We had a good time at the lake! With 2 living rooms and 2 large decks, There is room to spread out. The 2 kitchens/refrigerators allow for plenty of food storage and cooking.
The house description and pics are accurate. It is a nice wooded lot with shade. It would be nice if a few of the lower limbs out near the water were cut, to allow better view of the main channel.
*** Note for anyone with a boat- the boat slip is small and not very tall. We couldn’t get pontoon in and had to take the canopy down to park at the side(as older tin over hangs and would have cut fabric canopy)!
Their is a small attached swim dock and located in low traffic area.

We have been going to Smith Lake as a family for over 20 years. My husband grew up in Mississippi and was at the lake just about every weekend! We have 3 family members with lake houses, so we have a little family reunion every year.
We were very impressed with this property. Very clean and spacious. Love the short walk to the dock to swim or go on boat rides. We rented a pontoon from Duskin's Point. Loved sitting on the back porch in the morning and evening. It was super hot while we were there, so we borrowed a floor fan from our nephew. Kids loved the upstairs porch and play cards there every night.
The house is brick and shaded, which helps keep it cooler. Air conditioning was amazing as well. Loved having 2 kitchens and 2 living rooms. It gave everyone room to get away from the group and relax on their own.
The grill is charcoal and we used it several times. We had to run to Arley for charcoal and lighter fluid. Other suggestions are to take laundry detergent if you want to do some laundry. Washer and Dryer are nice, but there wasn't any detergent available.
The owner was very responsive and stopped by the house on our 1st day to mow. We loved chatting with him and getting the history of the house. It was built in 1970 by a gentleman that lived to be 98 years old. He worked for the AL Power Company. He did all the brick work himself.

Smith Lake Home
We loved the lake house and especially the two kitchens. It was perfect for our family. We loved it was such an easy walk down the sidewalk to the lake. We could easily walk to the house when the kids got tired! It was so peaceful and quiet and just seemed like home! The trees made it so much cooler with temps around 100! We had an amazing week! Hate I had to pay additional service fee to back my days up three days but other than that is was great! Hope to return soon!

This was our 2nd time renting this property & I’m sure we’ll rent it again. The location and gentle slop to the water is excellent. The house is clean but very dated, especially downstairs which is where we spent most of our time. The downstairs couch could use an update. The yard could use a thorough cleaning. Other than the few minor details, we really enjoyed our stay.

Great vacation home for a large family
The location was perfect for our family reunion Memorial Day 2022. We booked for 6 days. Very quiet part of the lake with privacy from neighbors. Home was more than adequately supplied with dishes, cookware and crockpots to prepare meals for a large crowd. Each bed had 6 very comfortable pillows with more pillows and blankets in linen closests. So much room to separate if need be. Two full kitchens. Very nice level lot. More than enough room to park multiple cars. Nice very gentle slope to the water. We will definitely book again when family is coming in from out of state.

All we hoped for
Found the house clean and directions clear. Able to communicate with the owner was very informative. The water was up 3' above full pool, so we had to use walk board to get to the pier. The water had lowered as we were told it would. Quiet area this time of year(1st of April). Interesting outbuildings on the property. The light at the pier did not work, but was not an issue.

We had a great time. This was one of the nicest VRBO houses we have stayed in. It was clean, organized, and comfortable. The lake is beautiful, even when the water was down. The sunsets from the dock were phenomenal.

Secluded and beautiful
My family loved the back story of the home. It had that at home feel. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the lake everyday was amazing. My mother didn't want to leave.
We actual had a leak while there and the owner was prompt on coming to look at it. We never figured out what was leaking but, it stopped and didn't ruin our beautiful weekend.
Cabin had everything you needed for your stay. I mean everything we just had to purchase food at the local Walmart which was about a 45 min drive into Jasper beautiful country side.
Only thing I would change is to build a ramp for handicap people to go along with the handicap accessiblity. My mom thank God was able to maneuver up and down the steps to get into the home. If she had not been able to we would have been out money and a place to stay. Truly my fault for not looking further into it but, I assumed since it was listed as handicap accessible.
Other than that everything was fabulous. Thanks we will be back.

Cozy lakehouse.
The owners were friendly and available. The house was great size for family to enjoy! The home is cozy, quiet, great boat access and lots of outdoor seating. Enjoyed that the house had cute backstory and charm. It had everything we needed to relax! Everyone locally we met were very nice. The lake is absolutely beautiful!! We brought our own boat and kayaks and took full advantage of the nice days. We had plenty of cool central air in the home after long hot days on the water! We traveled to Cullman couple of times for shopping. We had a great time in Alabama and would definitely stay there again!!

This was a delightful vacation spot. We had 4 adults and we had 4 children ages 8-13. Every single one of agreed we will come back each year as long as these host offer the property.
The pictures do not do it justice. Having two full houses on each level was just what we needed. As the grandparents we used the downstairs bedroom allowing rest and quiet!
Both kitchens are stocked and we felt at home cooking in each. 7 days and no take out food!
The swimming pier was used almost non-stop. Water there is nice. Not a real good place for non-swimmers to walk in so not over the head. We just kept them in life jackets and they had a blast.
Grills, fire pits, swings - so many spots outside for family to gather.

Awesome Vacation
This is our third year to stay at the property and I have already made plan to stay next summer. The property is just right for my family they look forward to the time to go back. My four year old grandson got in the car his last day of school and said I’m ready to go to the lake house.

Sweet Memories Made
This home is just as described and just as pictured. A total of 5 adults and 5 children stayed at this property for 4 nights. Everything we needed to have a wonderful trip was there. We brought a boat and used the dock on site. The home also has kayaks that are available for rent. Between swimming, kayaking, fishing, tubing, going on boat rides, there was never a moment not filled with great memories. The home is tucked away in a cove which made it perfect for kids to swim and kayak in. It was also within 5 miles or less (by water) to 3 different marinas. It is also surrounded by trees which meant you could enjoy the back porches even at the hottest times of the day. If you are looking for the most high end, most updated, most manicured property, this home isn't for you. If you are planning to spend most of your time inside, this home may not be the home for you. If you are looking for a basic home that provides great access to the water via a great location and being reasonably priced, this is the home for you. I priced homes on lakes across two states and this home was the best price of all and had better lake access than many of the other homes I looked at. I would highly recommend this property to others. We had a wonderful time and if we ever go back to Smith Lake we would use this property again. Sweet memories were made and will not soon be forgotten. It was a great vacation.

great property, cut down the tree near the entrance of the boat ramp.
great property, its dated, but for the price it cant be beat. There is a small tree in the way of the boat launch that makes it unusable if you have a big boat. We brought our 24 foot (30 ft trailer) and there was no way it was going down that ramp with that angle we had to cut. I thought about cutting the tree down because it was not that big. We had to go to duncan bridge marina to put the boat in. Other than that little hickup it was perfect.

Fantastic lakeside getaway
My friends and I enjoyed our stay very much! It checked all the boxes for us: dock on the water, boat ramp on site, amazing fire pit area, grill, awesome outdoor patio, and a cozy little home with plenty of beds to sleep on. The owners were very responsive and easy to talk to. You would be hard-pressed to find a better spot for the price.
