Indeling vd kamer. Netheid. Veel aandacht voor detail.
Ontbijt erg goed.
Locatie is iets te ver van centrum.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 8 nights, and so I think we are well placed to give a good overview. Overall, we were really happy with our stay here for the Siargao leg of our trip.
So for the positives, we noted the following:
* While the place is a small boutique hotel with a small footprint, the garden and pool area are lovely and well maintained by the staff. It is a quiet oasis from the noise of the road.
* The staff were all great from start to finish. Zel and team were very helpful. The night guy Mao Tao (probably got the name wrong) was great too. The communication initially via bolkigg by and then via WhatsApp was really good and responsive.
* The rooms are big and have a nice balcony overlooking the garden and pool and it is super chill.
* You can rent your scooter at the property (a necessity really), which was handy.
* Fresh milk in the fridge for teas was a nice touch, especially for Europeans who do not like the American/Asian culture of creamer in coffee/tea instead of milk.
* The big water dispenser was great for filling bottles. All places should have this to reduce single use bottles provided in rooms.
* The efforts to be environmentally friendly/sustainable are good. The bins are divided into recyclable, residual and compost waste. We just wondered what happens this waste once the authorities take it. authorities take it. I.e. is there any infrastructure on the island yet to process recycling or is it still just burned or used in landfill?
* The water flasks are a brilliant idea for cutting down on plastic bottle use. They are handy for filling and bringing to the beach or out and about with you. They also keep the water chilled all day. Great initiative.
* The beach/pool towels are really nice and handy. They are replaced each day and always fresh and fluffy.
Below are a few areas we believe could be taken into consideration by the owner for improvement:
* Given that the accommodation is actually quite a walk from where most of the action is (either north to Cloud 9 area or south towards the town), and they position their price point as the same as a resort like Bravo, which is in the town and along the beach, with similar room standard and a much bigger resort feel, we reckon that breakfast should be included in the price here for it to be well priced for what it is.
* You can walk to GL and to Cloud 9. It is nice once or twice but gets frustrating so you will need to rent a bicycle or scooter each day realistically for exploring.
* Booking things like trips/laundry/bikes through Kalipay is actually quite a bit more expensive for the convenience. We did it with the scooter and for laundry, but their commission is about 30% on everything, so just be aware that if you are willing to do the research/leg work, you can save a good bit using the services directly outside.
* The Kalipay café is actually really nice and chill and we got breakfast and coffees there a couple of times. However, the prices for us were almost as expensive as Ireland, which is such an expensive country even by European standards. The Gelato station is the same expensive prices. Everyone in Siargao charges an absolute premium for things tourists love like gelatos, sun cream and coffees, but the the relative cost of these items relative to things like food and transport etc is exhorbitant. Kalipay is no exception.
* No coffee or shower gel provided in the rooms which is unusual, as everywhere we stayed, these were basics that were provided. A bar of soap is provided instead of shower gel, which is ok but would be nice to have the choice.
* Though you know when booking, that Kalipay has a policy of an 11am check to out, it is very unusual and seems completely unnecessary for such a small hotel. 12 pm is a global standard for check...

This is really a very nice place. There are only 8 rooms . All of which are spacious .. hot water .. air conditioning. Patio .tv and sofa bed. The staff is awesome especially Gian at front desk .. friendly and accommodating (a cake for my wife on her birthday).. Cindy at the resto .. the breakfast and lunch are suburb!! It is quiet place during day and night even tho right on main road .. the swimming pool is always clean and refreshing. .. access to trikes is ample and easy. We met the owner who stopped by one day … dedicated and passionate about making and keeping Kalipay a preferred place to stay!
Nothing really not to like .. a microwave would have been nice

Absolutely nothing is wrong with this property

Calm and relaxed atmosphere. The garden and pool area was so peaceful
The rooms are kept clean daily. Sustainable steps taken - gave us drinking water in the room and reusable water bottle (sterilised) to use during our stay.
The team were very friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. They also gave us some local knowledge about how much tricycle fair was reasonable and provided us with reasonable option when it came to tours. The fact they didn't upsell made us feel looked after.
At night, they also have a security guard which again made us feel safe.
There is a construction being built in top of the restaurant - but they kept the noise to a minimum which wasn't much of an issue.
Their restaurant is on soft launch which meant no dinner service just yet. Hopefully, in the future they will have this up and running. I would like to see a bit more Filipino food on the menu.

