called with an issue before, so this was my first time with issues like this. We will return to our favorite beach, but will not rent this home again.

This house has a great view in the morning of the sunrise from the upper deck! Amazing way to start the day. Overall, the house is an older home that could use some TLC. We spent the first half of our arrival day cleaning and reorganizing the kitchen but then settled into a relaxing week. The outside shower is one of the best features. The vacuums (there were 5 in the house) smelled like old vacuum and worked only marginally. The wifi went out one day but the wifi provider- located in KDH- was so responsive and fixed it the same day while we were at the beach. Shoreline was also great about resolving some other minor issues we had at check in.

This house is large with plenty of beds. Love that it comes with sheets and towels for all beds. Lots of living space in kitchen - living area. Minus one star this trip as we had a terrible problem with flys this year. The outside trash bins had maggots when we arrived and stunk to high heavens, I'm sure due to previous occupant throwing away food on their last day and trash pick up was not until Monday, 2 days away. We stayed 1st week of Sept and the house definitely needs a through cleaning, that said I would still rent this house again.

You can't beat the short walk to the ocean, the decks overlooking the ocean were put to good use, very relaxing in the hot tub, The house was clean the open second floor was great for hanging with family and then being able to go to your own room for quiet time was nice with so many bathrooms no one had to wait ;) I would definitely rent again!

Everything was great about this home great location, great space, was able to have our own space for a little downtime.
The only downfall was there was alot of stairs, so definitely not for anyone not able to walk the stairs mother in law of 75yrs old had some difficulty and the beds especially the ground level definitely need replaced or some kind of topper put on them as well as the upstairs rooms I have vascular disease so my legs were definitely in bad condition by fourth day in extremely swollen and in pain from blood vessels bursting from not being elevated properly. But all in all great location and lil ones had a good time would stay here again but would definitely take some of my comforts from home!

Beach house
It was a great house with lots of added bonuses(crock pot, hand towels, beach toys, etc) I would recommend this house. Only downside was the beds on the first floor off of the Cameroon were not very comfortable.

The location of this house, with the proximity to the beach, the pier, and nags head was wonderful. Unfortunately, that's where the pleasantry ended. We arrived on Saturday only to find that the air conditioner was broken. We reached out to maintenance via email and phone multiple times and did not hear anything until Sunday. Maintenance did tell us that the AC unit was waiting on parts and they did come onsite on Sunday to temporarily put a window AC unit in the bedrooms. The AC tech came out on Tuesday to fix the unit. We also called Maintenance to report that the refrigerator was leaking water, this was never completely fixed and the carpet around the refrigerator was wet all week and was unable to make ice. We also had to call maintenance on 3 different days to come out to fix 3 different toilets in this unit, a few multiple times.
We also noted that plaster is falling off of the ceiling, the beds are uncomfortable, the upstairs shower curtain is simply sitting on the tile (not attached to anything), bathroom floor in the basement is uneven (literally feels like it is sinking) and there is a hole in the wall on the stairs. 4 of the smoke and CO2 detectors stopped working during the week. The walkway out to the beach was missing nails, causing a few cut toes and splinters, and rusted nails are exposed as well.
I would NOT recommend this property to anyone until the owner puts some TLC into the unit.

Great for the price!
Nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable. Queen sheets must have been irregulars, because none of them fit the beds securely.

Great get away!
Everything was great except we paid for a 1:00 check in but the cleaning service was just starting to clean when we arrived a little after 1:00. Besides that bump in the road, the stay was wonderful.

Presidential Boardwalk
We were very disappointed in this house. Although the website described it as older & rustic, the house & furnishings were very outdated. The house did not appear very clean or sanitized. When we arrived, there was a terrible smell & it was coming from the infant high chair. Thank goodness one of our daughters & her family could not come so none of us had to stay on the 1st floor which we nicknamed the dungeon. The outdoor shower was not useable & there was trash & kids toys on the ground on Oceanside. The area between parking area & house was overgrown & needed mowing. We reported to maintenance & someone did come same day, but did not correct either situation. We saw & killed several roaches in the house. The upstairs deck even though recently replaced did not have dog gate reinstalled as described on website. We will not rent this house again.

The middle and lower section leaked water from the rain. Called maintenance and they came out. They need to cut the grass or at least make it where it's not coming out over the side walk. The vacuum doesnt work great, and there was no dust pan. It would be nice to have the walkway going to the beach redone, my mother in law had a hard time going to and from the beach. It's not like the picture on the website. Other than that the stay was ok.

Location is excellent but the condition of the property and furnishings were disappointing. We knew it was an older rental but thought it would be much cleaner. The kitchen was stocked very well I was surprised at the amount of culinary utensils available. This house has excellent bones but needs a lot of refurbishing. All in all we did enjoy our stay!

