We stayed there for our son’s wedding weekend and it was perfect. Accommodations were wonderful. It was clean, bright, beautiful and lots of room to socialize with family.

It was a fantastic time, the Cabin is amaizing and everything we need was there.

Our daughter was getting married at Nantahala Weddings. We wanted to be close. Can't get much closer than this property. Very clean, well appointed, and failry easy access. Ample.parking once up the hill. No cell coverage and the internet is spotty. Who needs it! Enjpy the view and the got tub instead. Owners were very nice and easy to contact. Just rent it and enjoy

Beautiful property that met all expectations. The view and home layout are the best we've seen in over 5 trips to the NC Mountains. Owner was responsive and helpful. Bottom line, we really enjoyed ourselves. Property is secluded to recharge, but close enough to activities when we wanted them. highly recommend!

We had the most relaxing and comfortable stay!! Had all we needed to be comfortable and unwind for a weekend get away. Very peaceful location. Host was very responsive when needed.

Our son got married at Nantahala Weddings, and this home was a 1 minute drive to the venue - it couldn't have been more convenient. The place was as advertised with a great view of the lake. Everything was clean, and there was plenty of space for a family celebration. Thank you Kathy.

The owners were so accommodating since the moment we arrived at the property. People like this are hard to come by nowadays. Everything was clean, neat and in order! Everything that you needed was already in the Vrbo description so it was very helpful! The view was phenomenal, the lower and upper decks were absolutely stunning, the firepit area was perfect. The private dock right down the street was great and everybody enjoyed it. If you have younger kids coming to this property, just be aware that the driveway and drop off by the drive is only divided by a small wooden fence, so you have to make sure kids are watched at ALL TIMES. Our stay was great so thank you for having us! :)

We had such an incredible time at this cabin we hardly wanted to leave! We were provided with many resources and very thorough instructions. We loved the bear theme through the house and we felt right at home! Can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10!!

Beautiful, clean home with lots of amenities and gorgeous views of the lake. We spent a lot of time on the deck taking pics of the lake and surrounding mountains and lots more time on the private dock kayaking, boating, taking more amazing pics, and just hanging out as a family. Highly recommend. The property owner was wonderful and always responded quickly to questions, Added plus was the property had wifi (which we didn't use much because we were out and about) and the driveway and parking situation was much better than most properties we've visited and seen in Nantahala.

I rented the house to be very close to the wedding venue next door. The location was perfect and the view was gorgeous. It is beautiful there and this house is a perfect place to stay to enjoy your time on the lake.

We had a wedding nearby and this house was the perfect location for some of the wedding party. It’s one of the closestz to the venue, easy to get to, and has plenty of parking. Being on a mountain, many of the houses and driveways are very steep to drive to. But this was perfect.

Wonderful vacation spot. Cabin had everything we needed. Private dock is perfection. When I had a question the owner responded promptly. Close by breathtaking waterfalls and the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Wish we had stayed longer.

The cabin was lovely. Clean, spacious and very welcoming. The host was very kind and always available for any questions we had. The location is perfect for a day on the lake or sightseeing. We loved everything about it and are already talking about a trip back next year.

This was the best cabin and setting for a Natahala Wedding. Not only were the views absolutely radiant, but the location was so close that it made the weekend perfect! I want to thank the owners for doing such a great job of upkeep, presentation and making this a stellar weekend!

Perfect location to our daughters wedding and remarkable breath taking views from the home and both decks!! I have already provided the listing to two friends that loved our photos. This is a spectacular place to spend a getaway from the bustle of the city, the cabin is beautiful, super clean and well equipped. The road to get there's long and a bit dangerous but a little of adventure is also enjoyable, it is worth to enjoy this paradise.

We had a wonderful time attending my niece’s wedding. It is right next door to the wedding facility and was an easy walk. House is great, everything you need, except an electric kettle!! So drinkers be warned. Wonderful views and a beautiful great room to sit and enjoy the scenery. Very responsive owner, couple of texts and they were answered in seconds. All in all a very good experience.

The roads to get to the property are very narrow and steep.

We were in town for a wedding. The house could not have been more perfect for our stay. I would highly recommend this property, especially if you have an event at the wedding venue next door.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The house is in a great location with an outstanding view and the dock was just a short drive away with the perfect set-up to hang out by the lake and dock the boat. Can't wait to go back.

The views from Kathy’s place were so serene and beautiful. We loved hanging out in the hot tub and at the dock! The house was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. My family really enjoyed our stay!

When our teenagers walked into the house they ran around screaming because they thought it was so amazing!! The views from the house are beautiful and the setup of the house had everything we needed and did not make us feel like we were on top of one another.

The Bairs Lair is a quiet cozy cabin in the heart of the mountains. It was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. The view from the deck is absolutely amazing! The dock is a short drive down from the cabin, but a wonderful place to play on the water. We would definitely stay here again!

I did not actually stay at the property, I was getting married that weekend and rented the cabin for members of a wedding party. Miscommunications occurred that led to guests who owned a dog staying at this property which did not allow dogs. I was charged my security deposit as a result and here is where the only issue arose. After speaking with the host, I was made aware that my security deposit would simply not be returned to me, but no additional fee would be charged. I accepted this but was surprised to see an additional $500 be charged during my honeymoon, from none other than vrbo. I was confused because I was led to believe that no additional charge would come, which was not true. Apparently, I should have informed the host that I used a debit card before being told this information, because a security deposit was never charged for my stay. I believe I am the first person to ever book a VRBO property and not be charged a security deposit! What a historic moment! Anyways, after VRBO was quite unresponsive, I was blessed enough to receive financial advice from the host, who told me that I should do a better job of handling my finances, because I would have known a security deposit was never charged a year ago when I booked the property along with ten other properties for me and my wife’s special day! This was the day after I was guaranteed by the same host that no additional charge would come to my account, I would simply not be refunded my deposit. Hey, she may be right, she made sure to demonstrate her financial might by oddly bragging about the number of properties she owns, to the individual who booked ten properties for their own wedding to accommodate guest, kind of odd. Lastly, don’t list your cabin as a suitable place for wedding guests to stay and then be upset when the wedding guest throw down a little, it’s a wedding? The place looks nice in the pictures though.

Great property, up a typically steep hill but not far up. Gorgeous morning view of the “Smokey” Nantahala Lake and the very looong evening sunset, not fully dark until nearly 9:30 pm. Comfortably furnished and equipped. Highly recommended.

This is an location! It is only a 5-10 walk to Nantahala wedding venue. Bed (and pillows) were comfortable and everything was immaculate. The only downside was the gravel driveway. It made turning around and coming up the hill a little treacherous.
