Great location in Black Mountain, walkable to Lake Tomahawk. House is updated and has everything you need. Owner is easy to reach and responsive.

Jimmy and Beth were great hosts! Super cute house! Just a couple of minutes to the town of Black Mountain, lots of places to eat, and cute little shops! We would definitely stay here again!

This was the best VRBO we have stayed in! The owners thought of everything. Even though there is only one bathroom, they have thoughtfully placed mirrors with nearby outlets so 3 women can get ready for the day simultaneously. The washer and dryer was super helpful and the kitchen had everything we needed. The home is super clean and new. All the owner recommendations were spot on. We ate at the Trailhead, My Father’s Pizza, and the biscuit place in town. All delicious! We did recommended hikes in Montreat and also went to Chimney Rock State Park, visited Lake Lure and Hendersonville and did the triple falls hike near Brevard. Sunday we went to church at a chapel in Montreat where Billy Graham and his wife were married. This VRBO is in the perfect spot for exploring the area. We walked around downtown Black Mountain and Lake Tomahawk every day. It was a fantastic vacation for our family. (Me, my husband and 2 college aged daughters.) If you guys ever want to sell… :)

The property is as described and then much more. Extremely clean, very nice bedding, linens, cookware and appliances. Everything that you need to feel that you are at home away from home. The owner has put a lot of time and attention into this property and everything is well marked and organized. This property receives 10 stars in my travel book!

We went to the Biltmore, Mount Mitchell, an Asheville ghost tour, hiked to lookout mountain, and hiked to Catawba Falls. The falls hike was easy. Lookout mountain was medium to difficult, harder than I had expected. If you are wanting to see the nice overlook, don't give up but go all the way to the top. If you're coming from the backside which is less strenuous) don't go past the second peak. The view from The Overlook was spectacular. Again, kudos for the cottage and the host!!

Rarely is a place better than the pictures— but this little cottage provided a cozy, restful weekend. The house, while small, provided everything we needed for a great mountain getaway. We loved the games the owners left and the little extras. The location is also great! We would stay again

Lovely property in Black Mountain. Very clean and well appointed. Walking distance (all sidewalks) to historic downtown shopping and dining. Quiet neighborhood with a short walk to a lake with a nice running/walking path and gorgeous views. Very close to Asheville (15-20 minutes tops). The owner is very communicative and provides everything you need. Don't hesitate to make this property part of your 'escape to the mountains' plans.

We really enjoyed our stay in Black Mountain at James' cottage! The size of the cottage was perfection. It was cozy, clean and definitely new construction as we had guessed from the photos. Everything worked great, looked great and the amenities were great. The location is perfect and far enough off of the more main roads that it was very quiet. You could even hear the creek from the master bedroom, so relaxing! Downtown was close and convenient, Asheville is a quick 20 minute trip, and there are tons of great hiking trails within a few minutes. We will definitely be keeping this spot in mind for our return trips to Black Mountain!