2nd time we have stayed at this house. It is not fancy or decadent like some houses but it is homey and comfortable and it worked great with the dog. We even met the owners who said they are going to redo the kitchen which would be good as it is pretty small. We had a great time with no issues at all.

This house was an enjoyable big family beach house for us - 8 adults, 8 children. It is an older facility- mirror image duplexes converted to become one larger home - and it’s showing it’s age, but we didn’t mind- except for the sliding doors upstairs which no longer seal and wind whistles through them - we had to wedge towels in cracks to be able to sleep. We let property mgmt know about spongey spots in the basement floor under the carpet and kitchen cabinet paint peeling which they say will be addressed in the off-season. Numerous loose and broken deck pickets were promptly repaired, which we appreciated it has lots of dinnerware and silverware which we were grateful for, and ample seating and tables for eating, games and puzzles, including two picnic tables on the covered deck. Boogie boards and sand toys were enjoyed and the full size spare fridge just inside the entrance door, was very helpful to hold large amounts of food for a big clan. We enjoyed the Aquarium, Scammell’s Ice Cream, Whalebone Park, Fort Raleigh, and hunkering down at the house during high wind days and teaching all the kids to play chess!

Great Place!
This was a great oceanfront property for the price! We had some trouble with the upstairs fridge but the staff was pleasantly responsive. Unfortunately we were 3 days without the kitchen fridge, but fortunately we had an extra one on the first floor. Overall great place and would stay again.

Great location! The house had a lot of space and very comfortable. Views from the main living area are limited due to the dunes and outdoor shower. The green space on the driveway side really needs mowed on a regular basis to minimize wildlife and the thistles getting stuck in shoes / feet.

Wonderful location however this property is not at all well maintained or clean. Property Management company had to be contacted multiple times regarding cleanliness (if I could attach pictures I would). Disappointing Shoreline OBX allowed this or manages this property this way.

The house almost was perfect for our needs. Lots of space right on the water. It is dated, could use some TLC but more than that it needs a deep cleaning. I spent the first 2 days cleaning. Not the way to start a vacation, much less your 60th birthday. That being said, the house is a typical old beach house, fairly well equipped (bring a corkscrew). You can see where they are upgrading items and working on it. It just needs to be cleaned. Would stay again if early arrival was included, just to clean. Putting yes I would recommend, but with a caveat, ask for free early arrival to clean.

Disappointing. There are no views of the ocean except for from the upper deck, which must be accessed from a bedroom or scary stairway. There is no dune deck. Send a maintenance guy with a hammer to knock in the many nails popping out of the decking. Tell the owner to buy a hose. We brought our own, so we were able to wash the windows, deck and beach stuff. Grill is nice

This house is in a perfect location! Short walk to the Outer Banks fishing pier. The beach is a quick walk outside and never crowded. The view from the hot tub is beautiful! Inside some furnishing are a little old/outdated and the appliances are older but functional. Great value for the money

We enjoyed the size of the house and the location just fine. The house needed a deep cleaning. Yes the toilets were clean but the floorboards and light fixtures were filthy. There are nails sticking up on the decks that several of us stepped on during the week. The fridge was leaking inside it and pooling in the bottom. A downstairs sink was also leaking badly underneath. The house needs painted all over in the inside as well. Grass was crazy on the walkways and yard as well as sand covering almost the whole boardwalk. Lamps didn't have bulbs or just didnt work in a few of the bedrooms as well. All three sliders are rusted and falling apart and very difficult to open because of that.

just a few houses down from the outer banks pier which had live music most nights. It was very nice to sit in the hot tub and listen to the music at night while watching the waves. the house itself could use some TLC... all of the sliding doors going to the patios were very hard to open/close...maybe some WD40.. One of the handles on a sliding glass door was loose. The bedroom furniture was a bit old, the drawers would fall out at times.. The walk from the house to the beach was a bit overgrown with plants and weeds. The game room downstairs with the game table was VERY nice! Shortly after we arrived, we noticed one of the AC units wasn't working. Someone came to repair this within a few hours of reporting it, no issues after that. I noticed a few reviews that mentioned bugs in the house, we saw none. Overall, it was very nice and relaxing.

Stove not usable when we arrived. Could not use dish washer due to missing wheel on lower rack. Upstairs deck railing needs repair. Several receptacles did not work. Many light bulbs burned out. Sliding doors very hard to open or close. Not as clean as it should have been ( furniture very dusty, beads from broken jewelry on the floor, etc). My wife and I spent many years in the motel, resort business and we have done all the jobs from management on is obvious the people that are in these units on a regular basis are not checking for or reporting issues.

This house is a great location if you enjoy listening to live music every night without actually leaving the deck. We had a wonderful time every day of our stay!! Love obx!
