Very peaceful, nice spot, but the Beds were a little uncomfortable but overall was a pleasant stay.

It’s like 2 separate apartments upstairs & down. Perfect for 2 couples or a family. Each couple has their own privacy & for families, the kids get their own space. BEAUTIFUL view as you’re right on the lake.

We loved the view and spent alot of time on the back covered porch. The separate apartment downstairs for very nice for privacy and family members enjoyed it. Unfortunately the bed was in need of replacement. it was very bad. It's an older home, but clean and well supplied with towels, dishes, etc. Nice neighborhood and area of the mountains.

We enjoyed our stay on Lake Santeetlah.. The cottage was dated but well kept and had a lot of history about it. We talked with several snow birds who live there half the year and learned about the community enough to realize ours was very original in parts of the house (the windows are the key!) The kitchen was very nice and we agreed it would be excellent for a family week stay. Since we were only there for the weekend we only used it in a limited fashion. All the appliances worked perfectly and there was plenty of cooking utensils and cookware to make complete meals. The living area was well used for card games at night - we did not use the TV at all since there was no cable (warned ahead of time about that - no way to get satellite due to tree cover either). They do have a FireStick and internet was excellent so we used our computer to watch some ball games. They have NetFlix available as well. Great instructions on how to use everything in the house! One issue was the downstairs bedroom - there was a double bed instead of the queen listed. Also the dehumidifier that ran continuously in the bedroom was a bit noisy, but we got used to it. Both beds were a bit noisy to sleep on and could use updating. The bathrooms were good and the hot water was plentiful. Outside was my highlight! I loved the view across the water to the dam. The birds and chipmunks kept busy around the back porch and we had to reload the birdfeeder while we were there...counted at least seven different bird varieties eating within 6 feet of us on the upper porch. I spent time on the dock at twilight enjoying the solitude (we were the only people in the cove!) but it probably is busy and noisy during the summer - the houses are pretty close to each other in the cove. Overall we enjoyed our stay and after talking with several locals may look for property in the community for snowbirding ourselves in the next five or so years! The property is exactly as advertised. Beautiful views and great neighborhood. I enjoyed my stay, however I have two cons. 1. I arrived at check in time with no instructions on entering the property. I messaged the manager 2 hours before with no response. Even with a potential lag in the app, I should have been provided this information well before check in. One hour after check in time I contacted vrbo, they tried calling the manager with no response. 2-3 hours later I finally got a text with the door code and instructions. I was not happy to sit around for 3 hours not knowing anything and was already looking for a different place to stay. 2. The smell of perfume/cologne/air freshener was EXTREMELY strong. I am not a picky person, as I have plug ins and use febreze at home. I spent about an hour searching for the source of this eye burning smell. After two days with the doors open it became bearable.

No problems

I had a few travel issues just getting to the cabin. None of which involved the cabin or directions. My boat decided to fail the first morning, my phone fell into the lake. All that and I had a nice vacation because of the cabin. The view down the lake, they have high speed internet. There are tons of hiking trails in the area, Just walking in the community was beautiful and peaceful. Looking forward to going back next year.

We enjoyed our lakeside retreat for the weekend. If you are looking for a simple, relaxing place to enjoy the lake view and a canoe ride this is a nice choice. It rained one evening and my husband and I loved sitting on the upper deck with a glass of wine and listening to the rain hit the water.

This is a cozy cottage on Lake Santeetlah. Very peaceful and close to some fantastic hiking trails.

The cabin was wonderful, homey and has a beautiful view of Santeetlah Lake ! It had all the amenities we needed and gave us the perfect deck to sit and sip wine and look at the lake , a little to cool and windy for boating and fishing ! Can’t wait to do it again in warmer weather!!!

Outstanding view and an amazing time

Best place we have ever stayed. House had everything you could ask for. Views of the lake from the porch were fantastic. Owner was very responsive and kept in touch throughout our stay and gave us pointers. I had wished I would have read the one about it being a dry county so if you like to enjoy a refreshing adult beverage make sure you come prepared. Can't wait to go back again. 5 stars all the way

If you need a relaxing reset this is the place. I will be returning again. I enjoyed the rain underneath the canopy of trees and my furbie friends were safe and warm. The weather was both rain and sun I enjoyed both :) And did I mention how big the fish are!

