The location.

We were travelling by bike and we were not allowed to take them to the apartment.. fortunately the patisserie owner below the apartment allowed us to leave the bikes in his shop.

We had to leave to early for breakfast, unfortunately. However, the room was to our liking. Ideally located to the town centre. Accessible to plenty of things to see and do.

Exact directions to the hotel and parking information would have been ideal. We had a frustrating time finding it. Other than that, it was a pleasurable visit.

Nice apartment in the heart of town. The patisserie downstairs was great!

The location of the property is more than perfect, right next to the cathedral. The hosts were very nice and responded quickly. Unfortunately we could not try the breakfast, as the bakery was closed on Mondays. Very good value for money.

The only two things that could be improved were the light in the bathroom, it was rather gloomy inside, and the protective cover of the mattress which was a bit noisy. Other than that, everything was great :)

Nothing! IT IS NOT A HOTEL !!! This place is a scam. I feel embarrassed for them calling themself "Hotel". It is a typical air B&B, but the most weird one with bad quality of everything. Not sure how this place got all the nice reviews, I am shocked. We arrived late in the night, took some time to find this place. The door is a cafe/bakery (closed), if it did not have a small sticker next to the door, I would not believe there was a "Hotel". We tentatively entered the cafe with the password sent by the owner, had to go all the way through the cafe to its back door, though its storage, then go up stairs. There were storages every where. Huge refrigerators (with locks on it) in the hallway on every floor. The most weird thing is they even have a cabinet inside of the elevator. No reception, nobody checking you in, check your passport etc. like in a normal hotel. No daily clean like a normal hotel. Did not see any staff during the stay. I cannot stop wondering that even criminals can book this place, to stay for criminal activities or hiding without being checked by anyone. This place can go on the list of best choices for criminals on the run, definitely!

1. It is not a hotel, It claims has "24 hours reception", which was a total lie, automatic checkin, without seeing a single person the whole time. 2. The place stinks !!! very weird strong smell everywhere, I almost throw up. Imagine you arrive a very weird house late in the night, passing though an empty cafe, seeing big refrigerators with locks in the hall way, and a strong smell everywhere... cameras everywhere, wires hanging on the wall. It felt we entered into a hunted house... or some kind of murder scene. We were so scared all night, thinking there might be dead bodies in the big refrigerators. 3. The place does not look like its pictures. Living room is very dark in the night only has two lamps, not even light in the celling, very small bedroom and bathroom without window, kinda dirty feeling everywhere, sofa looks dirty... I suppose also a combination of the strong smell makes it worse. 4. The most outrage thing was, when we left the place, we received an email from the owner claiming 150 euros from us because we used both of the rooms, and we did not clean the apartment "there were hair on the bathroom floor", what ??????? (the place is only 120euro per night) We booked a "one bedroom apartment with one big double bed and one sofa bed, for 2 adults 2 kids", the apartment gave to us was actually two small bedrooms, and no sofa bed was made in the living room . I supposed they just gave us a different room. But the owner claim we should have only use one bedroom, so we have to pay extra ,,, unbelievable, I did not ask you to give a different apartment, if you do not want us to use one of the rooms, then lock that door, and make a sofa bed for us in the living room, not to claim for extra money after we stayed. And I have never stayed in a "HOTEL" that request me to clean after stay... None of these was explained in their Booking profile description.

Super comfortable apartment. Spacious. Lovely floors. Comfortable bed. Clean. Well-equipped kitchen. Very light. Airconditioning for the summer months. City views of Bayonne with lovely tree & cathedral. Quiet, yet couldn't be more central if you tried. Lovely patisserie downstairs. Staff accommodating.

Disappointed the Wifi (and therefore Netflix on the telly) wasn't working for half of our stay - probably due to building works on the square outside.

The beds had something like film cover (like in hospitals) under the sheets, which made sleeping on a matress uncomfortable.

Yes they sent a very good video showing exactly where the location of the door was which was incredibly helpful ! I loved my stay, the location, and the response time from the host was wonderful. I would 100% recommend this location for anyone staying in Bayonne.

My only issue was the beds were very hard.. but then again.. I am American and majority of beds in France have been hard for me (except some nicer hotels I have stayed at). For international people visiting, it may be a good investment to get better mattresses or a matress pad! The couch was excellent I want to buy one just like it with the same moveable sturdy pillows/back supports ! :)

We liked every aspect of the apartment. It was clean and bright and cheery.

Everything was very good. Great beds, clean place, great location. It was lovely smelling the pastries been baked on the lower floor at the entrance.

I didn’t read properly when booking, that the host expects us to clean the apartment when checking out. I checked in at 23:00 after a 10 hour drive, and checked out the next day 8:30, going to another 10 hour drive, cleaning was the last thing I want to do. I think for this price (which is roughly 30-50% higher than other apartments) should have included cleaning fee so the guest doesn’t have to clean.

Great position opposite the cathedral and nice appartement.

The stay was spoilt a bit by the works going on next door but this is not the fault of the facility.

It's in the heart of the city and the location is fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable. I was pleased with the furnishings.

The dining chairs are high and small, like the ones in the bar, which can be dangerous for kids. We heard some noise and voice of young guys in the night, it's a bit noisy.
