Gorete was a wonderful host and the apartment was perfect! Very well kept and appointed and perfect location on Calle Huertas in the heart of Madrid steps from Plaza Santa Ana! We loved our stay and will be back soon hopefully and highly recommend! -Geoff

The location is convenient to most major attractions, shopping, restaurants etc! It is a bustling street and can get quite loud with people chatting and singing on the street but singing and laughter is not necessary a bad thing! We found some great restaurants and shops within walking distance! We were very happy with our accommodations! Would stay again!

An excellent location and a delightful apartment, Gorete's property offered convenience, quiet (even on a very busy street) and rest after wandering around Madrid. Check in was smooth and the management unobtrusive but efficient. The entire property presented well and literally, was steps from bars and restaurants (none of which could be heard at night) and a short walk from Plaza Mayor, the Prado and Reina Sofia. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The shower hot with a strong water flow, always welcome after a hard day of 'touristing'. Gorete was proactive as a host and the staff who looked after us charming and helpful, despite language barriers

This was a really interesting place nestled along a narrow lane just off the busiest bustling streets but still among nice little bars, and cafes, and shops, etc. It was comfortable and had all the amenities to make for a comfy headquarters from which to explore all the wonder Madrid has to offer. We only walked and were able to hit all the places we wanted, including The Prado, The Thyssen, The Plaza Mayor etc. I wouldn't hesitate to book this apartment for future adventures.

Enjoyed our stay as we went to the Madrid Tennis. The noise from the bar across the road was very loud, went on until 3am. Very annoying Would have been great to have an expresso coffee machine. Don’t like drip coffee . The apartment was well equipped.

This apartment is small but well-equipped. It has two sofas which is great for a couple. The bedroom is a pass-through to the living-dining-kitchen with no door. It ended up not being a problem for us. Plenty of storage. Large comfortable bed. Restaurants virtually next door, a Carrefour and pharmacy a block away. I needed medical help and our hostess had someone at our door in minutes. All in all highly recommended.

This wonderful, renovated apartment overlooking LasHuertas- a street full of boutiques and tapas bars…and historic as the heart of the literary quarter had everything! We visited all three “golden trio” museums- a quick walk away. Walked to everything, actually! So many great restaurants! We took the host’s advice and found the mushroom restaurant one night, too.

We stayed here at the end of our trip to Spain and it was great. High energy neighborhood, lots and of restaurants and shopping. It had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The Host was correct my only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Thank you for a great stay.

This is a fantastic spot, close to metro and the center city sights and sounds of Madrid. The accommodations were wonderful, and Gorete was a very responsive and wonderful host. The location is close to good breakfast and tapas spots within very close walking distance. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and well laid out for our family of four - posed no problems at all. Would recommend and book again!

This is the best VRBO property I have used. (And I have stayed at quite a few all over the U.S.) The location cannot be beat. The owner/manager Gorete Fieira is both responsive and a great source of local information. The on-site concierge, Alicia, is also terrific. The apartment is kept spotlessly clean and is very well equipped, including the appliances. A fantastic place!

Well thought out and appointed apartment on a wonderful street. Walked everywhere-Retiro, Prado, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, El Rastro, etc. great communication and a lovely space- I would come back again (and stay a month)!

This apartment is in an excellent location and closest by foot to the three major art museums, tons of eating options and not too far from a couple of metro stations. The place itself is a modern, cozy and highly functional home away from home. It is spacious enough to be able to relax and do practical things like laundry. Gorete is the best VRBO host we have ever had. She has been so responsive and full of great information prior to our arrival and when we arrived. She understands when you travel from abroad that detailed instructions even for the simplest things inside the apartment or advice on how to get to the apartment helps travellers feel more confident and less worried about the little things. It is so great she tries to arrange to have someone meet you in person upon arrival. Muchas gracias, Gorete!

Property exceeded our expectations, it was clean and well appointed. The location was perfect and in walking distance to everything you could want, would highly recommend this place!

My husband and I stayed for a week while visiting our son who is studying in Madrid. The apartment - spacious and clean, stocked with everything we could need for a busy week. It was so nice to come back to the apartment to cool off from the heat and siesta before gearing up for the late nights. The Huertas neighborhood is charming, and is a home to artists, writers and musicians as well as lovely shops, great restaurants and bars. Centrally located to so many wonderful sights like El Prado, San Miguel Market, Plaza Mayor and more. Gorete, our VRBO host, was attentive to our questions during our trip planning and was very responsive when on our last night, the laundry machine stopped working. Alicia the caretaker came to the apartment on a Saturday night, beautifully dressed to go out for the night, and she and my husband emptied the laundry basin full of water by hand. Without their responsiveness, we would have had to leave a whole load of wet laundry behind! It was a wonderful week - we will be back! Thank you Gorete!

