Clean hostal with nice ambiance
Very cold, no heating
Meals are basic
3.9
Martita’s is a very cute hotel with a lot of charm. It was clean and cozy and is in a great location - only a few minutes walk away from the bus stop, restaurants, artesanal shops and hiking trails. The breakfast (included in the price) was great: eggs, bread, fruit, yogurt and coffee/tea/water. The dinner was also tasty, filling and reasonably priced. Our room had a space heater, but it can still be quite chilly inside so bring warm clothes!
There was one night of our stay when the water cut off. We messaged the owners via WhatsApp but didn’t receive a response. It’s possible this was a village wide outage and out of the owners’ control, but it would have been nice to receive a response.

Comfy bed
We arrived and only an 8 year old boy was there. He checked us in but had no idea we were coming or what to do. When it came to dinner time, there was still no one there. Our group and the 8 year old were the only people in the hostel. The boy ran across town to get the owner who didn't even know we were there. She didn't have much food for dinner, so we only got a small soup. After she cooked she left the building again for the rest of the night. There was also no firewood so it was very cold. We didnt get any apologies. The service was terrible, the 8 year old was more helpful than the owner.

the room was big enough.
one of our worst stay during our quilotoa loop. the food was so bad and they didnt serve the food on time. we were so tired and hungry after quilioto loop and we had to wait for the food. they didnt give you free coffee or tea (only one for a day and the coffee is sooo bad). chech out time is one hour before than it is advertised on booking.com. they put our stuff in not very sfae place after check out. it is very expensive for the quality they offer. I wouldnt recommend staying there.
3.9
The location is perfect for visiting the Quilotoa Laguna.
The room was clean and the bad was comfy.
The shower had hot water and we also had a fire oven and a electrical heater in the room which saved our live.
Breakfast and Dinner have been included, both were very good and more than enough.
3.9
The location was just inside the Quilotoa gate and an easy walk to the crater edge. Dinner and breakfast were included which was great. There was a small stove in our room which we lit for heat. We enjoyed this feature.
The owner also runs a store somewhere in town and it took a while (over an hour) for her to show up to check us in.
3.9
Clean and comfortable rooms.
It is cold in every building in quilotoa, but they provide an electric heater in the room and warm blankets. Also hot shower
Dinner was fine but could be better. Nice breakfast with much fruit and a tosti.

The hospitality and welcoming smiles were worth every penny. And knowing that we were supporting this tiny community with somehow a flopping tourist industry, made me feel good.
Since the pandemic, tourism has changed there and nobody stays there. It was like a ghost town. I really recommend people doing the quilatoa loop backwards and starting in quilota, supporting the community and hiking downhill...
Then you get the views of the crater in the morning and it's all downhill it's much better.
This family didn't really know that we were coming despite our booking. It really is like a ghost town, unfortunately.... this lovely family deserves to have a busy business

