Geweldig hostel! Personeel is super vriendelijk en flexibel. Het is een heel sociaal hostel en er worden veel activiteiten georganiseerd! Ik zou hier zeker naartoe gaan!!

Cet endroit est vraiment très bien entretenu, et décoré avec goût. Le personnel est tout simplement incroyable, ayant constamment le sourire et prenant soin de vous. De nombreuses activités sont disponibles et certaines gratuitement. En logeant ici vous participez à l’emploi local car Roy’s fait travailler ses amis et ses connaissances de son village natal, il vous transmettra également de très belles valeurs 🙏🏼

Roy’s is amazing - it’s more of a hotel but with the hostel vibe. Socialable and great for any traveller. Loved having everything organised for us and doing activities as a big group and the shared main area with free cooking class and ‘family dinner’ was lovely. Really nice to meet people at the start of our trip too and the staff were so friendly. Loved the smoothie bowl for breakfast in the morning too and the amazing burger we had. Wish we had stayed longer!

It’s already been mentioned but the soundproofing in the room - we could hear the couple next doors whole conversation which resulted in us getting no sleep when we had to be up for a sunrise trip (although they were being pretty loud so probably fine if you had someone quiet next door) Our bathroom door kept getting stuck also It would also be great to have some mosquito repellent or something to drive them away in the shared dinner area - we came away with about 20 bites each… Only minor things though!

De vibe! Je eet gezellig met iedereen savonds als 1 groote familie. Ze hebben activiteiten en uitstapjes en kan er mensen ontmoeten. Leuk ingerichte kamer ook😊 En heerlijk gegeten ( wel wat duurder dan in vergelijking op andere plekken )

Er zat veel te veel ijs in de cocktails. Ook is verblijf, eten en drinken wat duurder dan andere plekken. Maar voor de rest was alles top! Heerlijke plek leuke sfeer.

It was best choise to stay in roy’s villa. Amazing owner with his team were very welcoming. The food was best we eat in Sri lanka. We took hike, safari, Roy did the dinner lesson all best quality. So special place.

We loved that the property was out in nature and the main building has an upper floor with great views of the rice paddies. Great to kick back and relax with a cocktail or beer after a long day of exploring the area. The team were friendly, helpful and booked excursions for us. We loved the owners sons who kept my partner entertained playing football with him! Food was great also!

We booked a private room but it wasn’t very soundproof and we could hear the conversations of the people in the next room. The bed was also quite small.

The dorms are great, very large bed with a wooden wall separating the beds so it feels very private, also personal locker and electrical outlet. Dinner is buffet style curries, very delicious, and they made it into a cooking class for everyone. Breakfast expensive but amazing with acai bowl, eggs and hoppers. Good vibes for solo travellers in the evening.

Half the property is under construction which was noisy and looks messy. No yoga class. Dinner and breakfast is expensive but reasonable considering the good food, but the rest of the menu is severely overpriced, like european prices - and the mango lassi was tasteless. They also charge 5 USD per person just for the shared truck that takes the guests to Pidurangala rock which is ridiculously expensive. I am willing to pay extra for quality hostels, but it needs to be reasonable.

Beste hostel waar ik ooit in gezeten heb!! De kamers zijn super mooi, schoon en lekkere bedden. Er wordt elke dag iets georganiseerd en het personeel overlegd met iedereen wat ze willen doen de dag erna! Elke avond is er heerlijk family dinner en het ontbijt is ook top! Het personeel is zo bijzonder! Hele lieve en hardwerkende mensen. Roys villa voelt als thuiskomen. Als je in Sigiriya bent, kun je dit verblijf niet missen.

Fantastic 2 nights at Mr Roy’s! Super clean and modern hostel! Mr Roy and Mr Sunil and the rest of team provide a great atmosphere! Super social hostel as many activities are arranged. On arrival I was invited to join for the sunrise which takes care of viewing lions rock! This is a perfect place for solo travellers! Good luck to Mr Roy and thank you for an exceptional stay :-)

An absolute must stay if you're visiting Sigiriya. The rooms are large and very comfortable with excellent beds and AC. Roy and his team have created an excellent space to relax and socialise in, with the fantastic bonus of group meals and organised trips out e.g. sunrise hikes, lake swims, safaris etc. Do not miss out on this hostel!

