Breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and helpful. I very much enjoyed my stay at the Blue Boar. I lived in Heybridge and Tollesbury for over 35 years and spent many happy times at the Blue Boar.

we loved our stay and found the staff very helpful. we were disappointed that the tea and milk were not replenished daily, but we had to go and ask . we liked the church bells and the bathroom was wonderful

This is such a lovely place. The pub retains a great amount of original features and they had a nice selection of ales/beers. So the boyfriend was happy. The rooms were so cosy and beautifully decorated. And you can't fault the location being at the top of the High Street!

We had room 16, which was tiny for a deluxe double. The bed was a small double and pushed against one wall. Bathroom was good but a bit grubby. Breakfast was good but we had to wait 45 minutes for it.

Stunning little set up there… the hotel sits within the cutest little ‘Harry Potter Diagon Alley’ lane with proper outdoor seating and instant access across the road to the beautiful 14th century pub honouring the same name.
The layout is quite quirky and once you reach the upper floors, you can easily get confused after a few glasses of wine! But the decor is stunning and the room I stayed in was perfect: Good shower, clean, comfortable bed, quiet, secure car park.
I would like add that I was a young lady visiting the area alone, and I felt very comfortable at both the hotel and the pub.
I tried to bully the landlord of the pub to have a lock in and he wasn’t having any of it!
