We couldn’t fault il Frangipane one bit. Incredibly beautiful hotel with kind, generous, and attentive staff Podi, Anju and rest of the team. Rooms were great. We wish we could have stayed forever. Highlights: Gorgeous garden surroundings cared for round the clock Clean and lovely pool to escape the heat after day of hiking Breakfast is great - Western with a bit of Sri Lankan. Location is central to the happening strip of shops and restaurants Make sure you eat lunch or dinner at Kenoli restaurant around the corner, a simple humble place with the most delicious home cooking. Get the rice + 4 veg set and chicken kotthu (ask for chicken curry gravy with it)

Wij hebben hier echt een fantastische tijd gehad! Het ontbrak ons aan niks. Het hotel is een oase van rust met prachtige kamers. Naar het ontbijt keken wij elke ochtend weer uit, zo lekker! De locatie is top. En het personeel is echt fantastisch, ontzettend behulpzaam en vriendelijk! Wij zouden zonder twijfel weer terug komen!

Beautiful hotel in a great location - we could walk to Sigiriya Rock and lots of places to eat nearby. The pool area was so perfect for relaxing after climbing all those steps! Super friendly hosts who helped us organise our taxis, laundry and let us store our baby's food in the fridge. The owner loves gardening and you are surrounded by amazing plants! We even got visited by a peacock just before we left.

What a find !! A little piece of paradise hidden away about 5 minutes drive from Sigiriya Rock entrance. You enter through a private gate into a beautiful garden with a small pool, perfect for a dip after a hot day out. The team of staff are excellent, friendly, and helpful, going out of their way to make the stay perfect. A huge breakfast is included which sets you up for the day, and if you have dinner there the chef will ask you what you would like, and accommodate you as well as he can. There are just 6 rooms available, all spacious family sized rooms, with good bathrooms.

Staff were very helpful and polite. The room was fabulous very large, clean and comfortable. Lovely pool and well tended, exotic plants. Location was great. The food was very good, the breakfast sumptuous. Wonderful stay!

I have no complaint about any aspect. The only reason I gave it 10 out of 10 us that there isn't an 11!

It’s a well located and nicely designed property, well maintained and beautifully lush with greenery. The staff were friendly, attentive and kind. The whole place smacked of love. We love the pool and the dining area. It was indeed an oasis from the rest of Sigiriya.

We could do with another pillow but we didn’t want to ask. It seemed petty.

Fantastische plek, 's nachts apen en olifanten vlakbij, lekker zwembad, prachtige kamer, geweldig personeel, ze kunnen heerlijke rijst met curry maken. Rustige, groene plek en toch heel centraal. Super relaxed allemaal. Top accomodatie!

Well, everything: - most importantly service provided by hotel staff, from the very first encounter. After long drive through the Sri Lankan traffic I was tired and the guy from the hotel met me by the road on his scooter to guide me to the accommodation - they had open kitchen with a variety of dishes at 21 o’clock which was perfect as me and my wife were tired to go out to look for places to eat - the territory is enclosed with a fence and they have parking spots, so it was ideal for me with rented car - the room was clean, smelled fresh and new (something I found hard to find in many hotels). - they have all necessary toiletry including hair drier - the room is very big, the bed is comfortable. - the territory is beautiful, lots of greens but the room and terrace feel private space because of greenery that separates the territory - nice breakfast - the property is close to the entrance to Sigiriya National Museum

We kwamen na een lange reis aan in een oase van rust. De tuin is prachtig. De kamer was érg groot met een heel comfortabel bed en schone badkamer. We konden lekker uitrusten aan het zwembad dat omgeven is door prachtige planten. De uitbaters zijn super vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Le calme et l’accueil, un endroit paradisiaque, nous avions oublié nos chaussures, le personnel nous a tout de suite contacté et ils ont immédiatement trouvé une solution, incroyable réjouissance pour nous et surtout la réactivité pour nous être agréable 👍🏻 proposition de repas local poisson grillé, petit déjeuner gargantuesque, chambre énorme et accueillante… ne pas s’y arrêtez serait une erreur ….

From the minute I arrived, the service was great. I was given breakfast before my room was ready to check in. They were able to get me in earlier than normal. I was struggling with a sore leg and they made an Ayurvedic tea to help! Beautiful location, well maintained garden and pool. Wonderful fresh breakfasts. And quiet. Someone complained about monkeys on the roof the week before I arrived. What did they expect in the jungle/rainforest?! 🤣 All part of the experience. To the team there, thank you. And I hope you enjoyed the vodka.

Amazing place, a tucked away little paradise! The amount of plants and wildlife is beautiful. We stayed for three nights and loved it. The staff and owner are so friendly and welcoming, very big breakfast too which was great. Very happy and would stay again.

Our 3 days/2 nights in Il Frangipane have been amazing! The facility is a little tropical paradise, well maintained and well designed: perfect for some relaxing days. The room is really big, clean and with modern furniture, as the bathroom. The breakfast is big, a good mix between English and srilankan breakfast. Their best strength is the always kind and helpful staff! They’ll always help you with a big smile! Thank you for those amazing days!

A great place with great energy and close to all important sites. The staff and owner were extremely helpful and organized and amazing and very personal scooter / tuk-tuk tour with the family. Cool pool and spacious facilities. Good internet.

This is an amazing Place to stay. Best location , big clean rooms and fantastic breakfast included Dinner war Great as well !! But the best is the friendliness of the owner and the ENTIRE staff. They organized a lot of things for us, did. a great rice fiend tour for us, customized and ballooning. And even did babysitting Sooooo nice people Thanks 🙏

We loved loved loved il Frangipane! Very authentic and super comfortable setup! Everything done with great taste, rooms are super big, beds comfortable, great shower!

Moderne, grüne Anlage. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Ebenso die Lage war super. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und wären gerne länger geblieben.

Very friendly staff, supporting with whatever you need. Excellent service and really nice breakfast with tea, fruits, bread and local bread straight from the frying pan. The pool and garden is a super nice place to hang out.

Fantastic stay close from all the hot spots of Sigiriya. The staff was extremely helpfull and friendly. It feels like you are in your own oasis, with a beautiful garden and an extremely clean pool. Also, they have a pet cameleon.

Price can seem high compared to the rest of the country, but this stay is worth the price.