The setting on Lake Santeetlah is wonderful. The walk from the house to the lake is short and not steep. We brought our own kayaks and kept them on the private dock during our stay - just a few steps from the house and you are on the water. The owner offered her canoe and standup paddleboard for our use as well. The house was comfortably furnished, clean, and very well equipped. AC worked great but was not needed during our late September stay. When we were not paddling or hiking, we spent quality time watching the lake from the porch, enjoying the serenity. The only issue during our short stay was that the internet service was not working, so streaming entertainment options were not available. The owner responded immediately and contacted the internet service provider, but service was still out when we left. Owner was extremely gracious in working with us for a future stay, and we do hope to return!

Would definitely come back again. Courtney was a wonderful host and helped us with everything we needed. The home was completely stocked with all the amenities and all the supplies we needed. The lake was just a few steps down into the water and the neighbors were great. Such a good location to get hiking done.

Beautiful simple place

My boyfriend, dog, and I had a wonderful stay at Courtney’s lake house. It was so quaint and convenient to fantastic hiking! We hope to come back in warmer months to enjoy the lake. Great place!!

Amazing location! The view out the family room window was spectacular. A very easy place to relax! We rented a fishing kayak for my stepson. He fished for hours, even in the rain. I stayed inside enjoying the view, drinking coffee, and putting together a puzzle. We can’t wait to go back!

Lovely cottage on the most beautiful lake in the Southeast

The view of the lake and upper deck were the highlights for us. The location is remote in the sense that you can't get to stores/gas stations/restaurants within walking distance but the lake house itself is surrounded by other homes/rentals.....most of which were either vacant or quiet for our stay. I would recommend bringing some paper goods with you as the toilet paper and paper towel supply were very limited.....eonough for a day or two and no extras located in the home. Also would not say that the place was spic and span.... and could probably use a little updating . There were ample towels and kitchenware....I felt the pots/pans were in exceptional shape, even considering upgrading my own after using them. The refrigerator was turned down when we arrived and it took until the next day to get to a temperature cool enough to house our food safely. They did have some ice ready in the ice machine which was nice though. Overall.....I would say this rental has great possibilities just needs a little more attention and updating.

We so enjoyed our stay at the lake with all our adult children. This home is cozy and comfortable, with a magnificent lake view. We spent many nights relaxing on the deck, as well as early mornings drinking coffee from the well-equipped kitchen. We cooked some mighty fine dinners there. House was very clean and stocked with plenty of towels and linens. Being able to have our pup with us was such a plus! We rented a pontoon boat and used the private dock which was an easy walk down from the house. Communication with owner was over the top great, as we just had a few questions and Mother Nature tried to put the lights out. Not a problem at all and Courtney was very concerned that we all had a perfect vacation, which we certainly did! Thank you for sharing your historical home with us.

This place was great. If anything, the pictures don't do it justice with respect to size. It was roomier than we expected and our family had plenty of space to relax. The house was very clean and we found everything we needed to have a perfectly relaxing time at the lake. Communication with the owner was always timely, informative and helpful.

Stunning views, water and land activities everywhere you turn, and a gracious host who is always available and helpful should you need anything at all (which you probably won’t since this property has it all). We loved every minute of our stay and couldn’t be more appreciative of Courtney and the Lee family for sharing their amazing lake home.

We fell in love with the cabin, it’s history, the porch and the ease of it all. We rented kayaks from the nearby dock to paddle in the clean water of Santeetlah. We hiked around Joyce Kilmer. We bought local produce from a market that’s just a few miles away and strung beans on the porch for dinner with the most beautiful view and cool breezes. We played Yahtzee on the dock as the sun went down. We slept like babies, read, had long coffees in the mornings and talked. This isn’t a fancy place but a homey one tucked in a cove perfect for swimming and floating on a hot summer day with easy, shallow access to the water. There’s just tons of heart in this place. The owner is just lovely and was always ready to answer any questions. She told me her Grandfather built the place and that endeared to us it even more. It’s an original to this wonderful lake. Don’t let it pass you by, there’s great memories to be made here... Robbinsville is just a few miles away with an Ingles for anything you forget! This is the kind of place to take a break from everything to see how simplicity can recalibrate..,
