Was wonderful and very unique. Loved the property. There’s hiking off Fish Creek Rd we didn’t realize until last day. Saw 3 moose, elk, deer, coyote, fox, and skunk along Fish Creek. Property owners kind and responsive, live on site next to the home. Worked with them on a bit of a mouse problem.

We had a great stay for three nights in the Hobbit House. It is a nice, spacious and unique place to stay. Great master bedroom upstairs and large downstairs bar and galley kitchen and sitting area with TV and huge beams. Our host was nice and very attentive. Only a few miles outside of Wilson and back in the woods but it was not hard to find. Also not far from Teton Village. As others have noted and we were told, it is best for either one couple or parents and their kids.

Unusual and interesting house that made for a comfortable stay.

Felt like staying in a small castle. Amazing structure and art artifacts. Quite in the woods. Only comment would be a need for the host to check the light bulbs. Took a little while to figure out the in-floor heating system.
Loved this one of a kind lodging experience.

One of our best family vacations ever! We have stayed all over Europe and the USA and this home is an architectural stunner! It looked like every beam, window, sink, piece of hardware, flooring, etc. was sourced from Old World construction. This is one of the coolest houses we have every stayed in. The huge fireplace was great for family gatherings, and the galley kitchen with top of the line appliances was perfect for meal prepping. The bedrooms are far enough away to offer privacy, yet open and airy with lots of natural light so you can enjoy the beauty outside. Theo the owner was super helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hidden gem.

Truly an unique and amazing house. My daughter and I were on our 7th annual father/daughter flyfishing trip to Jackson/Wilson, and this place is the most amazing place we've stayed so far. Everything about it is truly one-of-a-kind. It was secluded and quiet, and at the same time, served as a great location to have dinner guests. We both loved the ambience and charm. LeeAnn, Theo and and their young son Kip are excellent hosts, and their two doggos are pretty amazing as well. We'd give more stars if it were possible.

This place was fantastic. The builder employed so many details that you won't ever see on a traditional home. Every room has interest and charm that made our time in the home a real joy. We spent the days enjoying God's creation but coming back to this home was a treat. All of the facilities and kitchen appliances were in good working order and we chose to cook several meals during our stay and had everything we needed. My wife, grown daughter and I stayed here and the space was perfect for our stay. I hope to visit the area again in the future during the fall and I would certainly try to stay here again. The owner lives on the property and made themselves available for anything we needed. I highly recommend!! If I had to come up w/ a recommendation for improvement, it would be for more light on the bar and/or living area.

We had a great time in Wilson in this eclectic home. The hosts were great and gave perfect recommendations for restaurants . We are grateful they are dog friendly and our dog played with their dogs. We are from a place that doesn't have bugs and there was a fair amount of bugs. We were there during some unusually hot weather and they don't have screens on the windows, so that was a little issue for us. Overall, a great experience.

Great stay
We enjoyed the quiet location, but still close to all of the amenities of Jackson. The home was very unique and the owners were very hospitable and responsive.

Two week winter getaway
My wife, brother in law, myself, and our pet cat and dog, stayed here for two weeks in late February 2022. The property itself is very unique, and we thought it was perfect for our group for that amount of time (couple on the top floor, single on the bottom floor). The living area may have gotten a little crowded if there was a fourth person in our party, but for shorter periods of time it’d be a piece of cake. As far as location is concerned, it worked very well for us - we were frequent travelers to Teton Village, Jackson Town/Snow King, and the Grand Targhee resort in Alta, and the house is basically right in between all of that. We’d love to go back in the summer in order to hike and fish in the area. It was however a bit of a hike getting back and forth on the main road to the property - it’s tucked pretty well back in there! The hosts were great and easy to communicate with, the actual listing is similar to a (very fancy) guest house on a larger property, so they were very close by.

An awesome retreat for you and your pet!
Stayed at this property with my partner and one adult friend (and her pup!) for a week. We all loved our stay! The property is gorgeous and the house provides such a cozy retreat after a day out on the hill. There are tons of interesting (and beautiful!) antique touches throughout the home that made this a unique vs cookie-cutter rental experience. Theo and LeeAnn were great hosts - coming by to introduce themselves, their dogs and showing us how to use the fireplace. Dogs were great hosts too - they played with our pup every day in the snow! We hope to come back and visit in summer. A must stay.

