Stayed here with extended family during our son’s wedding weekend @ Ghost Hill Cellars. The house is gorgeous and accurately described in the listing. Perfect location for easy access to Main St. in Carlton (walking distance). Melissa was very pleasant to coordinate with and was quick to respond to all our requests prior to the weekend. We could not have asked for more. Highly recommend!

The property is gorgeous and was super-clean when we arrived. The Dining & Living rooms are very large, if dimly lit, & the couch in the Living Room is really comfy. The foosball corner is a bit cramped.
The Master by the garage is large & has its own thermostat, and the Dining Room has a separate wall heater; the rest of the house is on the central heat/air unit. The Master beside the driveway is HUGE! The bedroom across the hall is small and has just a small closet, while the "front" bedroom has a closet & a built-in dresser, so more storage than the other one.
The kitchen has lots of plates & bowls, as well as spices that others have left behind (check before you go shopping). Food prep utensils (measuring cups & spoons, for example) were hit-and-miss - though there were three pizza cutters! The electric Jenn-Air oven & cooktop gave us some trouble (it took a long time for the water to boil on the triple-burner, and an instruction manual for the oven would have been a great help), as did the stainless steel pans (which my son uses at his home, but these seemed to stick a lot).
You should probably know that your pet can't roam free (no fence on 2 sides of the yard), the Theater Room can't be darkened (it's open to other rooms), and, as of July 27 (when we left), there were zero Blu-ray or DVD players, so we couldn't play the videos we brought, which was quite disappointing; nor was there a video or music library.
Overall a great place, just not quite as listed.

We Loved loved loved this house! Perfect location, beautiful yard! Lots for the kids to do! Carlton was such a cute town! We wished we could’ve stayed longer! Everyone was super comfortable in this lovely house! Will definently be back hopefully!

We love this house! The space is perfect for large groups. The kitchen is the natural gathering space, as is the living room. The gas fireplace is perfect. Each room offers private space when needed. The location is great. I can’t say enough about the house.

Carlton Gates is a wonderful home. Our family had plenty of space to be together and privacy if wanted. Plenty of room in kitchen for cooking together and bbq outside. Carlton downtown is a short walk for dining, wine tasting, shopping. We have already booked for next year!

Everyone that stayed with us agreed that this house was perfect for a large group of family. The bedrooms were amazing, many with their own outside spaces and bathrooms. The open areas were great for many small gatherings. The outdoor space was private and gorgeous. When you drive up to the house it can be misleading as it does not look as large as it is, but once inside you are in a private escape. Also easy to walk to downtown. The host even let me drop off a cake early so it wouldn’t sit in the car during our daughter’s college graduation.

The house was spacious, ideally located and extremely clean. The yard had numerous places to sit and enjoy the peaceful mornings and evenings. We spent 3 days at the house from which we took trips to the beach, waterfalls and numerous wineries. If we decide to visit this area again, we would hope to be able to obtain the same listing.

We rented this place because our Son was married out at Reber's Riverside (in Yamhill), and needed a place for family coming in from out of town. And since we live in Gresham, we did not want to be traveling 2 hours back and forth all weekend. The home was EXACTLY as advertised, and I wish we would have been able to actually enjoy it more than we did. Unfortunately, we really needed it as a place to lay our heads at night and get a good night's sleep, which we did! The beds were comfortable, and the three (3) bathrooms were such a blessing. And OMG!!!! Those showers were amazing.....I just wish I could have used the bathtub in the master :0) It would have been heavenly after the long days. Regarding the management.......the best! They were always so accommodating and responsive to my emails and questions. We highly recommend this venue if you find yourself in the area.......Thank you from the Oswalt Families!

This house is perfect for a large family or group of friends. The two masters are large enough to add an air mattress and the three large bathrooms made it easy for us all get ready at the same time. The living space was open and the kitchen was well equipped for a large group. The outdoor space was perfect for kids soccer while the adults visited on the patio. And the bottle of wine added a very special welcome touch!! We would highly recommend this house and the owner as they were very responsive to all my questions and requests!!

I stayed here with 3 girlfriends for a fun wine tasting weekend. The house was fantastic. Plenty of room, big yard, bikes, walking distance to town, etc. We had a chef come one night and make dinner and the kitchen had everything she needed. Tons of space in the house with large rooms. No issues at all. We would stay here again!

This home was a perfect spot to gather our large group of siblings, celebrating a momentous birthday. The house is spacious with great opportunities to gather or have solo time as needed. A quick walk to downtown Carlton for dinner and access to wineries nearby. Clean and carefully put together, this is a gem.

The house was was perfect and spacious for our family of 6 with adult children. Yard and common space was exceptional to have other relatives come for dinner! The hosts were easy to work with and very accommodating to our schedule and checkin.

We loved our stay. The only problem we had was that my husband has trouble walking and uses a walker. It was a little frustrating having the step down out of every door. Having the city pool so close was a big attraction for my granddaughters.

We continue to enjoy your property year after year!! It often feels like “our” home. Rarely a complaint too and always sparkling clean. Just a couple little things; the can opener has opened it’s last can and sadly we couldn’t get the dishwasher to run. We felt bad leaving dirty dishes for your cleaning service. Instructions for the barbecue? It would not heat up enough to properly sear, possibly operator error!
All in all such a fun time with our special group of gals and the gift card to Carlton Bakery… What a treat! Thanks so much for allowing folks to experience your home.

Carlton Gates is an amazing home and our entire experience was wonderful! The house had everything we needed for our stay and the location was perfect for walking into town to explore the shops or find a bite to eat. I would highly recommend this location and would definitely stay again.

The property was perfect for our family attending a wedding at Abbey Farms. There is plenty of room to have space in the 4 bedroom 3 bath house and enough common area to socialize and connect in kitchen, dining & living room areas. The house and yard were well maintained.

My book club went for a wine tasting weekend. There were 8 of us and we all slept comfortably. The house is beautiful and great location. Loved the backyard spent a lot of time back there A couple of the ladies are going to go back with spouses and friends.

Best VRBO stay we’ve ever had, which is saying a lot after over 30+ different properties. The pictures don’t do the house justice, it is even more beautiful in person. It was also extremely well maintained with gorgeous landscaping. We enjoyed every aspect of the house, but especially the backyard where we would relax in the morning or evening. The house also had everything we needed, including soaps (Molten Brown 😍), coffee, dish soap, towels, and paper goods. We will stay here again when visiting Willamette!

Such a perfect home to spend the weekend with friends! We had a wine weekend to celebrate a friend getting married and this home was the perfect location for us. Close to so many great wineries and the home itself was perfect. Lots of space to relax after a long day wine tasting and loved that we could all gather around the island and chat! Our family enjoyed a relaxing stay at Christmas in this lovely, spacious, well appointed home. Every detail was provided, even a beautiful Christmas tree! The house is modern, nicely furnished, and very comfortable. The bedrooms include nice private patios, and the neighborhood is quiet. Town is a short walk with many tasting rooms, it is a perfect location for exploring the area. The owner and property manager were excellent. We highly recommend Carlton Gates, and hope to return in the future.
