A propos de ce cabane standardrental
Charming lakefront cabin close to Acadia National Park

A wonderful stay in a cosy house! Great, that we had direct access to the lake and that we had the possibility to use the kayaks!

The cottage was peaceful and a great way to disconnect. We enjoyed being right on the water where the kids could fish and kayak, the provided kayaks were a nice bonus. The kids loved the loft area and the beds were comfortable. We were slightly disappointed the hammock broke on the first day due to dry rot and were nervous when the fire alarm sounded multiple times when we were not even cooking. The water pressure could definitely be better in the kitchen, but all in all the cottage provided us with the perfect place to escape for the week

Our extended family had a great week in this charming & rustic little cabin. Check in was very simple. We especially enjoyed the pond - kayaking, swimming and relaxing on the dock - and listening for loons. The beds were extremely comfortable. The large yard was a nice treat as we enjoyed quite a few wiffle ball games with our 10 year old son. He was so entertained that he did not miss the tv and had almost no screen time the whole week (a minor miracle!). We found that Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, and the Schoodic Peninsula were all close enough for day trips that did not take the whole day - still had pond time and card games when we got home. It was a great week.

We had an amazing 5 night stay on George’s Pond. The cabin has everything you could need (except a fishing pole…which you’ll want to bring)! Very secluded property with a large yard for outdoor games. Nicely updated bathroom and kitchen appliances that blend in with the rustic beauty of the cabin. Two kayaks available (a single and a triple) were great for kayaking to the islands and Diving Rock located right in front of the dock (only about a 100 yard paddle). Water shoes were very helpful for exploring the islands. We drive to Acadia and Bat Harbor twice and hiked Turk Mountain (a 14 minute drive from the cabin). We had a great Lobster Pot dinner at Union River Lobster Pot in Ellsworth. Highly recommend the restaurant (venue, food and price). Scheduled groceries to be delivered by Instacart to the cabin from Hannaford in Ellsworth an hour after our arrival which was so convenient. Staple pantry items, firewood and fishing supplies available 2.2 miles from the cabin at the Franklin Trading Post/Citgo.
We would definitely visit this cabin again. Wouldn’t change a thing.

We stayed here for the second time and loved every moment. VERY clean both times, it’s an old cabin, which is what makes it so charming, but immaculately kept, just gorgeous. The location is great, close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Right on the water with kayaks included, which the kids loved. Very private and quiet property. The hosts recommended some great close-by hiking with breathtaking views. We had to message the host a couple times due to a storm in the area while we were there and they responded right away and were so efficient and helpful. Favorite feature, the huge fireplace! This place is magical and we hope to be back. Only suggestion would be an outdoor hot tub ;-)

This cabin was the perfect spot for our family of five to enjoy a week in Maine. It was conveniently located a short drive from Acadia National Park, but far enough away to give us some peace and quiet and solitude. We really enjoyed the cozy cabin and fireplace, the comfortable beds, the dock, and the beautiful lake views. Our kids loved the kayaks, as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook at the cabin a few evenings. All in all, this was one of the best vacation spots we have found. Thank you Danielle for sharing your cabin with us!

We loved staying at the cabin. It’s rustic charm takes you back to a simpler time. We enjoyed fishing off the dock and sitting by the water. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.

From the first view of the lake to the last amazing sunset, the cabin was just the respite our busy family needed! We hiked Tunk Mt. and lots of hikes in Acadia, biked around the Schoodic Peninsula, kayaked on the lake, and explored Bar Harbor. After fun-filled days, coming back to sit by the fire and watch the stars, or read in the hammock and listen to the looks, was the perfect kind of evening. The host was so helpful with suggestions for restaurants, and we even had some wonderful blueberry pie from the neighbor. Until the next time…

This is the kind of place you can picture generations of a family sharing together over the years. It retains the rustic charm of the original Maine camp, but with upgrades where it matters.
The host provides everything needed to fully enjoy time on the lake with the kayaks, beach towels, outdoor games and furnishings. The diving rock and the sleeping loft were favorites for our kids who are teens/young adults. The cabin is well equipped and furnished, and accented with adorable vintage finds.
The location was perfect for day trips to Acadia and the Schoodic Pennisula and the host shared great tips and recommendations for dining, shopping and activities. She reached out to make sure we had important info prior to arrival, just in case cell phone coverage was impacted.
The sounds and sights of nature were exactly what we hoped for! Wish we could have stayed longer.

