Views from the cabin were absolutely gorgeous. Cabin was clean and well appointed. Alex oir host couldn't have made the check in and out process easier. He stopped by to explain how everything worked and provided some information about the surrounding area. This will be a trip we will never forget. I can't think of anything that would have made the stay more enjoyable other than more time there.

Overall great stay! The owner met us and followed us up to the cabin to show us around. He left us to ourselves the rest of the time but was always available if needed and very helpful. The hot tub, mountain view, and inside of house is as advertised. Beautiful view from the porch and hot tub! The cabin is very secluded and quiet. We stayed to ourselves the whole time. The road up was a little steep and tricky but manageable. Couches could have been a little cleaner but other than that no complaints. Very nice cabin and would definitely return! Only 1 restaurant and 1 store but the restaurant was closed and the store has very little. Closest grocery store is 20 minutes away. Bring what you need before getting there!

This is a great location for a short get away with beautiful views of the lake and a cabin that has everything you need to make wonderful memories. Alex was great at welcoming us to the property, giving us advice on a few local places and making sure we had everything we needed. The hot tub and the fireplace were excellent additions and were well used during our stay. This is definitely a place to look into if you're interested in visiting the Lake Nantahala area.

The cabin has gorgeous mountain and lake views. Alex met us when we arrived, showed us his dock, around the property, and told us a bit about the area. Then, let us alone, but did let us know if we needed anything, not to hesitate to reach out to him. Even though there are two other cabins on the property, it's very private. The biggest drawback, is getting to the cabin. The cabin's driveway is tricky and the road into Topton, (Wayah Rd.) is extremely windy. It's also a long way to get to stores, restaurants, etc.

My husband and I just got married in Topton and used the cabin as our get away after the reception. The hot tub was fantastic, the bed was super comfortable, and the view during the few hours we were there before the wedding was wonderful. The drive up is a beast, which we hadn't known about ahead of time. You definitely need a 4-wheel drive to get up, but I would not recommend a truck because theres barely enough room for one car to go up. Overall, great!!

Perfect place to relax and take in the scenery.

This was one of the best vacations I've ever had and part of it was because of the owner Alex and this cabin. The location is beautiful, the cabin is beautiful, and Alex is very friendly and knowledgeable, but also quick to give his guests privacy. Pros: There is a diner just down the road that serves really good food and offers a great view of the lake from the deck. There is also a marina that offers boat and jet ski rentals. Alex does have a dock with canoes on it but it's a little tricky to get to. Also nearby is horseback riding, a portion of the Appalachian Trail at Tellico Gap that will take you to a watchtower (difficult 40 minute hike but worth it), and more hiking on Bartram's Trail (but we didn't go on that.) About 20 minutes away is a little town called Andrews. There is a nice grocery store there but stay away from the Japanese restaurant! Cons: None Things to know: The road up to the cabin is verrrry steep. After a few trips up and down it won't seem so bad but that first time up feels like the car is going vertical. The cabin IS secluded but not isolated. There are 2 other cabins on his property but they are situated far enough apart that you can't see them. We tried to rent a boat from Lakes End Marina and every single one had been rented for a week or more. I thought "bad luck" but while I was there he took several reservations for a week at a time. I hope to stay here again. Actually, I hope to just move here when I retire! I highly recommend this cabin.

We absolutely loved our stay. Location is great and the view is amazing. Alex aka Lex greeted us at the cabin and showed us around and gave us great info about trails on the area. You have everything you will need at the cabin. Toilet paper and dish soap included. There is coffee filters already so just bring your favorite coffee. The hot tub was amazing and we used the frill as well. We loved every aspect our stay and we hope to come back again some day

The cabin was beautiful and secluded. Alex was very kind and helpful, all of his recommendations were great and well worth checking out! Just be prepared for driving up and down gravel roads a good bit - at the cabin and hiking spots.

Alex showed us the ropes at check in. The cabin had everything we needed, but if you're planning to cook you may want to bring additional items (knives, casserole dishes, tupperware, etc). Unless you like steep hikes, plan on taking the 1 minute drive to the marina or the canoe landing. The outdoor space is wonderful, particularly during the daily afternoon showers. The cabin feels very private and secluded and the view is amazing. My family vacations here every year and I will definitely be booking Alex's cabine for next year.

My family and I visited Nantahala Lake all the way from New Mexico and it was well worth the trip. Our host Lex was responsive and accommodating throughout the whole renting experience. The cabin was clean and well equipped for our family of four. We loved that the lake was quiet and surrounded by national forest. Being close to the marina was very nice. We would definitely visit again!

Beautiful view of the lake, although it's not as close as it looks in the pictures. Wooded setting, with no traffic. You have to drive at least 30 minute in any direction to go out to eat. There is a restaurant at the bottom of the hill but it was closed the whole time we were there. It is a beautiful area. The waterfalls are breathtaking. Alex was very quick to respond to our request to rent and helpful about what was in the area.

Loved staying here! Alex was most accommodating. The sheltered hot tub was GREAT, even in the pouring rain! Cabin was quiet, clean, comfy, and very peaceful after several days on the road. Kitchen could use a deep casserole dish and cookie sheet, but other than that, we had all we needed for our stay!

