The property was great, cottage had everything we needed and when we needed a little extra Help, Don was there. Everything about this place was excellent. The two draw backs for me was they didn’t have an outdoor fire pit and there wasn’t a beach area for kids to wade in, but they had a dock and the kids could swim off that. The cottage did have a fireplace to make up for the loss of a fire pit. I would definitely rent again. Don was a great host and we already recommended the cottage to friends of ours. The view was exceptional, we didn’t want to leave.

The cottage was clean and very well stocked. We were there in November so it was very quiet. We liked the surrounding area and made a few day trips. The owner was nice to deal with.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Green Cottage. There was plenty of room for our party of 6. The view of the lake is fabulous!

This was our second trip to this home. It is a super value in a beautiful location. The kitchen is very well stocked. Don is very helpful and even delivered lobsters to us. We love to swim and kayak to the island and play on the rope swing. We hope to return again.

We loved our stay here at the Green Cottage. The location was amazing. Got to see the moon rise, and the sunrise! Wish the weather had been better, but it gave us down time to recharge. Thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace! Don was great and very accommodating. Thank you Don! My only issue was the mattress in the lakeside bedroom. It definitely should be replaced. Other than that, the place was awesome! Nancy

It is in a wonderful location.

There was nothing we needed that wasn’t provided by our hosts. The cottage was well situated and beautifully decorated and when a storm knocked out power (for a short time) our host was on our doorstep with additional flashlights and candles. We couldn’t have asked for better!

Stayed on Damariscotta Lake for 19 years. This is a great cabin. Everything you need is here. Thanks for making it available for rentals.

The Green Cottage was old but clean and comfortable. Gorgeous water views and great swimming and kayaking. The sheets and towels were of good quality, the kitchen was well stocked. Laundry in the basement was super convenient. Could have used more and better chairs for the yard. Yard was on a slope which was not real conducive to hanging out and there was not much shade. Overall a good value though.

The place was exactly like the pictures. We loved the place, and would stay there again.

Owner Don Hunt was responsive to questions before we arrived and was available during our stay. The cottage had all amenities a family could need. We enjoyed fires in the fireplace with the provided wood. The lake was quiet during the week, but I imagine it gets busier after summer vacations start when the school year ends. Very restful week!

It was a very comfortable place to stay. The site is beautiful and the views are great. We were able to fish when we had time. The location is very quiet and within minutes of many places we wanted to explore. The owner was very accommodating and made us feel at home.

The green cottage is a great property in a great location. Master bed is super comfortable and the cottage is well stocked with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. Having a washer and dryer on-site is a huge convenience. The spring water is good for drinking, cooking and bathing. If you are looking for rustic this may not be the place for you. Being right next to the public island with rope swing was a huge plus for the family.

This was our third year staying here and every time there are new improvements that make it even better, whether it's the new bed location so you can wake up and have coffee in bed looking out at the lake (from the new coffee maker in the kitchen!), to the new grill on the porch. And every year there are new things to discover in the area - this year our favorite was oysters from the Shuck Station in Damariscotta (can't wait to try their fried oysters next year) and figuring out the back way around town to Hannafords for groceries. Our teens love coming here too - they love the fast internet, the new floating blowup rafts, and the rope swing on the other side of Spectacle Island right in front of the cabin!

All the basics of comfort are here: furnishings, fixtures, and a fantastic view. During a week of fine weather we enjoyed great fishing both from the dock and out (in our own boat) on the lake and saw plenty of wildlife (loons, eagles, osprey, muskrats, deer, and - a porcupine!). We relaxied on the deck while watching spectacular sunrises most mornings, and listened to the loons calling after dark. Although the mobile phone signal was temperamental, the WiFi and cable worked very well. The easy drive to shopping and dining in Damariscotta and the Pemaquid/Boothbay area is a definite plus!
