Excellent very modern 2 en suite double bedrooms apartment, clean, modern and very well kept, suited our party of 2 couples perfectly

property was in good location . although being close to front door of the building could be quite noisy with people coming in and out at night and in the morning if you were still in bed .

Hot water supply was temperamental at times and the beds were very low and springy which weren’t as comfortable as our usual preferences.

The photos did justice to the apartment. Clean. Pleasant apartment, location fine. When we had a problem, they tried to solve it. Nice welcome box.

For the price charged, we expected toiletries, but instead, received a small body soap for each bathroom. The loo in one of the bedrooms was so tight to the door, the door had to be kept open when loo in use. It would be very tight if 4 people shared. No extractor fans in the bathrooms. Nowhere to hang wet towels (there was a small heated radiator in each bathroom, but no hooks). Again, for the money and cleaning cost, having to put our rubbish out ourselves felt mean.

Great location, close to York city centre and to the National Centre for Early Music Enough equipment for self catering, including oven gloves and enough pots and pans to cook a meal. Large toaster. Nice welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and sweet treats. Clean bathrooms.

Tiny car parking space that we were not informed about beforehand. When we rang the Stays York office to query were told that their website said it was a space for a small car. The car park space was next to a wall and there was an overhanging iron balustrade that prevented the car door from openingThis information was not on the booking.com website, which is what we used to find information and then decide to book. Take it or leave it attitude of staff about this issue was not appreciated. Told we could park outside and pay £13 per night which they would not reimburse despite the fact that the allocated space was not fit for purpose. Some cleanliness issues: dirty grill pans, pyrex dishes and cutlery tray. Had to wash these before using. No cutlery basket in dishwasher. Access code for front door did not always work first time and when we rang to query and check we were using the correct procedure were told that noone else had a problem. Did not appreciate this offhand and unhelpful remark. I have a PhD but could not work out how to change the oven settings. A manufacturer's instruction book would have been helpful. Overall would return to this location but would not book via Stays York due to their poor customer service.

Emergency door exit in entrance foyer has a broken door closer. This meant that every time someone used the stairs, which was frequently, the door banged noisily. Car park bay 67 is no use if you have a wide car like our Audi A5. Extreme difficulty with getting in / out when there’s a car in bay 68. Fire alarm not very audible in apartment when only working in outer corridor. ( went off twice during our stay ).

Great location, security and decor.

Parking space too small but alternative was found. Coudl do with a cultlery holder for dishwasher and a few more mugs.
