Really nice and quiet place, great for big families, big open living room with great views. We would stay here again.

Four adults that stayed for the weekend. The place was very clean and it was great for all our needs for the weekend.

The house is located in a cool spot on the lake. Plenty of room for parking. Upon entering the house and sitting on the couch for the first time, I was stung by a wasp. I then realized that there were wasps throughout the house. Some dead and many alive. They were on the ground, walls, ceiling, furniture, and windows. After contacting the property manager I was not offered any immediate help. The next day, the maintenance worker brought by some wasp spray which I thought was extremely unsatisfactory. I figured they would offer to come inside and dispose of and clean up the wasps. They did not seem to care much. Communication was very poor at this point. They did nothing to try and remedy the situation. I tried calling their “office” phone as well but never got an answer. I was never offered a discount or anything of the sort. After finally killing all of the wasps we were able to enjoy a little peace. The kitchen stove is all out of whack though. The burners are not level and hard to cook on with consistent heat. Overall, don’t expect much from this house in the way of cleanliness, amenities, communication, or guest support. But the location is great.

Enjoyed our stay at this location for a guys deer hunting weekend. Very clean and plenty of room. Quick response from the owner. We would stay here again.

This is the 3rd time my ladies hiking group has stayed in this house. Great house with fantastic sunset views. Will no doubt stay there again. The only issues we had were no extra linens, and no detergent for the dishwasher and the half bath had some tiles that were loose and higher than the others. Linens and detergent were brought to the house the first night after being requested. The floor felt soft in that bathroom. hopefully this will be fixed by our next visit. Overall we had a great trip. 5 other houses in the same area were rented by our group also.

We have stayed in this house for 4-5 days each of the last four summers. My husband grew up on the lake of Egypt and we like to take our kids (7 and 10) back to visit, plus have our in-laws in for dinner and playing cards on the porch. The view is really nice as you walk in. Also, unlike many other lake properties the land is flat to the water and there are few or no stairs on the property. The screened in side porch is great. Owners have made some nice additions including an extra bedroom. My kids love the paddle boards and kayaks and the paddle boat that is new this year. The quiet cove the property is on provides a safe space for children to swim or fish without being right in the boat area. Owners/hosts are responsive and easy to work with. It gets four stars instead of five because it needs a good deep clean, and some upgrades to the kitchen and bath. As with many properties that are rented frequently, some of the kitchen items are hit and miss. This year there was no salt or pepper, no measuring spoons, and the coffee maker and pot don’t match so they don’t fit together well. Still, it suits our needs perfectly and we will be back next year. I was able to cook for 6-8 in the kitchen and when we ran out of gas in the grill, we were immediately directed to another tank on site.

We had an amazing time at the lake house. My family enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards provided. Staff were extremely helpful and made sure our visit was wonderful. I even bumped into the cleaning crew who were polite and so sweet. I know my family will definitely book this lake house again!

The first thing we noticed was the dirty table and chairs in the kitchen. They were so sticky we had to give them a good scrubbing before we could sit down. The kitchen window was extremely dirty. The screen was torn on the outside patio and the furniture out there had to be wiped down too. The decking outside was really dirty and needed a good sweeping. After the first night we noticed little black/brown specs on our sheets. I just thought it was stuff falling off the blanket or something and brushed them off. They appeared the next night as well. On the third night we were getting inquisitive and started googling what it could be. We started taking pics of the spots. On the 4th day one of my sisters started having bites on her. We hadn’t left the house except to go on the deck so we weren’t sure what was causing the bites. We started checking the mattresses and sheets and found more specs and red smear spots on one of the mattresses which looked like blood. At that time we started checking all the mattresses and couch cushions and found lots of dirt, crud and hair. We also found lots of dirt and hair under the beds and furniture. On the fifth day, I notified the owner of our concerns and he said he would check them out on Monday. The house needs a really good cleaning and need to spray for bugs/spiders. The tiles on the kitchen floor were sticking up and caused us to trip. Nice view of lake. Internet was good. We know to check beds first thing next time we rent.wont return

overall the house and views of lake was great. There was no can opener or basic condiments like salt pepper. The blue kayak ropes are dry rotted and has a hole in bottom. We found out about hole upon going out on lake and kayak filled up with water. Also the bathrooms have a sewer problem backing up and monday morning not working. Called it into office. Overall the setup was perfect and views outstanding.

Some things were great and some were ok. The flouring in the house was uneven in some parts. I tripped over a raised tile in the kitchen. Figuring out the heating unit was hard since we finally realized the heaters and ac were fighting against eachother. The side door to go on the porch couldn't figure out to open. Everything needs a better job of being cleaned. Smelled musty when we arrived. Otherwise the stay was great. Communication with rental owners were great. Location was beautiful. Just some small things need to be worked on.