- Lovely room, clean property
- Great location at the end of the hike
- Nice fire in the evening
- Food wasn’t the best but it was OK
3.9
House was exceptionally clean in bedrooms and common areas.
Food was great.
Room nice and big and bright with big windows.
Beds very comfy and warm.
Meals were not on time. We were told 6:30 for dinner but it came at 7:30, and had to wait a while for breakfast as well.
3.9
The room was big and bed very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner both very delicious. There was a heater in our room.
The community room was quite cold. It was a bit weird that the bathroom windows were see through and right next to the balcony...
3.9
The rooms are nice and it is close to the bus station
Drinkable water was not always available
3.9
the hotel itself is ok, good food and not far from the quilotoa "center".
service wasn't very good. Only one towel for two. the second night we were alone, there were no fire to heat the place and at 7 pm while we were eating Martita said something about being tired asked if we needed something else and just left us alone in the hotel with no more service. the next morning breakfast was late (served at 8 am instead of 7h30 am). Overall, not a bad hotel, but a deceiving service.
3.9
Everything great, price includes two meals: dinner and breakfast, there is a good hot water shower. Room was cold, but because of high altitude it's cold in whole village and one electric heater can't create a comfort like in the city flat. Anyway there were many bed blankets so we didn't got cold while sleeping.
3.9
the hostel is very cosy and extremely tidy, room are spacious with hot water and a stove, food is delicious and the family that runs the place is very friendly and accomodating. Overall a great find in Quilotoa.
3.9
Great Hostel! Nice room. We had warm blankets, a heater, a hot shower and in the livingroom there is a cozy wood oven. The family that runs the hostel is very friendly and helpfull and the breakfast and dinner was great, even vegetarian. Thank you for the lovely stay!
3.9
Nice owners, We asked for vegetarian dinner and breakfast, which was no problem and very good. We got a fan heater because the stove in the room couldn't be used because of the strong wind.
3.9
Nice place to relax.
3.9
The family who ran the hostel were extremely accommodating and friendly people. Also, the food was lovely. The location for finishing the Quilotoa loop was great.
3.9
Breakfast was nice, rooms were comfortable and warm. Nice hot shower.
Staff very unfriendly and quite rude. The small child of the owners was left alone for over an hour with the guests in the evening. We were told to go to bed at 9.30pm and all of the hostel lights were turned off. We were told we couldn’t leave the hostel or stay in the common area as it would wake up the owner.
Other hostels in the area included juice and desert with dinner, but there was none included here.
3.9
The hosts were really welcoming, the breakfast was excellent and the hostel is in a good location with a cosy fire to keep you warm at night. There was water and tea and coffee making facilities available with a good selection of tea bags.
The beds were quite firm.
3.9
It was quiet and the room was comfortable enough. We were able to refill our water bottles.
Although it was cold we didn’t have any issues sleeping as the blankets provided were sufficient.
Lack of soap in the rooms and the communal toilet was unhygienic. We asked for soap, but clearly none at the property at all, which is unpleasant.
Room could have been cleaned - a few stray hairs and stains on the beds / sheets.
It felt like they were being a bit mean with provisions - only one towel and one tiny sachet of shampoo given for two people.
When we arrived there was only a young child at reception. It took a while before anyone appeared.
Food was fine, just basic.
3.9
Very clean, great location!
It was incredibly cold. There was a wood burner in our room but we were unable to use it, even though they provided us with wood. On the first night, the owner said something about how there was too much wind and it was dangerous. Since we couldn’t use it, we froze. There was a tiny space heater provided but it did absolutely nothing. Be prepared to be very cold!!
3.9
Very friendly owners, lovely house, very good dinner and breakfast, overall a great find
3.9
Both breakfast and dinner were super good, very helpful and caring host! Very clean space and the room had heater (which is needed there)
3.9
Nice guys, cozy rooms and good food. The location is perfect 👍
We booked a "extra large double bed" but it was a very small double bed...
3.9
Very beautiful hostal, within walking distance to the town and quilotoa. Dinner and breakfast is included with the price.
The hostal does get cold but each room has a heater which helps greatly!
3.9
Breakfast and dinner included in the price lots of blankets stove in the dining area. large room.
This place was very cold we got a little electric heater but it didn’t heat the room. shower ran cold if someone else was using the water. Food was not brilliant
3.9
Location was good but it was cold.
The staff let us keep our bags so that we can hike easily.
We had a price with booking for 40$ with breakfast and dinner and when we got there they told us it is not possible and had to pay 15$ more.
As well, the room had a small heater that we found not enough. We asked for an extra blanket and even if there was no other guests they told us it is not possible to have one.
3.9
Very friendly host; good location; nice meal (and cheap!); comfortable room.
No remarks. If light bothers you in the morning, consider bringing a sleep mask.
3.9
Friendly staff and a super cute hostel, which is actually more like a hotel.
Everything looked nice and new. The shower was hot, the bed was comfy, and dinner and breakfast were tasty. There was even an electical heater and a fireplace in our room!
3.9
I like this place, cozy ,clean , delicious food and nice host family