We had the best time at this cabin with our family. It is exactly as described. The kayaks were awesome to paddle around George's Pond. The kids had fun fishing, swimming, diving and we saw bald eagles as well on multiple days. From the cabin it is an easy distance to Acadia to enjoy the beauty of the park. Comfortable beds, lots of room to sit and read or build a fire and relax.
Owner was easy to reach and property manager was friendly and quick to fix a small issue we had. The blueberry pie the neighbor makes was amazing!!!
Thanks for a great week!!!!

The cabin is great. Very nice location on a nice, quiet lake. It’s the rustic Maine cabin I remember from trips to Maine as a kid. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great the first few days, but once the sun came out we were able to get outside and take advantage of what the property offers. Got out on the kayaks and sat outside on the nice patio (a little too cool to swim that week although the lake was warmer than I expected). The bed and other furniture were very comfortable and the modern bathroom is a welcome luxury. The only minor drawbacks are that there is not much room to store food if you’re cooking a lot and it’s 20 minutes to town if you need anything. Although, you can apparently get a homemade pie from the neighbor bakery as someone showed up to deliver a pie. It was for another neighbor, unfortunately, but it looked good. All in all, a very nice stay.

What a beautiful piece of property to stay on. The cabin is so quaint and decorated with a stylish eye for detail. We had everything we needed. The bedding was the perfect weight to keep us warm and cozy in the cold mornings. We fished from the dock, ate outside, drank coffee on the porch and soaked up the beautiful scenery while we listened to the loons on the lake. It’s not too far from Ellsworth and national acadia park either to mix things up. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves so much and didn’t want to leave. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We enjoyed our stay and the area surrounding the property. Even though the water was cold, middle of October, we ventured out on the lake in the provided kayaks.

While staying at the rental the owners where texting me that the car was park the wrong way in the middle of the woods . Made me feel like they watching me, felt like no privacy. Also their dog came out to the deck and start barking at my wife .All this made us very uncomfortable and made our experience very disappointed
I will never go back there again

Our multi-generational family (teen kids, myself & husband + my mom) enjoyed our stay on George’s Pond. Nights making s’mores around the fire listening to the loons, days spent reading, playing games, fishing, kayaking & swimming. But mostly slowing down. We went to MDI, Acadia and drove the park loop, went up Cadillac Mt and ate lunch two days in Bar Harbor at Side Street Cafe & Route 66. The weather was perfect other than one day of rain. Unfortunately that was the day we booked to go out on Bottom Line Fisheries in Corea (Schoodic Peninsula) “Catch Your Dinner” lobster tour. Picked up our own lobsters at Hannaford instead the following night. If you are looking for hiking in Acadia & a lakeside retreat this is VRBO is for you! Thank you to our hosts for sharing their summer home with us.

We had a wonderful time stepping away from it all enjoying the fishing and kayaking on the lake and relaxing at this beautiful cozy home.

Beautifully maintained, minimally but well- and elegantly outfitted lakeside cabin in a quiet spot.

Awesome Property
This is a wonderful, authentic Maine summer ‘camp’ and we had a great week here. The pond access was easy to launch kayaks from, we used the provided sit on top kayaks and rented a few more traditional kayaks and enjoyed the pond, fishing and the diving rock almost every day. We did Acadia 2 days and the drive was just eh, it took about an hour both days, but if you want lake and not tidal waterfront, which we did, this property is about as close as you can get. The outdoor shower was a hit with the kids, the beds were comfy, and the loft was the perfect kids space. Numerous places are available for firewood close to the cabin, we had a outdoor fire every day, most days mornings and evenings. We were a little worried about no AC, but the Maine weather was BEAUTIFUL and the one day it did reach mid-80’s and the house got stuffy and warm in the afternoon, by 10 pm with fans in the windows (3 are provided, we brought 2 more) it had cooled to a comfortable sleeping temp both upstairs and downstairs. Our only ‘complaint’ was that the stove sits in the middle of the kitchen and it makes it HOT when you use the oven. Not a huge deal; we will definitely return and plan stove top meals as opposed to oven dinners, but just for planning purposes don’t use the oven on hot days. One suggestion, we got a cheap utility line at Walmart and strung it up between 2 pines to hang wet suits and towels on as the kids swam more than we expected, and it was great to dry stuff quickly and protect the cabin from water damage. We loved this trip, my teens and tween said it was their favorite vacation ever, and we definitely plan to return,

Fantastic Cabin
Our family of 4 loved every minute of our stay. The location on George's Pond was perfect and provided great views. We kayaked every day and my kids loved the diving board. Also a great location for visiting Acadia. We would hike Acadia in the mornings, grab lunch in Bar Harbor and spend the afternoon on the lake.

