The welcome from the staff was brilliant,very friendly Rooms were very clean and great size and with the most amazing view of the snow covered mountains and the autumn foliage The four private onsens were a great way to spend time after a day hiking,loved the outside Onsen Should have spent another day there !!

2 outdoor and 2 indoor onsen are private ones in very good size without extra cost. They are available on first come first served basis but we did not need to wait at all. Room comfortable and clean.

A bit run down

The hotel is decorated in Japanese style. The staff was friendly and explained all you need to know—also, loved the big outdoor onsen. There are 2 outdoor onsens and 2 indoor onsens. Worth the price. This hotel is a 5-minute drive to Akandana parking lot. Free parking space.

There was no meal at the hotel but restaurants nearby. They also provided hot coffee, which cost 100 yen.

Great location, Hirayu is a beautiful onsen village which is perfect for exploring Kamikochi and the whole area. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Best of all- Beautiful private baths!

Free access to 4 lovely Onsen baths (2 indoors, 2 outdoors), large comfortable room with large windows and great location in Hirayu Onsen, close to the bus station and withing walking distance of restaurants and local attractions like Hirayu waterfall and Onezuko.

Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't cater for breakfast (anymore?), but there are good options around. Some rooms have shared bathrooms, but showers only seem to be available in the Onsen baths.

1) size of the rooms 2) private onsens for hotel guests only 3) good value for money: at this price that is noticeably cheaper than others in the area, you get access to onsens, showers and basic amenities.

Overly simplistic decorations in rooms and common areas; no meal options and none of the other Ryokan facilities like gardens etc.. But all these are small matters considering the price.

Private onsens are the best here, staff is also polite, multilingual, and location also good.

Staff was really warm and welcoming. Traditional rooms were very clean and comfortable. Magic atmosphere in all the onsen! We loved everything of our stay! 😊

The private onsen were really nice. The room was spacious (though plain). Staff was really friendly.

Shared bathroom was only open between 3pm and 9am. So if you want to sleep a little longer, then there you don’t have any shower facilities. The showers are at the indoor onsen, so if these 2 are occupied, then showers are not accessible either.
