Accueil très chaleureux, , Jay et Henri aiment ce qu'ils font et cela se voit: petit déjeuner en face d'un jardin tropical, chambre spacieuse, conseils pour visiter l'île, tout était parfait.

Wir haben uns nach unserer Ankunft bei Jay und Henry sehr wohl gefühlt. Außerdem haben wir sehr gute und hilfreiche Typs für Unternehmungen in der Umgebung bekommen. Wenn wir gewusst hätten wie herzlich es bei den beiden ist hätten wir unseren Aufenthalt gerne dort länger gestaltet.

Wir waren durch und durch zufrieden!

Alles war sehr sauber. Die Tipps von Jay für Ausflüge sind super ( übrigens auch in einem perfekten Deutsch ) . Das Frühstück war das beste südlich des Äquators. Die Zimmer sind schön groß mit einen großen Balkon, mit Klimaanlage und die Betten haben ein Moskitonetz.

Die Gastgeber waren unglaublich herzlich und haben sich wahnsinnig engagiert beim Frühstück, haben uns viele Tips gegeben und uns sogar die Umgebung gezeigt! Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und schön mit einem grossen Balkon mit Blick in den grünen Garten. Wir empfehlen die Unterkinft sehr und würden jederzeit wieder bei Jay buchen!

Jay est aux petits soins, aidé par Henri. Ambiance familiale très agréable. Grandes chambres avec coin cuisine . Pas très loin de la plage de Belle Mare ( 10 mn en voiture). 5 mn d'un Super U. Petit déjeuner tous les matins avec des fruits frais et une omelette à tomber par terre 👌

Jay est une personne exceptionnelle, son accueil chaleureux et sa disponibilité sont très appréciable. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et local, la chambre spacieuse, propre et bien équipée. Jay notre hôte a su répondre à toute nos attentes. Nous avons pu goûter de produits locaux lors des petits déjeuner et il sait s'adapter à ses convives (intolérance alimentaire). Il est de très bon conseil en ce qui concerne les excursions et visites à faire sur l'île. Nous avons hâte d'y retourner.

The host was very welcoming and friendly. He helped me, first time traveller to Mauritius, with transport and other useful information. Breakfast was also amazing. It felt as good as home. It was a lovely and comfortable stay. I hope to go again.

Jay and Henry are Great host. Hosts are very helpful and with good knowledge of nearby attractions. The property is located in a quiet area making it peaceful. The property is close from Shiv Sagar Temple. The small Garden at the property is beautiful for evening coffee/Tea.

When we first arrived Jay made us fell like at home. He explained us every detail about the perfect apartment and also all the best places to visit around the area. Te room is very big, absolutely clean and acconditioned with all the necessary amenities for a marvelous stay. You can find a fully equipped kitchen, a very confortable bathroom and a remarkable bedroom area with a balcony included, with very nice and quiet views. In addition, Jay is an incredible host and will be available for all your needs.

Everything is perfect for the apartment and every place to visit is in a close distance. But is it highly recommended to rent a bike or a car to visit the area, as the apartment is not inside any touristic area, neither commercial places.

Everything. Jay made our stay at Shanti Nivas one of the most comfortable and enjoyable stays we have ever had anywhere. The daily breakfasts, the advice on what to visit and how to go about the island were all very much appreciated.

Great guesthouse overall. Very nice, spacious, and clean room with modern ammenities. Owner was very welcoming and even provided fresh mangoes from the garden. Location was very easy to reach with a car and only a short drive from the wonderful Belle Mare beach. I wish I had stayed here more than one night. Overall one of the best accommations (out of 5) that we stayed in on the island. Would definitely recommend.

Jay treated us like queens. We were welcomed with a fresh wet towel and a juice which was exactly what we needed in that moment. It’s like a 5* hotel from the first second. The place was perfect, as the delicious breakfasts, his kindness, the kitchen had everything and everything was tidy and clean. Fruits are from his beautiful garden, that brings you joy and peace every time you look at it. The rooftop is super cute and perfect to chill. Jay, the owner, is one of the friendliest and helpful people I know, making our stay in Mauritius extra special. We felt like we stayed in a friend’s house. The rooms are nicely furnished, large and have everything you need for your stay. The rooms on the upper floor are hot, but you have a perfectly working AC and a ceiling fan. Jay has a garden full of exotic plants and fruits. There is also a roof where we had a BBQ and enjoyed the sunset. The only small downside is the location, it’s on a side street, did not like walking at night, but in the daytime it’s ok. The closest beach is 10 minutes away by car. Considering the price per night, this is the best cheap accommodation on the island. Thank you Jay!

This lovely villa is centrally located within the village of Poste de Flack, not far from the Indian Ocean (4-5 minutes by car). Shops and dining places in the village are within walking distance. The most beautiful beaches on the island - Belle Mare Public Beach and Palmar Public Beach - are within easy reach by car in 5-10 minutes. The location of the villa itself is suitable for touring the whole island, no need to book accommodation elsewhere. The apartment is clean, comfortable; it also has a fully equipped kitchen. The bedrooms and balcony are above average in size, and the terrace has a wonderful view of the fantastic garden in bloom and colour. Most importantly, Jay, the host, makes your stay at Shanti Nivas Villa unforgettable with his kindness, absolute attentiveness, helpfulness and knowledge of Mauritius. Through him, you will gain an insight into the local customs, flora and fauna. In the mornings, she prepares her own juices from the delicious freshly squeezed local fruit, from her own garden and fresh, juicy fruit from the local market. During our stay there, he was at our disposal every minute of the day, this is accommodation we can recommend to anyone as a seasoned traveller. Dear Jay, thank you so much for enriching our days in Mauritius!

