First the lock on the door. Need’s to be replaced and management knew it before we got there. The deck needs to be replaced around the pool. The rest of the deck needs replaced also. Nail heads sticking out from about 1/16’- 1/8” everywhere on the deck. Weeds growing up through the deck. The bedroom with the Queen size bed did not have screws on one of the bed rails. No ice maker in refrigerator or garbage disposal in sink. Terrible waste of our money. No drapes in the King sized bedroom on the second floor. When the neighbors turned on porolights at night it lights up the room, also the ceiling fan ticks. Never Again. Shame on you for charging so much for such a depleted property.

The home was perfect for our family beach vacation! The pool was especially a treat, clean and the right size for us from Grandpa to our 6 year old grandson! We were especially pleased with how clean everything was and loved the equipped kitchen! We would love to return sometime! The owners were great with communication too!

We’ve been coming to Emerald Isle 1-2x year for 10 years now, and this, by far is our favorite beach house. Lovely decor, comfortable seating and beds. This was our second stay here, and it was as spotlessly clean and well appointed as ever. We love that there are three oceanfront bedrooms with walk out decks and quality rockers/seating. Also love that we don’t have to carry groceries to the top floor. Great views of the beach, just steps away. Everyone loves the pool. Already booked our third return. This beach house is pure bliss!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The ocean is so close that you see and hear the surf easily from the balconies. The pool was bigger than I thought it would be and we spent a ton of time in it. Well-appointed home that was attractive and comfortable, hosted by a super nice and very communicative couple.

Loved that the pool was steps from the main level. Super quick walk to the beach. Very nicely decorated, cute loft, and plenty of parking.

The property was great. We loved the house and the setting. The owners were very cooperative, and responded quickly to our questions and requests. One suggestion might be to replace the tub liner in the 3rd floor bath. We avoided using it.

This was a perfect place to stay with family and friends. The pool was so nice to have, especially for the small kids that couldn't go in the ocean on rough days. The house is very nice and comfortable.

We visit Emerald Isle 1-2x each year the past 9 years, and have loved all the oceanfronts we’ve stayed at, but Great Expectations East tops our list. Beautifully decorated with quality furnishings and appliances. There was no fighting over who gets the best bedroom because all were beautiful, spacious, well appointed, and had mattresses that even my herniated disc loved! Never slept better. Spotlessly clean and well organized so finding household needs was effortless. With a baby that often cried at night, I found the bedrooms well insulated from sound because all but mom slept through it. Haha! The pool was pure joy, and my hubby loved surf casting steps from the house. Fishing was good! Location was perfect. Close to all our favorite shops and restaurants, but out of the high traffic areas, both on the road and on the beach. Owners are lovely to work with, check in was easy, and in a word, this place is perfect! We’ve already paid our deposit for next year and plan for it to be one of many future stays at EI.

Another great week at this property in Emerald Isle. Already looking forward to next year.

Such a great location and beautiful home! The view of the ocean is amazing from so many different locations in the house. All beds were comfortable and the house was nicely stocked! We really enjoyed our stay! Would definitely stay here again!!

This was everything it promised! Beautifully done home, very clean and great beds! This was our first time to the island and found it to be one of our favorite destinations. We will be back and will definitely be booking again.

This is our second stay at this home. We loved our week at the beach. The home was clean and ready for our arrival. Check in was easy. Communication with the owner was always quick and easy. The home is well equipped with everything you might need for your stay-- the kitchen has plenty of plates, bowls, coffee mugs, cups, eating utensils, pots and pans. There is plenty of room for at least 10 people at the dining room table. The living room sitting area is comfortable for 6-7 people. The living room and all the bedrooms had TVs with lots of viewing options. We used the decks on the first and second floor-- it was a great place to have morning coffee while looking at the ocean- and watching the dolphins go by. The 2nd floor deck has nice rocking chairs for watching sunrises and sunsets. The bedrooms are bright and clean. The sheets and towels are nice and in good condition. Plenty of towels were provided. The beach access is right off the 1st floor deck. It was wonderful to walk out the door, down the boardwalk and to the beach! So much easier than lugging things back and forth in the car or down a long walkway. We only dipped our toes in the pool-- there is no heater (we knew that before we rented). The pool guy came mid week to give it a good cleaning. There are some minor signs of wear and tear in the home. Most of this comes from being on the ocean and a continual stream of renters. It did not stop us from enjoying our week in any way. We are looking at booking a week for 2023.

Our group of eight were very comfortable in this home. It was very well equipped with beautiful finishes and quality kitchenware. WiFi worked excellent with no issues. We really enjoyed how close it was to the beach. We’ve rented a number of houses right on the beach, but this was the shortest walk with the least number of steps to the house that we’ve ever had. It made running back into the house for something very easy. We had great communication with the host every step of the way! Thank you Melissa and Eric!