The apartment was nicely furnished, and stocked with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect. In the middle of everything and within walking distance of museums, the Palacio Real, the Plaza Mayor and other must see places. We had great communication with our property manager, who provided us with a ton of information about Madrid and where we were staying. She was quick to answer any questions we had and we were greeted by her assistant on our arrival. The only negative was the washer/dryer was one unit and we didn't know how to work it. A small complaint, compared to all the positives of our stay. I would highly recommend staying here and would stay again if we ever return to Madrid.

We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful, stylish apartment in the middle of downtown Madrid and its many attractions. Gorete, the owner, is an incredible ambassador and was quick to communicate. She provided lots of wonderful background on the neighborhood and its history as well as great suggestions for dining and entertainment. Check in was easy and efficient. I can't wait to return to this wonderful city.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here! It was perfect for us - great location and very clean. Note that the bed is not comfortable, so if you need a comfy bed to sleep, this probably isn’t your spot. Otherwise, no complaints here and was a great stay!

Beautiful, well equipped apartment. Fantastic, well located - we walked everywhere! Our host ensured we were welcomed and provided detailed information about the apartment, restaurants nearby, things to see and do etc. We would return in a second!

The location of this apartment cannot be beat. We walked everywhere with our 12-yo and 9-yo kids. But because it is very central, do be aware that there may be rowdy revelers late at night. For example, my 12-yo was awoken at 3 am by a large group of folks chanting and cheering as they walked by the street (like soccer match-type cheering). We were prepared for this though, and gave our 12-yo earplugs. She fell right back to sleep (her mama, on the other hand, was another story). Gorete was also a wonderful host and very accommodating - we arrived late at night and she made arrangements for someone to meet us and let us in. Thank you, Gorete - we will try to make it back to Madrid and stay at your wonderful apartment again!

The apartment was equipped with the basics as well as many thoughtful extras in the kitchen and bathroom, from a new package of coffee, olive oil, different sweeteners to individual wrapped toothbrushes and a shaver plus nice body wash, etc. The owner put together a useful binder of good info and tips, read it first thing, it will save you lots of time! Plus she is always available for a message and responds quickly. There are wonderful restaurants right on the same block, esp the Vietnamese on the corner, excellent! The clubs on the block can get a bit boisterous so I took OTC sleep aids like Melatonin or a P.M. ibuprofen but a better idea may be to simply join them 😊 Great place, good strong shower, lots of room to spread out. Nuf said.

The apartment was just as it appeared in the pictures and reviews. Gorete was a terrific host! As some of the reviews mentioned, it can get a little noisy at night but cities can be loud and this wasn’t a big issue for us. We loved the location and appreciated the king sized bed and spotless apartment!

We are experienced, retired travelers on our first trip to Madrid. We were thrilled to have found 11 Huertas in Las Letras. Gorete’s lovely flat is within easy walking distance to the Prado Museum, the beautiful Retiro Park and a host of other cultural activities. Every little street brought an adventure of some sort with bistros, tapas bars and beautiful architecture. We found farm to table restaurants and welcoming locals. We enjoyed the neighborhoods and streets surrounding this fully fitted, meticulously clean flat. Gorete and her assistant, Alicia were readily available to answer questions, offer suggestions and assist. We highly recommend you to choose staying here on your travels to Madrid.

This is a beautiful flat in a charming neighborhood. Gorete is a lovely host. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

We enjoyed our trip totally! The property was exactly like the AD and exactly what we wanted. The bed was comfortable and the sitting area was well lit and offered many options for relaxing. We wanted to rebook but the days were already occupied!

The apartment is cozy, very functional and extremely well-located. The building is very well-maintained and elegant. The only drawback is that because one is located in the heart of the City, there is a lot of street noise nearly every night of the week, owing especially to the presence of two nightclubs below. Still, one is within walking distance of the museums, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Chueca, Lavapies, Atocha train station, etc. There is no shortage of great restaurants, pharmacies, tapa bars, and supermarkets.

Location was perfect, manager very nice and friendly, very clean and packed with all essentials.

My husband and I really enjoyed our time while we were visiting our daughter in Madrid. The apartment was comfortable & cozy and the neighborhood was very well located - lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Highly recommend.

The apartment is located just a couple of kilometers from park, museum, and great walking tours. A 7Euro trip in taxi to train station makes it convenient to get to airport or other destinations. Apartment is clean and modern with WiFi and washer/dryer and cooktop and refrigerator. TV is present but we never turned it on as their are just too many activities to stay inside! My wife actually lost her purse, wallet, passport and papers left inside taxi. Alicia was very helpful with talking Spanish and Gorete was able to help with English. The taxi driver returned the lost purse with all contents intact!! Great help from a great staff!!

The apartment is exactly as advertised...like home. Literally in the middle of downtown Madrid. Within 5 minutes either direction of the apartment are hundreds of restaurants, bars and lounges. Perfect for a weekend getaway.