Relaxing
The house is beautiful and relaxing. And the kids had so much fun on the lake. The only thing you will need to bring is family, clothes and food, everything else is there.
Texted back and forth with owned several times and she was always helpful and quick to respond.
I would highly recommend this property.
But do not forget Mosquito repellent. This part has nothing to do with the property as it does with being in Maine.

Perfect Maine cabin
We loved being on the lake and the cabin was perfect for our family of four. So peaceful, lots of use of the kayaks provided, great yard space, outdoor fires every night, and took daily treks into Acadia and surrounding areas. It was a great spot for our first Maine vacation and just want we wanted, away from all the hustle and bustle.

Our family of 5 stayed in this idyllic ME cabin in mid September, 2021. We enjoyed morning coffee on the sunny deck, warm showers in the bright, newly renovated bathroom, exploring the quiet countryside and hiking Acadia NP in the afternoons, preparing dinner in the quaint kitchen, and playing family games around the dining table in the evenings. One afternoon, we picked out fresh, live lobster from a local lobster pound/restaurant, cooked them in the lobster pot provided, and savored every buttery bite at the picnic tables on the lawn while enjoying the sunset and views of the lake - authentic ME moment! Our 3 daughters absolutely loved the adorably decorated loft and having 5 twin beds to choose from. We found it to be quite chilly a couple of the mornings (basic heating) but used that as an excuse to stay in our cozy beds just a bit longer. We found our stay to be a wonderful, relaxing, retreat that we won't soon forget! Thank you for sharing your camp!
We too have VRBO homes. We'd love to have you as guests: 2026873, 2370296 & 1290031 - Molly

We loved our lake house stay at George’s Pond. The location was very private, but still a 20-minute drive to Ellsworth. It was great to have the dock and access to kayaks to use in the lake. The house was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The location was also less than an hour to Bar Harbor and Acadia, which was convenient. Would absolutely recommend, and would stay here again.

The Cabin- 1800 built camp, rustic no TV, with wifi and all necessary amenities. Perfect for children tweens and teens.
Enjoy the fire pit or the indoor fireplace on cooler evenings or days. Enjoy the breeze and hammock. Unplug and kayak with the Bald Eagles, American Krestles, ducks and loons. Go fishing, swimming and dive off the diving board in the middle of the crystal clear pond. Play games on a rainy day with your family. Only 40 minutes from ar Harbpr and Acadia National park makes this the perfect place to stay if visiting the scenic national park. Though, if I am being honest, it is George's pond and the Hartley Camp that is where the magic happens. So peaceful and serene, swaying in the hammock with a good book and the loons crying as your background music......

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely property celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The cabin is beautifully and thoughtfully presented, meaning that it still retains the coziness of a home away from home, whilst also being super clean. It was well equipped with almost everything that you might need in terms of the kitchen utensils etc. (as clearly laid out in the informative listing) , as well as some unexpected extras like fresh flowers which was such a sweet touch. We were not so lucky with the weather, but it did not matter because the cabin was so lovely to relax in. On the one perfect day we did have, we appreciated the proximity to Acadia National Park, and also enjoyed an afternoon relaxing on the dock on the lake. We had many loon sightings, and just hearing their beautiful call at night and not much else but the crackle of the fire was bliss. We look forward to returning again in summer so we can make the most out of the lakeside location, which was magic. We had very few questions, but the owner Danielle and property manager Greg were both incredibly helpful and friendly, and communication with them was speedy and easy. Our stay at the cabin is definitely a highlight in an unprecedented year, and we will cherish the happy memories we made for a long time to come. We can’t wait to make a return visit, thank you so much!

Downeast Retreat
Our stay was exactly what we were hoping for our Downeast Maine family vacation. The cottage is a traditional Maine camp with all the comforts of home. We immensely enjoyed the location. The cottage is private with a large yard, hammock, fire pit and has numerous spots to sit and enjoy the sounds and views of the pond. Each day we found ourselves kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, swimming, lounging on the dock or water mat and making the short swim to jump off the diving board. We brought bikes and enjoyed exploring the nearby dirt roads, bogs and blueberry barrens. The cottage interior has a homey camp feel with many special and appropriate Maine touches. Most importantly, the beds were very comfortable with nice linens and warm comforters for cool Maine evenings. We loved the outdoor shower and the ample size of the bath & beach towels. This is a special spot for those who want to slow down, unwind and appreciate the simpler things in life.