Great area and very cozy house. The view from the living room window was fantastic. Definitely would recommend and will be back myself.

The house is great, reasonably priced and the management team made it easy.

Came to the area to see the parks and look at properties in the area. Hit Garden of the gods, Feryne Cliff, Giant City (definitely go for the chicken dinner)! We at at the Mexican at Macks Marina, very good and Walts in Marion, it was ok but definitely not Chicago Italian :) The house is in a good location still a drive to get to things and restaurants but not bad -watch for Deer, out all hours. Nice area to take a walk, beautiful sunsets. Didn't use the kayaks but nice that they are provided. House says it is for 12 but it would be hard since only one shower. If you stay with a large amount of people I would bring a large frying pan. Other than that it was fine for our needs.

Had a wonderful stay

The location and view of Lake of Egypt is wonderful. We had a great time with family and fishing! Somewhat disappointed with the cleanliness of certain parts of the house. Baseboards do not look like they have ever been cleaned, some drawers and cabinets were very dirty, some of the flours need dusted and washed, under the beds need swept more often, and the house needs some deep cleaning and tender loving care!

Enjoyed quiet neighborhood and beautiful portion of Lake of Egypt .Huge main room and basics provided . Best was private dock and use of kayaks and paddle boards making a fun time to see the fingers of the lake . If you like running beautiful Quiet roads . We went during the week so it would be quiet !

Overall great experience. WiFi was in and out but manageable

We have stayed here three years in a row. It’s spacious, has a great view, and the screened in porch is really nice. We love love love the paddle boards and kayaks for days when we don’t rent a boat. Nice spot on the lake with great windows giving good view of the water at sunrise and sunset.

This property and the adjacent properties with the same owner are the best ones on the lake! We noticed many others had a LOT of stairs to walk up and down to get to the lake and boat dock. We're so glad this one was just steps away with a small incline. Check-in and check-out were easy and smooth. Worth noting: the main listing says one of the beds is a king, but later in the details, it does say they're all queens. I would suggest correcting that. The view from the great room is gorgeous! We LOVED the kayaks and paddleboards and used them often. We had an amazing time making memories and would stay here again, but with one caveat - a few things are in need of repair. Because the owner probably does not stay here often, if at all, I hope this list will be taken in the spirit of helpfulness in which it's intended: 1) Major safety hazard: the railing around the deck in the back is broken in at least 3 places. In one spot, it's completely separated and someone could easily lean against it and fall to the ground 2) There is a large burn area on the same railing where someone put the grill too close. I took a pic and tried to send it as soon as we checked in so we weren't held responsible for it, but I couldn't send a picture through Vrbo messaging. 3) A previous guest mentioned no sheets for the pullouts, and that is still the case. We found a mattress protector and some pillowcases, but that was it. 4) Investing in a garbage disposal in the kitchen sink would save on future plumbing bills 5) Several areas on the floor in different rooms feel a bit warped or like the subfloor is not stable. 6) The deck is warped (must be underneath because it's a composite deck and I didn't think those warped) and the area right outside of the sliding glass door developed its own mini Lake of Egypt when we got heavy rain one day. I have to assume that water is going into that bedroom and soaking the subfloor (we didn't see any water on the actual floor) 7) The whole place could really use a deep clean, including a good scrub on all the pots and pans. We appreciated the kitchen items, but they were greasy and had to be cleaned before we could use anything. The nonstick surface is flaking off the pans. 8) Not a big deal, but the WIFI needs a booster or something. For a place this big, it could not handle more than 2-3 phones before the signal was severely degraded. Again, in all, we had an AMAZING time! The great room is perfect for gathering and playing games

Check in information prior to the check in time would have been nice. I shouldn’t have had to reach out twice to get check in instructions, 20 minutes past check in time. Once we got in, we were unpacking and some random guy showed up. Never said hi, never introduced himself, just said he needed this form filled out for staying. It was super weird. Something the property manager should definitely address, or make your required forms electronic. The broken pieces of flooring are not safe and should be addressed IMMEDIATELY!! We tripped multiple times going from the kitchen to the main living room on the flooring transition piece. There is no welcome manual, there is no internet, points made in the listing. Directions on operating the base board heat, where to find all towels, basic information should be included in the welcome manual that doesn’t exist. The beds are all queens, there is no king bed. Most of the concerns addressed by other reviews are still issues. Mouse traps, filthy kitchen window, dirty rugs, etc. The place is spacious (the main living room) with great views, but some things could definitely be addressed.

The property is stunning and the living room is gorgeous. The host will work with yoh to ensure your experience is smooth. We all loved the property, and bonded watcjing the beautiful sunsets from the large porch. Overall, bedrooms are a little small and there is only 1 shower, but we did not spend much time in them anyways. We loved this property and will definitely stay here again.
