Adorable cottage for a small group or couple. It’s in a nice location with access to a walking trail into town, and to a deep water dock on the river down some somewhat rickety stairs. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything one would need. Jon was easy to reach and quick to respond during our stay. He was a super nice guy, as well. We would stay here again, if we had the chance.

We went kayaking and biking in Acadia National Park, but we enjoyed staying away from the tourist crowds on this property. It was a super cute house, on a gorgeous setting on a hill. And the town of Belfast has many options to eat and shop. Definitely coming back!!

The location was new for us. But oh so beautiful and interactive. The host was the best I have encountered in decades of travel. The accommodations were clean and very comfortable. I am ready to book for next spring.

We had a great stay at the Belfast cottage. It was clean & well equipped with everything we needed. The owner Jon was a pleasure. Enjoyed the back patio at night. We walked to town on the rail trail behind the house. Belfast is a great town .

This property was perfect for us. We like to head up to Maine from NYS a couple of times a year for a short break. The cottage is very comfortable and well appointed. The decor is charming and there was everything we needed to cook for ourselves which is rare. We loved it! Thank you Jonathan.

The cottage sits on the hill overlooking the water. Peaceful and relaxing. Everything you could possibly desire for a quiet getaway.

I was looking for suitable accommodations for two adults and found it. This place has a great walking path right in the back, which takes you directly into town if you are a walker this is a perfect place for you. Subfloor heating was unbelievable and keeping us nice and warm during chilly nights.

This cottage was a main stay for us in our daily sighseeing of various towns...bar harbor bangor Arcadia national park etc.Cottage was everything as described and jon very helpful. If we travel again to maine will definitely stay here

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property and would definitely stay here again. Even though it rained the majority of the time, the cottage was cozy and well appointed so it didn’t really affect our stay. Now THAT is a good rental! Jon was an excellent host and very communicative too.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jonathan’s cottage. We were lucky to have great weather for four days and spent time outside from morning coffee on the eastern patio to evening sunset, dinner and fire pit on the west side of the house. The home is nicely decorated with local art, pottery, etc and has everything one can need. The walk into town is easy along a well manicured rail trail, leading right from the dooryard. Jonathan is welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. We recommend this stay without reservation.

We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy of this quaint cottage just outside of Belfast, ME. It was so nice to return to after a hectic day in Acadia National Park!

We have been vacationing in Belfast, Maine for years and Jon's cottage was definitely a "must-go-back-to"! The photos and description gave an accurate representation of this most comfortable and convenient cottage. The kitchen appliances were awesome and the privacy of the yard made vacationing with our pooch a breeze! Having the Belfast Rail Trail at our doorstep made morning walks a must along with its proximity to downtown! Also, some great photo opps...Thanks much....we WILL be back!

We had a wonderful stay in Belfast. The town is quaint and delightful. The cottage is adorable and we had so much fun hanging out on the private dock. Such a perfect getaway!

This cottage, Forepeak, is just about perfect – love the location – Belfast is an amazing small town - if you like, the town is a short walk from the cottage on a lovely trail. The cottage is also an easy drive of much of the mid-coast (we went to Acadia, Bar Harbor, Camden, Rockland, Boothbay Harbor, and Freeport). The cottage itself is so lovely – love that there is a king-size bed, a well-equipped kitchen, and laundry. The upstairs loft has a double bed and powder room. The back deck is wonderful and has a grill and chiminea. The dock is a short walk down the lawn – it’s such a peaceful place to just relax. Jon is a wonderful host! Can’t wait to go back.

Our stay was wonderful from the time we pulled in the drive. The view of the water from the dock was absolutely beautiful. The town was very charming and we were able to drive to the adjacent cities/towns. It’s a must stay!

We loved staying here and will certainly be back! It's the perfect location with direct access to the trail, which we took to town several times. We took the kayaks out on the water and enjoyed sitting on our porch. The host, Jon, was very helpful and generous in suggesting activities and places to eat. I loved watching the blue jays, bumblebees, and even a gopher in the yard with the water view in the distance. The cottage had everything we needed. If we had stayed longer the well-appointed kitchen would have been put to use. We were here during an unusually hot week so it was warm in the house despite opening windows and using a fan. Fantastic place to stay we would recommend it without reservation!

We were very pleased with our stay at Forepeak. The cabin is cozy and well equipped. Our host, Jon, was friendly and great to work with. When Maine calls us again for a sister trip, we'll call Jon to book Forepeak!

We had an amazing time at the cottage. The property was beautiful and the short walk into town was nice. Jon was a great host and gave us the information on the property when we arrived. Overall our week there was amazing and we cant wait to go back!

Enjoyed everything about the stay. Cottage was well stocked with all essentials. The decor was adorable and the outdoor space lovely! I would. Not recommend for young kids as the loft stairs are rather steep.

Lovely clean, comfortable cottage with everything you need. Jon came down to greet us and was very welcoming. The cottage is clean and comfortable for the both of us and our 2 small dogs. We enjoyed Belfast and the surrounding area. The bike path is a stones throw away and was a lovely easy ride into town and a nice path to walk your dogs. Thank you for a nice stay.

Jon’s VRBO is excellent. Everything was as stated. It is quiet and out of the hustle and bustle of Belfast. We would definitely stay there again.

This a small but beautifully laid out cabin with everything that we needed to enjoy the area. The owners were very available. The location is just down the street from central Belfast, with a wonderful view of the upper portion of Belfast Bay.
