Great location everything is so close restaurants,coffee shops and you can walk to the beach in five minutes also have all the amenities that we where looking for, Definitely will stay in this cottage again.

My daughter, husband and I found this property to be a wonderful base for exploring the Santa Barbara area. The unit is clean and comfortable and has good lighting for reading. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the living room is a great place to relax and take in the view of the ocean. We hope to stay here again in the future!

What a great stay. The space is so well done and meticulously clean. It is a block from the beach and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. An incredible find.

The place is in desperate need of air no problem purifiers upstairs and downstairs. The airborne particulates can be cut with a knife. Air purifiers would probably solve this, but they were nonexistent. Also, the unit is marketed with the outdoor area and fire pit but you can’t really use it as it’s directly in front of another rental unit above it’s unavailable for the lower unit which we rented.

We have stayed in this beautiful home for more than five years. It’s a perfect location that I look forward to each year. The home is ideal for two of us.

The Summerland listing opens with a pic of the patio area. That really drew me in. I could see my husband and myself enjoying grilling and having a cocktail there. I should have looked more closely at other reviews because that is NOT private, and in fact, upstairs from the house shared with what looks like a permanent resident. That should be clearly stated in the advertisement of the property. I thought VRBO's were inherently a vacation rental you had all to yourself. Not so with this house. I'm a private person, and did not feel comfortable hanging out in the outdoor patio area; had I known, I would not have chosen this rental.

We stayed at this place for 2 nights and it was perfect for us. Amazing location right near town and walk to Summerland beach took us 5 minutes. Very close to downtown Santa Barbara and adorable setup inside. Would definitely stay here again.

Charming small house with enough place for a family of 5. Santa Barbara and beaches are easy to access by car. Nice street with restaurants and coffee shops in waking distance. Great host, communicating everything needed proactively.

Fit our needs perfectly for a few days of down time. Comfortable and well located...short ride (or long walk) to the park and beach. would have liked the patio to be more user friendly...a working umbrella for shade.

We stayed here during our drive through California. The cottage was cozy with an amszing view of the ocean.

Had a cozy & quiet weekend stay in Summerland for wedding. Very comfortable bed downstairs. A little chilly (May gray), but heaters helped. Recommend for couple, or family w/ kids.

We loved this house! My husband, dog, and I stayed at the house for a long weekend and enjoyed our stay. You enter the house into the bedroom on the first floor. It's spacious with a king-sized bed and the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. That thing was like a cloud. Upstairs is the kitchen, living room area, and bathroom. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed and the bathroom was larger than I expected. You can see the ocean from the windows in the living area. There's a little freeway noise with the windows open, but not loud enough for us to close them. I did not contact the owner while we were at the house because we didn't have any problems, but he provided detailed information about the house before our trip and answered all of my questions. I had never been to Summerland before this trip but fell in love with it. The cottage is a short walk from a coffee shop, restaurant, and winery, and all were fantastic. All of the locals were super friendly. Santa Barbara is only about 10 minutes down the road. We found both Summerland and Santa Barbara to be very dog friendly and welcoming to our pup. As others have mentioned, the stairs in the cottage are steep, but we didn't have any problems with them (including my 60lb dog). Parking is on the street but we were able to park right in front of the door the entire time we were there. We absolutely loved this place and hope to stay here again. Highly recommend.

This was a weekend birthday getaway for my sister and I. The town of Summerland is a short walk and has many cute shops and nice places to eat. The cottage was nice with a few small exceptions - the shower needs some repairs and we felt could have been cleaner. The little patio area had been neglected and there’s no privacy there . Ian was responsive when we called him.

Will be back again. Wonderful time.

This place was exactly what I’d expected. Management was responsive and the location was great.

We loved this secluded little cottage with a view of the ocean. There is a lovely downtown street with great coffee and breakfast spots within a five minute walk, and another five minutes to get down to the beach itself. The cottage has everything you need for comfort. Highly recommend.

Technically a one bedroom with a second bed in the living room. If you're looking for privacy, this would not work. It was clean, but could use some updating. Owner sent out good notes on the property. Beautiful views. Btw, the patio cant really be used as there is someone living in a room off the patio. Very awkward.

This is a nice little cottage. It was a cool layout witn a nice view. The place is older and did have some issues, but Iyan, the owner was very helpful and accomodating.

This adorable cottage style house was near all the restaurants which the owner gave us a list of recommendations which was so helpful! Our family of 4 slept very comfortable even though its not set up for little kids there was plenty of space with lots of bedding available plus the views were incredible. Was a quick stay for us but would highly recommend, thank you for a great visit

Cozy and clean, dog friendly stay. Location was wonderful with pretty views from the back patio and upstairs room.. Good value for the price. Very walkable- one of my dog’s favorite beach trips ever!

Cute house in neighborhood within walking distance of lookout beach and restaurants. The place is nicely appointed with comfortable beds. The house is on a hill. The inside stairs are narrow and steep, but our 90 year old guest could navigate it. There is one bath on the main floor. There is Internet and TV service. We would come again.

We were thrilled with our stay at the Summerland Beach Cottage. Very spacious, very clean, well appointed and truly gave you a feel of having your own beach area cottage with the cross breezes from the Pacific keeping you cool and relaxed thru the night. Walking distance to a few fun shops and restaurants as well as very convenient to Santa Barbara. Ian was a pleasure to work with!

We loved this home. Every inch oozing with charm. The location was gorgeous with easy access to the beach, food, and shops. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone seeking a unique escape a little off the beaten path.

The upstairs has a lovely view and the neighborhood was very quiet. We enjoyed eating locally and going through some of the local stores. The house was clean and there was plenty of room for the two of us. There are things that need attention, however, like the handle in the shower and the blinds. There was a coffeemaker but no filters to use with it. One of the lamps next to the bed downstairs does not work correctly and though there were plenty of towels, only 2 washcloths. We never did meet or talk to Ian.

The location was excellent! The house was clean and the host was easy to reach for any questions. Would stay here again.

This property has very poor choice for sleeping arrangements. There is only 1 king size bed in the basement/entry of the property which smells musty and where the only closet is. There is a double bed upstairs in the Living room along with a sleep sofa in the L/Rm. The patio area was dirty, untidy with misc. stuff laying around and a nearly new BBQ that had a cover but now does not and it is filthy with debris. There is unkept plantings and 2 broken chairs nothing like in the pictures shown for this property. My overall impression there is no attention to detail or price of place. Note: If you have small children or are older folks the stairs in this property to the main living of the house are very steep with a very sticky dirty hand rail to hold on to. Yes, the view was nice overlooking the freeway towards the ocean. We left a day early !

Great location to Santa Barbara. Unfortunately the renters before us left the place a mess and the poor cleaning woman had to do several loads of laundry she was going to return the next day but because we needed to do laundry we emptied and folded 3 loads. The bed in the main room is more like a cot. A little difficult to get in and out of. Take note there is no dishwasher. There is street noise however if you close the windows all is good There were a couple other issues but Ian was mostly responsive to our concerns