High prices for food or beverage

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at! Amazing area, lovely people, they really portray the kindness of Sri Lankan people. Couldn’t think of a better place to enjoy the beauty of the country. Thanks a lot!!

The staff is unbelievable friendly and constantly trys to fulfill all wishes of their costumers. The hostel offers nice activities, really delicious food (try their banana milkshake!) and very cozy bungalows-- especially for couples highly recommended!

Roys place is very nicely located next to crop and vegetable fields. You can easily go on any trip you want with other guests organized by roys team (sunrise trek, safari, temples) and have a cooking class and dinner together in the evenings. It's all very clean and the place is just well managed and beautiful to hang out on the terrace or at the fire place.

For a hostel it's pricy but it's still very good for what you get.

Stayed here with my sister. Amazing staff, great facilities and fun activities. More than just a good accommodation, an experience, it felt like a big family! + the place itself was beautiful.

Roy’s was one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Perfect for a relaxing yet exciting time. If you are looking for a place to calm down and explore the surrounding area and still connect with fellow travelers, this is your place to be. Roy is an incredible host and does everything to make your stay comfortable. He and his team (all friends and family) organize activities in the Sigiriya region every day - like morning hike to Pidurangala rock, elephant safari, visit of the ancient cities in Sigiriya and Polunnaruwa and a evening cooking class. All for a very fair price! The rooms are very clean and feel like a hotel room rather than a hostel one. We were sad to leave but already look forward to come back soon. Thanks team!!

Amazing hostel, amazing people.

Roy is a man with a big heart. He's a talented chef, architect and interior designer - he's the mastermind behind this unique place. Roy treats guests as dear friends. And it's not just Roy: the entire crew of the hostel is very attentive and caring, for example they remembered how we like our coffee and our cocktails even though the place was quite busy. The dorms are extremely luxurious with very thick mattresses. This is a great place to spend a few days in relaxation. This is also a really good place to meet other travellers, we met so many people there! And there are several options for group activities. The food is great (with several vegan and vegetarian options) and Roy's cooking classes are fun and informative.

Roy's Villa is perfect. The place is absolutely beautiful, with so many lovely small touches. We stayed in the dorms and a private room and both are fantastic - the dorm beds are so big (small double) and comfy, great AC, so well decorated. The private rooms are amazing, hotel standard, so beautifully decorated and the one we stayed in had a gorgeous bathroom with outdoor shower. Roy and the staff are unbelievable - so friendly, funny, amazing service and just great to be around. The food is delicious, with family dinners every night, and the staff organise so many activities in the area. I would recommend Roy's to everyone - easily one of the nicest places I've ever stayed.

Everything about Roy’s villa is absolutely perfect. From the moment you arrive you feel like you are at home! Roy and his family and friends that help run the hostel could not be more helpful. They arranged trips for us every day (including an amazing elephant safari) cooked amazing food (+ a cooking class) and made sure we had the best time. The location is perfect, so close to Sigiriya but you feel like you are in the middle of no where amongst beautiful nature. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and great AC. I wish I could stay longer!

Roy and his team are so friendly and welcoming. they help plan daily activities and organise ‘family dinners’ for those who’ll be around the villa at night. it’s a great place to meet others!

the Villa is slightly out of town so requires a few USD Tuktuk to get into the village. not a problem as the staff are very helpful in organising.

Everything was amazing. This place and all the crew is super special. So much better than the pictures even if the pics are very nice !! will definitely come back, I promise !!!

Roy's Villa is an absolute paradise in the magical area of Sigiriya. Roy and the team are amazing, helping with whatever you need, and making you feel part of the family. They organise plenty of tours, excursions and activities and create an atmosphere perfect to meet and hang out with other travellers. The room was beautiful and super clean. I hope I can come back any time soon.