Unique place
This is a very cozy and unique property. There is snowshoeing a mile away. We had tons of snow but the roads were well plowed and it was no problem. My husband loved the wood burning fireplace

Simply Amazing
I cannot express how wonderful this property is and how accommodating the hosts are. We are the kind of people who seek out off-the-beaten-path adventures and this was perfect for us. The setting is beautiful- secluded and serene. It made for the perfect storybook Christmas. It was so nice to go out for the day and experience town, ski at JHMR, shop, eat out, etc. But at the end of the day, it was nice to come home to such a relaxing environment. The home is cozy, well kept and has everything you need. We were able to cook breakfast and dinner each night, which was fantastic. The beds were extremely comfortable and the heated floors were so cool. There’s something about walking around on warm stone when it’s 20 degrees and snowing outside. A couple of notes…If you are coming in winter, you’ll need a four-wheel drive vehicle. If you have one, the drive to town is easy, as the driveway and roads are well plowed. The water at the property is really good. I say this because you really don’t need to buy bottled water if you are environmentally conscious. The refrigerator storage is plenty for a weeks stay if you are deliberate with your grocery shopping. We made breakfast everyday and dinner 3 nights. I did have a challenge storing some left overs, but LeAnn was able to take some items off my hands as to not waste anything. Both LeAnn and Theo were so welcoming and helpful. It feels like we made new friends. I would recommend this property without hesitation. It was perfect for our family of 4. However, if you want to be the middle of all the hustle and bustle, this is not your spot. What a charming property - straight out of Hogsmeade. Thanks, Theo and LeAnn for sharing your beautiful home!!

Unique and peaceful
We loved the house! There are so many fun spaces to relax and enjoy the beautiful views.
We were looking for a peaceful escape and found it at the Hobbit House. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be returning!

It was just what we were looking for. In the base of the mountain with wildlife viewable everyday. Close to town and dining. We wanted for nothing.

Charming, but not the perfect fit for our party of 4
This is a unique and charming property in a great location for those who want to get away and enjoy nature and wildlife. We saw a moose in the front yard and a bear cub up a tree a few hundred feet down the road. We loved that! The owners were warm and accommodating. We had a tough time with the overall rating, though, because, when it comes to this property, I think the rating depends on who you are, and the listing could have used a few more details to help us decide if it would work for our party. So, in that spirit…If you’re looking for something totally private and secure, this is not for you. The photo looks like the place stands alone, but it doesn’t. It’s adjacent to a main house where the owners live, and it is connected by an underground hallway. Because we had no keys and no way to lock the house, we were a bit uncomfortable with this. The owners were very respectful of our privacy and did not visit or stop by, however, we didn’t feel the seclusion that the photo implied. Overall, if you’re a couple traveling alone, this property is probably a better fit for you than if you are two couples, as we were. The master bedroom and bath suite is well appointed and has many wonderful features (just as captured in the listing photos). The secondary bedroom is quite different. It is quite a way from the half-bath in the living room, and the three flights of stairs were a long haul in the middle of the night—even for our young 35-year-old friends. There isn’t really a sitting area, dresser, closet or much space to set belongings on in the second bedroom, which was difficult for our friends. They had to store things upstairs and trek back and forth. It didn’t bother us to have our friends share the shower in the master bath (since it’s the only one), but, this might not be the best for some people. The design of the home has a very open feel, with the only two interior doors being for the two bathrooms. No doors on the bedrooms. This is part of the unique look of the home, but, for some people traveling with friends or family, this could be an issue. Having no curtains on the windows gave a very open feeling to the outdoors and didn’t bother us—but some might prefer privacy in the bathrooms, etc., especially with others on site. We loved the small kitchen and bar-like setting. It was delightful and made us feel like we were staying in an historic place. So, long story short, this is a great property for the right people. We enjoyed

Just wonderful
We had a great 10-day stay in this truly one of a kind property. The house was clean and kitchen was well equipped. Owner Theo is very responsive and helpful for whatever we needed. There was a family of moose living in the backyard(well, forest to be exact) and they visited frequently. Highly recommended!

