Big room, very clean, Nice location.

The breakfast was excellent, with a variety of bread, great cheeses, juice, coffee, cold cuts, etc. We liked the location between the beaches of Lido and a short walk to the waterbus station. We want to extend our special thank you to Claudia, the housekeeper - she is a real sweetheart!

No working WiFi in the room. Having one more armchair in the room for two and a table would be nice. We would have appreciated a clear description that the double room has no bathroom inside and one must use a very nice bathroom in the hall.

Located along one of Lido's tranquil canals, Villa Contarini is only 15 minutes by ferry from Piazza San Marco. The villa has been beautifully restored by the lovely Sven who is an art historian with an enthusiasm for Italy that's intoxicating. Sven is the best host, puts on a delicious breakfast, knows everyone in Lido (and beyond) and has excellent recommendations for aperitivo, restaurants and areas to explore beyond the tourist trail. The villa has bikes for hire and, if you're interested, Sven will skipper a highly entertaining tour of Venice by boat that is an incredible experience. We stayed after a week of work in Milan and the beautiful Lido was so relaxing and fun it was very hard to leave. We can't wait to return. Biggest thanks to Sven for our incredible time in Venice!

Amazing room with balcony, very peaceful and luxurious with a modern feel.

Despite not meeting the host on the day which was not a problem the cleaning staff were absolutely accommodating.

The accomodation is really sophisticated and tasteful to the smallest detail, from the furnishing of the rooms to the glasses in the dining hall, the breakfeast is rich and high-quality, the host is exceptionally kind.

Absolutely everything! What a gem. I travel a lot, both privately and professionally, and this is definitely one of the better places I every stayed in. Value for money is excellent. Very nice fully renovate building, offering all comfort you look for when making a trip. Specious bright rooms, very comfortable beds, very nice warm shower, possibility to change the temperature of your room, and nice breakfast. The host is amazing, makes you feel very welcome and takes his time to accommodate you. Very knowledgeable about Venice and its history. Gave me very nice tips and tricks. Also nice to speak German, Sven seems to speak quite a few languages. Thanks for the great experience. Highly recommendable.

Excellent location in walking distance from boat stop, centre of Lido with bars/shops/restaurants and beach. Very clean and fully refurbished b&b. Bed was very comfortable and great shower. Host was very welcoming and served a very nice breakfast. Also the garden is a plus. Excellent value for money and would most definitely stay again.

Our stay at Villa Contarini B&B has been wonderful. The place is in a great location to visit the Lido and the Venice Islands, outside the confusion and the hustle of the main part of Venice. The atmosphere at this B&B is relaxed and you feel really like home. The best thing has been the friendliness of the host Sven (and its sweet cat!). We had interesting conversations in the morning at breakfast, and he gave us many information and notions about the Lido and the surrounding area. I definitely recommend this stay!

Great location, 10 minute walk from boat station/centre. Lido is a great, quiet and friendly area to be in. Villa was just as pictured and Sven the host was very welcoming and accommodating. Would stay again!

Sven the landlord was great, talkative and friendly. Lots of friendly political discussions, which I enjoyed. Lido island is the place to stay in Venice.

only one thing - the communication with the host can be improved, that he won’t lost his temper during check out. Mr. Sven first got bit unhappy when I asked to check out 11:40am, in the morning, but he said “normally” the check out time is 11am, but it’s ok. (He should have just say “No” to avoid the confusion), that would avoid him losing his temper and got totally mad and yelling in front of other guests at 11:25am when he kicks me out). He knocked my door at 11am ask I had to check out now, I said yes I will take 15 minute to leave the room, so you can clean, he asked I left my breakfast in the kitchen do I still need it? I said yes, I will leave the room in 15 min and have the breakfast maybe for 10 min in the kitchen, he said ok. When I leave the bag in the front door and begin to finish the breakfast in the kitchen, he started to speak very loud and kick my out at 11:25am saying 1) check out time is “normally” at 11am, and that mean leave the property not the room, and 2) breakfast at 8-10am, that means you are not allowed to eat breakfast you prepared yourself beforehand after 10am in the kitchen. I left the breakfast on the table and grabbed my bag in the and leave immediately, he doesn’t let me speak a word because he speak very loud and fast and yelling all the way to the front door. He should have said No in the very beginning, what does “normally” mean? please get rid of the “normally” and don’t need to try to be polite by saying “ok” and “normally”, please say “No, you cannot, otherwise there is will be late checkout fee”. other than that, this b&b could have received a 9/10 rating.

Very nice house in the Lido! the room was big and the garden was lovely Swen and his friends were accommodating and helfpul! (we arrived very late and left super early)

the facility was modern and we could have enjoyed the common living room and garden. There are only few groups of guests and you can enjoy very relaxing stay. I also booked Svenicetour(the private tour by the owner of the hotel). You can ask him whatever tour you would like to have. After having sightseeing in Venice main island, Lido is a definitely a lovely place to have peaceful days. I would love to stay one more week here😌

It was not written that how much the bike rent is, for example. but not really complaint I have.

Location was fabulous - quiet canalside street but close to everything. Sven and Isabel were so welcoming and attentive, as was Balthazar the cat. We arrived early and they invited us to sit in the garden, with refreshments, until our room was ready. Breakfast was good and we were able to eat it in the lovely garden. Sven gave us some excellent tips on places to go which enhanced our holiday, and was keen that we had the best experience - even taking us on a short complimentary boat trip in the lagoon. He has two bikes to hire and these were an added bonus. The room was comfy and quiet so we had good quality sleep during our stay.

A kettle/coffee maker in the room would be good.

Good location of the housing close to the canal. You can rent a boat tour (price is between 200 to 500 Euros).
