Castellammare Di Stabia is an energetic seaside town located just an hour south of Napoli by train and 20+ minutes north of Sorrento. It's the perfect location to visit both of these popular cities as well as Pompeii, Capri, the Amalfi Coast, and even Salerno since you have quick access to the local commuter ferries, Circumvesuviana train, Campania Express, Trenitalia rail line, & even taxis. Other than the convenient location, the best thing about Castellammare Di Stabia is Hotel Desio! The husband & wife owners along with their staff are the kindest people who take hospitality to the next level. The breakfast spread is delicious, plentiful, and served in a large dining room. The bedrooms are simple yet spacious & comfortable. After a long day exploring, it was so nice to come back to my room to rest with the AC on or window open. I call Castellammare Di Stabia the little city that never sleeps since the streets are so busy outside. However, after a quick acclimation period of 1 day, I truly fell in love with the entire town - the sunset views of the sea with Mt. Vesuvius towering in the background - the plethora of beachfront restaurants - the friendly locals - and most importantly, Hotel Desio!! Thank you to Cristina & Paola for such a wonderful stay!

The location and breakfast was good. The staff initially was helpful until the last day.

The beds were hard and the showers were not hot. They shut the AC off when they cleaned such that when we got back from a long hot day, the room was not refreshing. The worst issue was that we were told at check in that we could check out at noon and keep our bags in the room as we had a late flight. My wife and I left to see where the airport shuttle picked up, our kids stayed behind in their room, and we told the owner we were going to find the shuttle. At. 11 am our son texted us that they were kicking them out of the hotel and that check out was 10:30. He explained what the owner said at check in but they forced them to pack everything up and leave the room. The owner came up and told them it was his mistake but still kicked them out. We hustled back to the hotel only to be rushed out also and just told it was his mistake and it was an important weekend for them. I guess we were not important. Complete lack of customer service.

This is a terrific, family-run hotel in the heart of Castellamare di Stabia. The owners welcomed me upon arrival and were delightfully pleasant and helpful, obviously caring that I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is located immediately across the piazza from the Circumvesuviana as well as one block from the seafront / lungomare / all of the restaurants and so forth that one could possibly want. I would strongly recommend this to anyone seeking to visit nearby Pompeii or other such places as it is off the beaten trail and very hospitable. The hotel is also extremely clean, comfortable and well heated.

Location was perfect ... 2 min walk from the station and about 5 min walk to the waterfront. Also next to the train station is the cablecar to Monte Faito. The room and private bathroom were clean. There was a huge rooftop deck and all floors had lift access.

Typically if you leave windows open there is a lot of noise and I did find that it was abit noisy, because of its location.

Lovely place. Like home. Grate staff, very helpful. Very good point to go everywhere. Best choice on this side of Italy.
