Les propriétaires Mike et Gina Friccero vous souhaitent la bienvenue à l'expérience Awesome Views Vacation Rentals. Mettant en vedette le travail de l'artiste local Alvin Amason, c'est l'hébergement idéal pour le cadre itinérant, le couple romantique ou la famille.
Cette efficacité dispose d'un parking / entrée privé, avec des vues sur l'océan qui sont imbattables. À l'étage Captains Quarters a une douche séparée et des toilettes privées, une terrasse privée avec chaque chambre. À distance de marche de la ville, des musées, des boutiques et des restaurants. Bonne vue pour les oiseaux, les otaries et la cosse occasionnelle d'épaulards qui passe. De beaux levers de soleil sur l'océan, mais rappelez-vous que c'est le pays du soleil de minuit! Apportez un masque de sommeil si vous êtes trop sensible à la lumière. Recommandé d'apporter des vêtements chauds même en été. Une tenue de protection légère est une bonne chose à inclure dans votre sac.
Les enfants sont les bienvenus. Notre maison est sur une bande de parc qui offre beaucoup d'espace pour que les enfants courent et jouent. À distance de marche de la piscine publique, du lycée et du pont de Near Island.

The check in process is the easiest there is. We were extremely happy with the views and the cleanliness of our rental. The only negative I can say is we didn't get to spend more time there. We will definitely be booking this place many more times.

This was a great place to stay- we were there for 3 nights and it was quiet and has beautiful views! Would recommend to anyone visiting Kodiak!

POSITIVES:
- Clean!
- Host is quick to respond and to addresses your concerns.
- Location is great (easy, safe ~15 min walk to downtown Kodiak, quick drive to Safeway/Walmart and ~9-10 mins drive to ADQ).
- Parking is super-convenient to your unit.
- The view is nice but, even better, the back"yard" is really quiet/serene so sitting on the balcony is peaceful.
NEGATIVES:
- Really odd floor layout which is not at all conducive to privacy, convenience, relaxing or even really enjoying the view (from indoors).
- Noise from downstairs units undermines privacy. Owners live right downstairs and we often heard them speaking loudly on speaker phone. This constant reminder that there are people through a very thin floor took away our sense of privacy. Also, we could hear lots of noise from the rental unit directly below. Someone was banging/slamming and dragging things early on Saturday morning; Host's unapologetic response: "Probably downstairs guests scrambling for airport". It ruined our Saturday morning.
- No shade/curtain on large glass panel on front door so anyone that walks up to the unit can see straight into your space through to balcony.
- Furniture is uncomfortable: deck chairs are for sitting (not relaxing), mini sleeper sofa takes up a huge amount of floorspace but not comfortable for sitting (it slopes weirdly), rolling kitchen countertop too crowded to be used as a table, mattress is too soft.

This room is absolutely gorgeous with an even more gorgeous view. I stayed with my husband and it was perfect for the two of us. It’s not a large room but for just two people and a place to lay your head at night it’s perfect. It was very clean, came stocked with coffee, basic kitchen utensils, mini fridge and microwave. This was my first trip to Kodiak Island and staying here set the bar high. I highly recommend.

Captain's Quarters is a lovely studio room with just wonderful views over the water. It is just big enough for 2 adults,but no more. It worked perfect for our 7 night stay. It is within walking distance to everything to do downtown and if you don't mind a longer walk,you can even get to Safeway and Walmart. It's an easy 7 minute drive to Abercrombie State Park and other nearby trails, and also close to Near Island, which you can see from the deck. We really enjoyed our stay!

We only stayed 2 nights but this apartment had everything we needed. It was in a perfect location and had everything we needed. And the view is spectacular!

Having coffee on the deck overlooking the bay was a highlight every morning and drinks in the evening.
Place was very clean and hosts were very responsive. Highly recommend to anyone coming to Kodiak.

This reasonably priced unit was located in a lovely spot that allowed us to experience the Kodiak community. It provided the basics while everything else was easily accessible with a walk or short car ride. We rented a vehicle through Ace / Kodiak Car Rentals which we used to drive all over the island. We had a beautifully delicate fresh Tanner crab dinner with calamari & chowder for dinner @ Kodiak Inn / the Best Western restaurant. We enjoyed local food and beverages at Kodiak Island Brewing Co, Java Flats, Harborside Coffee Shop, Aquamarine, and Henry’s. We wanted to try Kodiak Hana, Bean & Bloom, and Nuniaq but they were closed whenever we stopped by. We had a lovely visit and we would recommend staying at this VRBO.

After 51 years we revisited Kodiak. We lived in Kodiak for 2 years in the early 70s. The apartment was wonderful, great views, good weather and saw bears, eagles, seals, and tons of fish. Only disappointment was not being able to revisit the Chiniak Air Force Station, where I used to work. The road was closed at the missing Chiniak River bridge. Drove most of paved road system. Discovered the Pacific Spaceport, big surprise. Probably won’t have another chance to visit Kodiak but loved our time there this time.

For anyone planning a trip to Kodiak (which is indescribably beautiful), I highly recommend this as a comfy place to lay your head at night and to kick back and enjoy the awesome views--as promised--on the deck. Thank you to Gina for her prompt response to my request to add another night!

I spent most of my time outside.
The views were incredible.
The studio was very clean. It was a little difficult cooking, but, we made it work. We made bacon,eggs on English muffins. That would be the extent for cooking, unless you don't mind microwave meals. It was cute and just about everything we needed.
Would definitely stay again!

This is very cosy/compact and the kitchen area only really suitable for snacks, not much in the way of crockery and washing up a bit tricky in the bathroom sink after eating. But overall for a single traveller it was just what I needed as I mostly at out or got takeaway. Would recommend.