Everything! Good Location, huge rooms with an extremely comfortable bed, beautiful garden +pool, very clean, great service from all three of the receptionists... the breakfast was very complete and the girl who managed the restaurant was a gem.
The tour company who works with the hotel are quite poor, overpriced and took us to the wrong tour and then tried to force us to go on it.

Well maintained, park like setting, friendly helpful staff
Adjoining restaurant menu could use some work, restaurant staff/owner could lose their attitude……..

I liked that it was small so everything felt personalized! Every staff we interacted went above and beyond! A family member got sick and they were incredibly accommodating. I won’t forget their generosity, and hope to one day return to Siargao and stay here!
Facilities were great like the pool! And I really enjoyed the garden! They also have 24 hour security, which is a nice touch! Housekeeping came in every day to clean, which was great! There were always towels (shower & beach) for use. The rooms were incredibly spacious; we were 3 people and it didn’t feel like it was crowded.
Nothing

Our stay in Kalipay was beyond our expectations. We requested a birthday surprise and Jen and the team did an amazing job at making it so special for us. We loved the little things - the bean bags, the water dispenser, the beach bag & beach towels. The location is perfect, close to everything and the staff were lovely. Can’t recommend this place enough, coming home to Kalipay was a treat after our long jam packed days! Would stay again
Our air conditioning was leaking frequently however it didn’t bother us too much

Large rooms, excellent customer service, great location
room rate a bit pricey, subpar breakfast

The space and different areas of the place added value to our overall experience
It’s a beautifully set out area and the rooms are very spacious

The pool and common areas are very nice. The cafe has great potential but not really working yet.
There is a lot of light coming into the room which makes it very hard to sleep past sunrise time. The bed is very hard, feels like a stone.
The toilet has sewage smell, but after traveling in the Philippines for some time now maybe that’s common in many places.
It’s a bit far to reach the main area with restaurants and cafes.

Loved the location. Quiet. Great pool.. n8c3 garden and grounds. Helpful and excellent staff. Great room, perfect. Big with a couch. Refrigerator full of nice things. Big umbrellas to use. Great restaurant and espresso! Would definitely go back.

The resort is relatively new; all rooms are suites that are well maintained and cleaned. The resort's grounds are very nice and well maintained. The pool is perhaps the cleanest resort pool I've seen in the Philippines. Staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast is reasonably priced and tasty.
The bed mattresses are VERY firm. The couch in the living room portion of the suite is rather uncomfortable. The restaurant area is open only for breakfast. I would like it to be available for drinks and snacks in the evening as well.

Wonderful albeit short stay at Kalipay. Lovely facilities and room, with lots of small considerate touches to improve the guest experience. Really nice staff and great pool. Located within walking distance of great restaurants and a bike ride to all that general Luna and cloud 9 have to offer.
The only thing we didn’t like is that we didn’t stay long enough.
7.0 / 10.0
Nice place , small and intimate with a lovely garden and surroundings
Power issues, multiple power failures on a daily basis, the cooking facilities in the room were in place but couldnt be used, no microwave. Plumbing in bathroom could do with upgrade

favourite hotel we stayed in! Jennifer was the best at her job! She made great recommendations for things to do and places to eat! The pool was so clean and well kept. resort was peaceful. Rooms were perfect, I really liked the layout of the rooms, how well equipped the rooms were, and how they gave a water cooler.
lots of mosquitoes, the restaurant for breakfast was not very good, cost was a bit high for a « resort » in the Philippines that doesn’t have a lot of amenities that usually go with a resort. there was construction going on so maybe improvements to come!