Woodland Country House near Tetons
This is a very unique stay. It is about 10 minutes from Wilson, WY and there are no other ways in so you drive along a creek and then up a gravel road to the house.
The main part of the house reminds me of an old english pub and while there is everything you need to cook, is it is a confined space so best to do most of the cooking on the grill. The living area has several comfortable spots to sit with a large fireplace and tv. Upstairs is the main guest suite and the only full bath. The bed is comfortable and even thought the place doesn't have a/c, it cools do nicely overnight.
The tower is definitely an interesting place to sleep. It does feel a little like they put in an extra bed so have an extra bed. The stairs leading down take up the majority of the room and at the bottom there is a long hall that leads to there garage and laundry that can't be closed off. So the place is not completely detached. There is also no bathroom down there so you have to climb the stairs back to the main area if you need to go or get shower.
The hosts were very communicative about issues like bears in the area. While there was initially no wifi in the main house, we figured out the next day it was due to no power going to the outlets in the tower. There was still decent enough cell service in the area. Once the wifi was working it was good enough to watch Netflix or make zoom calls.

Second stay at the Hobbit House!
Wonderful second stay at the Hobbit House with our two daughters. Such a special spot in the world. Truly a unique and highly favorable experience to be away from the hustle and bustle of Jackson. On our way to and from town we would often see Moose and their offspring-- that was a really special treat! Loved the resident greeter pups and kitty. Theo and LeeAnn are lovely hosts and we hope we have to opportunity to come back once again!

Uniquely comfortable property - Semi remote
We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were kind and helpful. This was a very unique and charming home in terms of architectural style and antique furnishings. It was quiet, cozy, surrounded by forest and even had a stream. Our pup really loved it here. He was so comfortable. He didn’t want to leave. We enjoyed it too. It’s a very comfortable and quaint home. The only negatives are bugs and travel time to Jackson and Teton village. The road to get in has a 20 /30mph speed limit and summer traffic getting in and out of Jackson is very slow so while you think you aren’t far from things mileage wise, the drive times are longer than we prefer. We usually prefer walkability but chose this property because it was dog friendly and beautiful. The other issue is there is no AC do you have to leave windows open without screens which very normal in the west but the result is flies and other insects at night which was not a big issue for me but my boyfriend is a city kid so he didn’t care for that part.
Last, while it is very remote, the owners home is very close and while it wasn’t an issue for us I could imagine it being even more spectacular experience to be privately secluded on this beautiful property.

Gorgeous property with everything you need
Renting this property was a great experience. The owners were responsive and attentive. The house was lovely. We had everything we could possibly need. The neighbors are wonderful, as well. The owners even helped us with a rental car as we were struggling to find one. We had such a great time here. I would definitely stay here again. The comfort and hospitality were exceptional.

Perfect getaway
This home was the perfect getaway for our family! The location was lovely. We were able to stargaze and watch wildlife right from our home away from home. We grilled and ate dinner outdoors in the evenings as my daughters played in the yard. It was an ideal getaway from our city. Theo and LeeAnn are the perfect hosts and treated us like their friends. I would move in permanently if I could! If you are looking for a comfortable setting away from the hustle and bustle of Jackson, I cannot recommend this enough!

Winter Wonderland
This was an incredibly cozy spot to escape. We wanted to experience Jackson without the crowd. This unique house tucked away in a forest outside of Wilson, WY was perfect. There is a great hiking/snow shoe trail nearby (Phillips canyon) and you are close enough to Jackson that you can enjoy all of the associated activities if desired. We brought book, games, took naps, and enjoyed yoga on the heated floors. This is a wonderfully relaxing spot.

Amazing Chateau in the Snow
Loved our stay and amazing location. The home is incredible with a fireplace big enough to stand in. Everything was perfect and Theo was a great host and even brought over some cooking supplies we forgot. Best rental house we have ever stayed in.
Just make sure you have 4WD and good tires in the winter. We did and it added to the experience driving the snowy roads.

Secluded Winter Getaway
Beautiful place that is so unique in design and style. It gives such a different feel and perspective of Jackson and Wilson area without being too far away from all the attractions and sites to see of Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Jackson.
Slow internet speeds, otherwise spectacular.
Owners were great hosts that went out of their way to help make our stay amazing. They even kindly walked our dog while on a long all day excursion.

Unique house in the woods
Our experience at this house was wonderful. If you’re looking to get away from it all this is the place. It’s is enchanting. Theo and Leanne are fabulous host and super helpful. We had zero problems our entire stay. The wildlife and the sound of the creek were amazing. It’s fairly far from town, that’s neither good nor bad just depends on the renter’s desires.
