The property is amazing. It is beautifully decorated. Much better than the photos can show. The lounge is situated over the stone archway and has leaded lights. The apartment has all the amenities you need and the kitchen is well equipped. The 2 bedrooms are large and have their own TV in each room. The beds are comfy and there are ample electric radiators throughout the property which we had to turn off as it was warm. Canon Gate apartment was very impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is in the Cathedral Grounds (the Cathedral s magnificent) right on the high street and within a 5 minute walk to the train station with regular trains to London, Brighton, Littlehampton, Portsmouth & Southampton. There are many individual shops (still open) on the high street and plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars to walk to. A Tesco Express is nearby to pick up anything you may need. All in all we had a 5 star stay and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

On arrival the layout of the property could have been explained a little better. As you drive under the archway the property is on the right hand side down a pathway and the Gate is on the right hand side. The gate to the property was VERY stiff. I was unable to open it so had to ring the emergency Canon Gate number and was told to push the gate very hard. I did this and got in, There are parking slots available in the lane outside the property. A map showing the spaces would be good as the blue paint marking the spaces has faded and is not immediately noticeable.

I was so surprised that the sitting room area was actually the archway to the cathedral area. So historic and beautifully appointed and designed to show the old beams and quaintness of such an old building. Everything you could possibly ask for. Main bedroom has lovely view of cathedral. Equipped kitchen, bathroom, second bedroom to the front .

Loved everything about the property. Suggestion for blackout blinds in front bedroom as there is a really bright light that shines in all night.

The partment was extremely spacious and facilities were excellent. It is right in the centre of the city which makes it an ideal location. And to top it all it is steeped in history.

A beautiful, exciting and relaxing property. Very comfortable. Daytime location was great, quiet, with wonderful views of the cathedral.

Night time location on the high street was a little colourful for our young son trying to sleep in the front bedroom.

I kept banging my head on the doorframe of one of the bedrooms, otherwise everything was great.

A beautiful place to stay in a great location, right in the centre and able to just wander out to explore Chichester. The apartment was lovely and homely, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there! We stayed here to attend a wedding at Southend Barns and it was perfect. Just 10 minutes in a taxi which cost around £10, and the host had taxi numbers available to use.

Bedroom radiators didn't work. Directions to property were inadequate as city has a complex one way road system. There was too little information about the history of the property

The location is great because it’s very central. It is nicely decorated, well put together and spotlessly clean. We found everything we needed easily and there was plenty of space. The living room is especially nice and the property itself is full of character. The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of kit.

The heating was hard to work out. It was very cosy in the sitting room but the larger bedroom and the bathroom were quite cold. Our main problem was the noise. Very noisy people gather in the archway under the property and talk and yell late into the night, eg 2am. On the second night there were some people rolling bins down the street. Also, the shower was quite weak. It’s just a small issue but, at this price, we expected a better shower. An even tinier snag: the mirror in the bathroom is far too high up on the wall so a shorter person can’t see!

Beautiful apartment, spotlessly clean, comfortable and cosy, great heating system despite the apartment being centuries old and listed, great message communication with the lettings people, very easy key entry system, very handy with parking included so close by in the cathedral grounds

The one downside would have to be the smaller bedroom at the front looking out on the high Street which appeared very quiet at night as not a super busy time of the year. However a word of caution if you're a light sleeper, my friend was woken up first by a group of revelers walking past at 2am, then at 4am with a lorry running outside with deliveries for a shop and then a dust cart with operatives shouting and banging, we understand this part of the apartment is low down onto the street, but would recommend that earplugs or headphones might be brought if you're staying on a bin night !!!