Jays place is a perfect spot, cleanest place we’ve stayed in Mauritius (including hotels 3x the price), with attention to every detail. Very comfy bed, gorgeous private balcony, beautiful garden, little kitchen unit, bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with fresh fruit from the garden, omelette, tea/coffee, bread etc! Details like great quality towels and hairdryer was very appreciated 😊 Jay is a wonderful honest host and the best we’ve met while traveling!! We enjoyed our stay so much.

The room was very clean. The host, Jay, was very attentive and helped us personally. He has a beautiful garden and gave us some of his mangoes from there. He also provides driving to all the locations in the island for very good price.

Jay is a fantastic and very welcoming host. We were welcomed like at home, with a cold drink and cool towels, after a long all-day trip. The apartment was spacious, convenient and very clean, there was a beautiful view from the balcony (a small beautiful garden with many species of domestic an more exotic plants - home to a red fody family). Fantastic rooftop and common spaces. We stayed there for one night only but we felt like at home. I really recommend Jay's place for a longer stay. It's not located directly at the beach but it's calm, offers a beautiful view from the roof and most importantly you can stay at a place owned by someone who grew up there and can tell you a lot about Mauritius. If you have a car you can easily reach both the noth and south of the island (also by bus, but a bit more difficult). The place is also very close to the Bras D'eau reserve and Poste La Fayette beach which is one of our favorite ones in Mauritius. Definitely worth it.

Shanti Nivas is the place in Mauritius. A couple of minutes driving from the wonderful beaches of Belle Mare and Palmer beach, this is a great place to enjoy the best of Mauritius in a far more economic way. We had a spacious bedroom with private bathroom and a little kitchen where we could cook our own meals, But Shanti Nivas is a lot more than just a place to stay, this is a place where you feel like home. The host, Mr. jay is a one of a kind master host. He does everything to make you feel at home, and soon he became a friend. Don't expect a 5 stars resort by 1/10 of the price you pay for it in Mauritius, but you can certainly expect a 10 times better service. Thanks Jay, you're the man and you have built a quite unique concept in Mauritius by allowing everyone to have the possibility of visit the wonderful Mauritius with a limited budged. I cannot recommend enough your place to anyone who always dreamed to visit Mauritius but couldn't afford the extremely expensive hotels.

In short, I definitely recommend staying in Shanti Nivas, I loved my stay there. Jay and Henry were very welcoming, helpful and overall great hosts. Their warm personality makes Shanti Nivas so exceptional. The rooms are spacious, airy, spotless clean and equiped with all the necessary amenities, including net against mosquitos (very useful). Balcony with outside seating area is again spacious and faces the beautiful garden Jay and Henry created. The garden is simply beautiful and it contains sizeable part of all Mauritian plant species (not kidding!), including impressive papaya tree and range of other plants, which attract fruit bats and various bird species. Definitely take the breakfasts, they are served in the garden and very yummy - selection of tropical fruits was lovely, but for me the special highlight was the omelette, the chats, and the red cardinal bird of course :) Also best value for money from the places we stayed in. The only thing to consider for pedestrian travellers is that the road to nearest beach or anywhere outside of the village is a for the adventurous folks as there is not much space for walking on the road and locals drive fast, but you can take local taxis/buses and if you have a car, this is no issue.

Jay's a nice guy. He welcomed us with a cold drink. He took care of us the whole time we were there. He gave us tips on where to go. The room was very meticulously cleaned. There is a very beautiful garden attached to the villa which Jay will be happy to show you.

The room is very big, it has a very nice furniture and everything one can need. It also includes a small separated kitchen and a very nice balcony. The house includes also a very large new rooftop terrace, where it’s nice to spend some time, especially in the evening. The breakfast in the garden was delicious! Jay is a super host. We felt like being in a 5 star hotel and at the same time like visiting a friend. He took care of us 100% and he also gave us good tips for the rest of our travel. Thank you again for hosting us, I’m sure we will never forget the experience!

All was perfect.

We stayed 2 nights as we had it booked another hotel with no cancellation otherwise I would stay longer. So cozy the host Jay is doing his job from heart you can feel it on every single details in his house. Lovely room. Exceeed expectations. You not find better to compere to Money in Mauritius. Its easier to have a car to travel all Mauritius highlights! All the best Jay

Garden, terrace, on each floor there is a lobby where u can relax. On last flor u can iron and dry your clothes and it is also top roof view, over all very functional space. The host, Jay built everything himself and also restored some furniture he is very creative. Most importantly it was clean, over one month we traveled Mauritius, we booked 10s of other apartments and this was by far the best value for money and the cleanest. Jay was very helpful and we felt like a part of the family.

No complaint, we received more than we expected.

The rooms are exceptionally clean, done with very good taste. The view is wonderful, there is a very beautiful garden with an explosion of plants where the breakfast takes place. There is also a red sparrow " neighbour" who comes to your table and it's magnificent. But all'n all, from far, the best thing is Jay, the host. We have no words to describe how nice, helpful, solicitous he is. Also, I need to say that it would help to have a rental car or scooter so you can move on the island as the nice beaches are not all walkable distance.

Super nice owner Jay who serves very good breakfast in the beautiful garden of Shanti Nivas. We also had nice chats with him and as a local we learned and heared lots about Mauritius and its culture. He speaks german very good as well. The room was nice, clean and really big with a small separate kitchen and bathroom. Very good air conditioning and fast wifi. Nice terrace and possibility to sunbath at rooftop. Rental car/scooter recommended as beaches are around 10 min. away. One good restaurant in walking distance plus several street Food options available.