Kid heaven, Everything was so convenient the pool facing out to the ocean absolutely phenomenal bedrooms facing the open water of the beautiful Emerald Isle Beach loved it loved it talk it

Our stay was great! We had a couple minor issues when we first got there due to the previous renters but the owners got someone from the rental agency out quickly to take care of them. The kitchen was nicely stocked with cookware and dinnerware as well as food staples (salt, pepper, oil, etc). The bathrooms had hair dryers and there were more bath towels than you could ever use! The open concept first floor makes it easy to be prepping in the kitchen and still involved in everything else going on or keeping an eye on the pool. We had 2 families- 4 adults, an almost 4 year old, 3 year old, and 2 almost 1 year olds and the house worked perfectly for us! The two preschoolers could share the bedroom on the top floor, the two babies got their own rooms, as did each couple. The pool was the perfect size for families with little ones. My almost 4 year old could comfortably swim on her own with an adult close by at all times. The walk to the beach is really short which is great for young kids who quickly change their mind about where they want to be. Having the option of a pool and the beach is great especially with such small kids. It is nice to be able to lay by the pool while your young kids nap rather than be kept inside. We will definitely be keeping this property in mind for another year!

This is the most beautiful place tucked away on a quiet beach with plenty of space. Our family had all the amenities we needed. The property manager was very responsive. Melissa and Eric were excellent hosts. We would highly recommend for anyone.

Best location ever! We've been to Emerald Isle several times but have never stayed so close to the beach. We literally could put our toes in the sand in less than 30 seconds. The views were incredible, even from the pool. Loved the decor and layout of the home. Kitchen was stocked. An earlier reviewer mentioned the labels throughout the house. That actually caught my attention as well. Nice touch. This was our first time staying in a duplex and renting through VRBO. It was such a nice experience that we will definitely do it again...especially if it's this property.

We had a wonderful stay! The location can’t be beat and the house had a nice layout that gave everyone plenty of space. The house was in great shape and very clean.

It was the perfect house and location. Everything was labeled in the kitchen which was awesome. The private pool was an added bonus. We would definitely book this house again .

This was my family’s first time visiting Emerald Isle and this house was truly the icing on the cake! We had 6 adults and 5 children with us. We all had plenty of room to sleep, relax, and even eat together as a family. The view from each deck was amazing!! There was a constant breeze that kept you cool no matter how hot the sun was. The pool was perfect for the kids to play in after a day at the beach or a night out. The walk to the beach was incredible, no need to worry about forgetting anything at the house because it was just a quick walk back to get it! We truly cannot say enough great things about this house. It was clean, spacious, and just perfect for our family vacation! I hope we are able to return someday!

We wanted to do something very special with our sons, daughter in laws, and grandchildren. Our stay on Emerald Isle fit the bill perfectly!!!! Our ages were 73-8 years of age and everyone had a great time. Thank you so much!!!!!!!

We stayed at this beautiful home right on the beach with our extended family. We laughed around the pool. Played bocce on the beach, built sand castles & jumped in the waves of the ocean. The house was STOCKED.. Pots, platters, bowls, plates, towels, pitchers, measuring cups... Just about everything you could need when making a meal, obviously not your food/drinks but just about any kitchen item.All beds were super comfy, lovely, big bathrooms. The hosts were amazing. Everything is spelled out, labels on everything! 3 vacuums, one on each floor, which was great with 4 kids bringing in sand. In every closet was a box fan if you like the extra noise, but we loved cracking the window and listening to the ocean! You are that close! Bring binoculars to check out dolphins and fishing boats passing by. Also each TV had cable and the upstairs had a DVD player with movies for the kids to watch before bed each night. We did not want to leave and will certainly be booking again! Don't hesitate! This is the place you want to stay! Just book it! Thanks Melissa and Eric for sharing your wonderful home!!!

My family and I had an amazing week at Emerald Isle. The weather was incredible and it was not busy at all this time of year. We had the beach virtually to ourselves. The house is very clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for everyone to have their own area when needed. The owners were very responsive and helpful with suggestion on things to do. We rented bikes for the week and the route along Ocean Drive to get ice cream, breakfast or lunch, was perfect!!! This is a week we won’t soon forget. ❤️

We stayed here for my daughters spring break. The owners and the management company were wonderful and welcoming. The house, which looked great online, was even more amazing in person. The pool was clean and enjoyable. The bathrooms were really nice and the beds were amazing! I would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful home on a gorgeous, private part of Emerald Isle beach. Home decor is lovely and exactly like the pictures. Very spacious and perfect layout for family of 9. Had a great week of walking the beach, riding bikes, and much needed downtime reading books by the pool. Visited the Aquarium on the one rainy day. Beds were all very comfortable and really loved all the bathrooms on the different floors. Emerald Isle Homeowners who handle the property management were extremely responsive to a few very minor issues and had their people out to the house within a half hour both times. Highly recommend!!

The house was well kept. We had a wonderful time. It was very easy to navigate the area. Most things were 5-10 minutes away. Beautiful ocean front to sit and watch the waves from the rear deck by the pool. Property as described. Would stay here again most certainly!!

First of all, the house is beautiful. The pictures are exactly as the house looks when you walk in the front door. Plenty of room for our family reunion. Love the big kitchen table where we could congregate for family meals or play games. Labels everywhere to help you locate what you need. The location is perfect - literally on the beach. The neighbors were also having a family reunion. They were friendly and didn't hear them from inside the house. We would love to stay here again!