I found this cabin by doing a search for, ( cabin for rent with a hot tub and a view in the mountains, NC.) I spent a couple of hours looking at pictures of cabins along with prices. When this cabin popped up, I was skeptical. I am happy to say, when my wife and I arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to have our expectations exceeded. There is no deception in the presentation of this property. I would like to be selfish and say, don't stay here so that it might be available for us to book at our leisure. Can't do it. This cabin is everything you see in the presentation. No photo shopping. Alex is a great guy that, I believe, will go out of his way to see that his guests have the mountain experience they were looking for. Thanks again Alex. I will be in touch. What a beautiful place to escape the pressure of everyday life.

My newly husband and I enjoyed our stay so much we want to do it again next year. Alex was so kind and gave us so much information and things to do. I highly recommend staying in one of his cabins. My husband and I stayed in this little cabin in celebration of our 25th anniversary. The weather was still a little cold, so we didn't get to use the hot tub or the canoes much, but the Jacuzzi was a great alternative. The owner Alex is very accommodating and met us at the front door upon arrival to welcome us to his home. The cabin is not secluded off by itself, but nonetheless it is private and charming. I loved not having cell service; however, if your phone is capable of connecting to Wi-Fi calling you won't have any problems. Alex offers unlimited wi-fi at the cabin and a landline phone, so you're not totally disconnected from technology :). The view from the porch is beautiful and peaceful. The small town of Andrews is only a 15-20 minute drive, and scenic. Andrew, NC has restaurants, grocery stores, and a Dollar General. The waterfalls going back toward Highlands, NC (45 min. drive) are breath taking. I cannot give this cabin and owner enough praise. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the cabin once the leaves come in and there's more life on the trees... I can only imagine the fall season!! Hey Alex - Don't forget the pontoon idea :) Would love dinner on the lake! Keep up the great work!

We stayed for our honeymoon. The cabin was very nice. It had some pros and some cons. I loved the kitchen, the appliances were all in fantastic condition. However, many of the cooking utensils and pans were a bit dirty. Not a big deal, I just washed them. Just a note of something to check. The deck was fantastic! The view was just absolutely breathtaking! We enjoyed playing ping pong and relaxing in the hot tub. The biggest disappointment was the grill. It was one of the $20 Walmart specials. Trying to grill fresh veggies, steak and shrimp on it was challenging. I was concerned that as wobbly as it was that it was going to collapse on the deck and cause a fire. There was also no grill brush or pot holders. It wasn't something we felt we needed to complain about then, as there wasn't anything that really could have been done. But it is something to consider in the future for an update. Something else that would make a nice addition to the cabin would be a fire pit out back. The chiminea also seemed a bit hazardous with its location on the deck. The last thing we want to do is accidentally set fire to the lovely, little cabin. The woodburning stove in the cabin was wonderful. It was a bit cool and windy during out visit. It kept us nice and toasty. There is a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, but it is enormous and the hot water tank is only 40 gallons. It probably would have been nicer to just make a large walk-in shower instead. The bed was plenty large enough, but the pillows had definitely seen better days. There is HD satellite, but the television is an older model not suited for that and the picture was fuzzy. There were canoes that could be used, but it was very windy when we were there, so we opted not to try it. However, just looking at the paddles, there were two wooden ones, but one was cracked and held together with duct tape. There was a child's paddle and then there were two plastic rowboat oars. The lake shore was very nice though, and we really enjoyed fishing there. Overall though, we had a wonderful time. It was a nice escape and Alex was very pleasant to work with. The view was gorgeous, the nights were quiet and the cabin was close to the small stires and marina on the lake. The construction on his new cabin did not bother us at all. Don't let my review deter you from staying here. They are just some recommendations for Alex for future improvements for guests to come. Thank you so much for the wonderful visit!

My husband and I just returned from this place. It was wonderfully quiet even though the road was not far away. We desperately needed a vacation and this place was the perfect place to take that vacation. One thing that visitors may want to know is that many places around the lake are seasonal. We were disappointed by that, but that did not ruin the vacation a bit. The owner was friendly, the hot tub was hot and clean, and the hammock was comfortable. We would like to return sometime.

My husband and I just spent the best week here for our honeymoon! I could not have asked for anything better! This was everything we were looking for and more. We will definitely be coming back, and so should everyone!!!!

We spent a wonderful romantic weekend at this perfect cabin on lake Nantahala. The cabin is equipped with everything you could need. The location is just awesome: breathtaking view from the porch, very secluded and close to a lot of local attractions. Although the weather was not perfect, we still enjoyed every minute of our stay. We definetly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a romantic getaway, an adventurous experience and to all nature lovers. Alex was the most helpful, hospitable and entertaining host that you could ask for. Thank you for the great Weekend and memories at your wonderful cabin. We will definetly be back!!!

First off I just want to say that the pictures do not do this place justice. It is a beautiful cabin inside and out! My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights and 4 amazing days here to celebrate our 7th anniversary and we had the best time!! Alex truly is a wonderful host. He met us at the cabin the night we arrived to make sure we knew how to use the hot tub and show us how things worked within the cabin. The appliances in the kitchen really are top notch! The décor through out the cabin is beautiful, and the bed is really comfortable. The views looking out on the lake from the porch are breathtaking. The wrap-around porch is wonderful! It rained a good bit while we were there but that didn't bother us one single bit we made great use of the hot tub and hammock. The day it didn't rain we took the little hike down to the lake and used the canoe. We had so much fun! This is a place we will certainly come back to. We really can't say enough good things about this cabin. It was PERFECT! We had the best romantic weekend we could have asked for. Thank you so much Alex for sharing this little piece to heaven. We can't wait to plan our next trip!!
