We have stayed at several beach house rentals and Terry’s property far exceeded all of them. The customer service was top notch. Items that impressed us: rental was ready 3 hours early, cleanliness was impeccable, kitchen stock and quality of items were wonderful and our favorite part was that there was ample balcony seating that included high top chairs and table. The location of the house is lovely being close to everything you need but the beach in front of the house isn’t crowded at all since it isn’t too close to public access, etc. Highly recommend!

We were in Emerald Isle for a long weekend for a wedding and chose this house to enjoy our stay. The house was very clean and well decorated. The views were amazing! The check in process was very easy and the owners were very informative and helpful. I will definitely be booking this house again!

We loved our time at ‘Are We There Yet?’! The house was perfect for all our needs! My parents were on the main level…less stairs for them! The rest of us were upstairs. The rooms were very spacious. The bathrooms for perfect for all of us to share! We absolutely loved the location of the house. The best part, the part we look at in a rental, the kitchen!! This kitchen was stocked from sponges, dish towels, every kitchen need you can think of down to a pantry! We can fill a countertop pretty quickly with stuff, so having the pantry was amazing! Terry was so kind and sweet from the start to finish! We loved finding all her notes around the house explaining what to do and not to do. It made our stay so easy! We’re already planning our stay for next year! We made great memories here, and we’re excited to make more next year!

Frequent vacation renters in the EI area: AWTY was fantastic and felt like a true home away from home. Very comfortably furnished and equipped inside and out. The TVs were large and easy to operate. We've stayed at the adjoining Double D many times with our dog but with no pet this trip, AWTY truly felt like an upgrade. Highly recommend for a very nice place convenient to all of EI.

Fantastic stay in Terry's home on the beach. Thoughtful extra touches throughout - nice grill, fully stocked kitchen, new deck furniture & pillows, clearly labeled instructions and tips to eliminate confusion, plenty of trash cans, cornhole in the side yard was fun, extra pillowcases for those who needed them. Definitely aiming to book another stay as soon as we can sneak away again as a family!

Relaxing Vacation Spots
This was a vacation where we could be more mindful, slow down the pace, and find more pleasure and enjoyment. How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then to rest afterward. The vacation home was clean and steps away from the beach. You are very close to a pier for fishing. You are steps away from the beach and very nice view.

Our family had a magical vacation in large part because of this amazing property. With the location right on the beach, as well as close to great restaurants and stores, it provided the perfect setting for us to really relax and spend quality time with each other. Beautiful home, nice location
This is a beautiful property and the home was clean and well appointed, especially the kitchen, which had everything we needed.
EI is going through beach renourishment at the moment (until the end of April) and we were unable to access the beach for 2.5 of the 3 days we were there, so that put a damper on our stay, but that is not going to be an issue for future renters because the project moved down the island. Terry did tell us about the project, but I was not aware that it meant that we completely couldn't get on the beach from the house for those days (we had to walk around to get to the beach).
Since the renourishment really shouldn't be a problem for anyone staying in the future, you should know that this is a great house. The small sitting room downstairs would be a great 5th bedroom, as there is a wardrobe with hangers and shelves and a pullout sofa. The views are great from the decks (assuming the construction equipment isn't there), especially the top deck. I really like the lounge chairs up on the top deck - very sturdy and comfy. There are beach chairs and an outdoor shower, along with 2 nice hoses for washing off the sand.
Despite the bumps, I would for sure stay here again. It is not Terry's fault that the construction was going on during our stay, just bad luck on our part. Overall, a wonderful and well kept home.

A Gem!
This place is a fantastic place! It is located right on the beach, very close to everything you need, from restaurants to grocery stores to mini-golf to the Bogue Inlet Pier. The property was extremely clean when we checked in, and the back decks look right out onto the ocean! The master bedroom on the top floor in particular has a fantastic patio and amazing view. Check-in and check-out were super easy!
Terry, the property owner, was absolutely fantastic. There was clear communication with her from the very start of the process to the very end. She even let us know about a great little ice cream shop called the Sweet Spot around the corner. In all of the VRBOs I have stayed in over the years, I have never had a better property manager than Terry! Simply phenomenal!
The only negative about the trip was the beach re-nourishment that was happening the week we were there. It was a bit noisy and was happening right outside the house. However, as we were leaving, the process was moving down the beach, so I don't think it would affect future stays that much. Also, Terry took the time to give us a heads up about it before we came, so we were prepared in advance.

Great lounging or launching pad!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay between Christmas and New Years. Comfortably fit seven adults with room to spread out as needed, with small den on the basement level and multiple decks. Good kitchen for preparing meals and dining room table was comfortable for our group. King bed was comfortable but other full sized beds a bit tight for our larger guys. Home was clean and well appointed. Felt secluded with beach access out the back steps, but walkable to get a drink outdoors and short drive to grocery or fish market. Enjoyed the sights of the sunsets and pier lit up at night. Would definitely return.

Best Hostess Ever
Terry the property owner is a gem! Very responsive to questions, gave recommendations about renting beach tent. This house is beautiful with the BEST equipped kitchen we've ever had in 34 years at other Emerald Isle properties. Check in process is fantastic! We got text from Terry telling us the property was ready early. Simple lock box code and we were in! There was hand soap, toilet paper, shampoo, etc. already there. There is also a great variety of beach chairs and a big umbrella on property. The deck furniture is very comfy and ample seating for our group of 9. Our only concern was house location close to the pier but absolutely NOT an issue even on holiday weekend. Ample space on beach. The house has a shorter deck walk down to beach which is great. A big plus is that the property manager is Terry's brother Mike who lives in town. We got to meet him when he filled propane tank for the big gas grill. Nice guy! We had a wonderful family vacation with several generations present. You can't go wrong with this house and with Terry.

Beauty at the Beach
This was our second Thanksgiving at Are We There Yet...and we did not imagine how this rental felt like home. Beautifully decorated, very clean, completely outfitted kitchen, and stunning ocean views. We saw dolphins and whales (yes, whales!), and breathtaking sunsets as we relaxed with our extended family. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Are We There Yet was wonderful! The house is beautiful and a fantastic location. Everything in the house was spotless and all up to date. All communication with Terry, the owner, was smooth and easy, she was very helpful. This was easily the best vacation rental we have ever stayed in. We HIGHLY recommend it!