The room was spacious and the staff were very accommodating. The pool was very nice too. It was also quiet and peaceful, away from the parties.
The location is a bit far from the restaurants but it was okay since it provided me the peaceful break i needed.

warm pool, clean rooms, quality towels, great staff, silence during the night, 2 min walk to "spotted pig" with great coffee and good breakfast selection, 1 min walk to amazing restaurant "cev". Loved every minute of our stay here.
pillows, but only that. everything else - amazing

Excellent location between General Luna and Cloud9. Quiet location but not far from restaurants.
The staff is so nice, helpful and welcoming.
The room is comfortable and well equipped.
The bathroom is hot because the window is always opened to the outside.
9.0 / 10.0
swimming pool, cleanliness, hospitality, lively size with only 8 rooms so felt like a home from home
the only downside was the kitchenette which doesn’t yet have gas fitted to cook your own meals, but there are 2 amazing restaurants a 2 min walk away for dinner.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kalipay Resort.
The staff are incredible. They are all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful with information and tips.
They made us feel like family right from our arrival.
Big thanks to Totong, John John, Ruel around the grounds and security, and Jen and Jian in the office. We were lucky enough to meet James, the owner. A great guy with tons of knowledge and very friendly to chat or answer our many questions.
The property is beautiful and extremely well maintained. We especially loved the deep swimming pool and took advantage of the cool water temp every day.
Our room was very spacious and immaculately clean.
It was very well appointed with coffee maker, coffee and a kettle. Loved the nice big 5 gallon jug of fresh water on the counter. This is a very NICE to have!
The bed was fantastic - including the great pillows (I am super pillow picky) linens and fresh smelling towels.
Cleaned lovingly with a fine tooth comb every day... it will be very hard to adjust back to normal life after our experience here!
LOVED the big bathroom and amazing shower!
BTW whatever magic potions they use to make the rooms smell absolutely wonderful, we want!!! How nice to come HOME to a beautiful, clean, cool, suite that smells like heaven after a long day of LAND TOURS in the heat and humidity.
We practically emptied our stocked minibar nearly every day. Prices were very fair and we got addicted to some of the yummy local snacks. (Jen said we set a record for the largest mini-bar tab ever? I have to think the Kiwi and Aussie next door during our stay won?).
The wifi was a bit spotty but it is the same all over the island. They have two systems to counter each if there are issues.
We loved the location and proximity to local cafes, restaurants, and shops.
There are many convenience stores across the island and one just a minutes walk from the resort.
We look forward to our next visit to our Siargao "home away from home".
Hoping they get the coffee shop open again for our next visit.

First thing is first, Gian is the most lovely, cheerful and helpful angel we have ever met. From the moment we got to Kalipay she greeted us with the kindest smile and helped us with absolutely everything with scooter hire, surf bookings and recommendations, general questions and information it was very refreshing. As for the accommodation it was a dream. If someone was to open their own resort and ask me for advice I would tell them to copy Kalipay, the shower, the room, the water just everything is perfect. We stayed only 3 days in Siargao and that is still my biggest regret since being back. If I could do my whole Philippines trip again I would spend much more time here, every single staff member from the cleaners, to security, to the gentleman who was taking care of the garden are all so kind and accomodating.
ALSO THEY HAVE THE BEST COCONUTS ON ARRIVAL!
There was nothing to not like, the best thing about Kalipay is you are far away enough from Siargao Centre where you don't need to deal with the noise and traffic but close enough where if you need to get absolutely anywhere you are more than close enough. Also exactly opposite the resort is the best and every morning when the weather allowed us we would just cross the road and enjoy the sunrise with the cutest hermit crabs.

We were in a spacious apartment that was super clean. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We received fresh coconuts upon arrival. There were reusable bottles that you could fill with filtered water.

Very big comfortable rooms. Quiet at night. Good location - 5 minutes from both General Luna town proper and Cloud 9 by bike/trike - the best of both. Very easy to get around.
Staff were incredible. Nothing was too much trouble. They are so welcoming and helpful.
I would definitely stay here again

The service was exceptional ALL the staff were so so lovely and really went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. The resort is located next to nice cafés and restaurant and is about 5 minutes away from general Luna and cloud 9 by motorbike.
Nothing at all to fault
