We absolutely loved the location and outdoor space of this property! The beach is so close and an easy walk over the dune, even the 22 month old could walk it. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms have been very nicely renovated. The upstairs bedroom is very large and has tons of stuff for kids and babies, however does not have a door or well fitting baby gate for the stairs. The downstairs bedroom was very small and something to be aware of when booking. We did not use the bunk room but it was very cute and was nice to have the extra space. We spent most of our time enjoying the back deck and yard and the play set was a huge hit with the kiddo!

I would like to say that overall this was a fantastic place to stay. I do like to leave some details on feedback for future guests that stay, as I always appreciate reading through feedback. The parking is not next to the home - so be sure to bring a rolling cart or rolling luggage to get your stuff to the house. Parking is about a block away and the path to the house is concrete so it is pretty easy to navigate. Be sure to have a flash light if you return to house after dark as the path is not well lit. The house is in great condition and has everything you need in the kitchen. Owner provides all the essentials (toilet paper/paper towels/trash bags/dishwasher soap/soap for shower, towels, etc. The outside seating areas are endless and the deck is fantastic! The fire pit was the bomb!!! Fire wood is not provided, so again just make sure you have a cart for hauling firewood back to the house. We were hopeful that we would be able to see the water from the back deck, but the sand dunes are too high (no complaint here - just want others to be aware). You are able to hear the water at times. There are two paths close to the house maybe a block away that provide a wheelchair platform to get to the beach. These are much easier to walk on versus the path next to the house that goes up the large sand dune. We did not know that someone would be showing up to mow grass and also had someone show up to spray yard. I think it would be nice to let guests know the date/time when someone may be there to do these things. We were sitting on the back deck and a little startled when someone showed up. I did notice that someone left feedback that the pump under the house was very loud - we did not think it was loud at all. We had no problems with loud neighbors or any problems with noise - it was very peaceful. Overall great place to stay and would be very kid/pet friendly. Nice large back yard with grass, which is very hard to find in areas close to the beach.

My wife, kids and I stayed here in late August 2022 for our annual summer vacation. We generally try to get a house right on the water to enjoy sunsets, the beach, and the serenity of what the Great Lakes have to offer. There were both positives and negatives of this property. First, the positives: - The large yard is great! Our kids (12 & 4) loved being able to play around in the grass and on the play place. - The outdoor living space and decks/furniture were spacious and very comfortable. It was a nice area to read, relax and sip your morning coffee. - A/C was great! - Proximity to restaurants, parks, the zoo, train station, groceries, etc. was really easy to navigate and convenient. - The beds were comfortable as were the amenities. - The air fryer! - There is a great grill on the property. The negatives: - There is no parking close to the house. While it is only a short walk down a crooked path, this is not advertised in the listing. It was only really a pain on the load/unload part of the trip, but should be noted in the listing. - The sump pump is loud - like, prevent you from falling asleep loud. It goes off every ~ 5 minutes. We actually debated leaving a few days early because of the poor sleep we were getting. Had we known this was the case, we would not have booked this property; it made relaxing inside very difficult. - There is only one view of the water from the house - up on the second floor. I can't recall if this was mentioned in the listing or not. - The trek to the beach is up and down a large dune (which is also responsible for blocking almost all views of the water). While it's great for getting your exercise in, it does make you have to really plan out your trip to the beach and what you're going to bring. There is no time in which you will say "I'm just going to run back to the house real quick". Plus, for the kids (and if you were to have any one elderly etc. with you) it made the trip to the beach difficult. Overall, I think this is a *good* property that is a new sump pump and a little additional info of the property description away from being *great* in order to level set expectations. At the price point, there are certainly other properties (that we have stayed in) that do not have these negatives.

We enjoyed our stay at the beach. This house is so cute and has everything you need to for a wonderful stay at the beach. The sunset views are great! It is a great location to walk into town for a coffee, drink, or dinner. We are hoping to return again next summer to enjoy this house! It is also perfect for young kids. Our daughter enjoyed the play set and all the fun toys!

Overall, the cottage was an OK experience. The Sump Pump was very noisy at night. The air mattress that was supposed to sleep two, had a hole in it so we had to make due. My dog ran off because we didn't know from the photos that the left side of the yard was completely open. A few unclean areas, grill, spider webs outside and most of the doors didn't lock so there really wasn't any privacy. Maybe old school hook locks would work? The front 'Gate' needs to be completely replaced. But like I said, it's a quirky little cottage.

The cozy house has a beautiful view from the upstairs bedroom, plenty of outdoor seating options & a fun playset for the kids!

Overall, we had a great experience. House itself was “as advertised,” right down to the long, narrow path to get to the house. It’s certainly on the older side, but nice interior updates make it harder to guess the age of the house. Hosts have everything ready to make the stay comfortable. Very proactive as well, as evidenced by a quick refrigerator replacement in the few hours between renters. Besides the proximity to the beach, big selling points are the expansive deck and large backyard - as unusual as a unicorn for a house so close to the beach! Two items to be aware of that we may have underestimated, especially with 2 younger children: 2 very small bathrooms, plus the climb up the sand dune to get to the beach. Still, neither would prevent us from returning. If you want to enjoy the summer sun, this house is a great pick!

This place is great for kids. We had three little ones stay ages 2-6 years, they loved to run around in the backyard and play on the playground. The home is filled with drawers of toys inside and beach toys outside. Overall the house was so clean with a great location to the water. Aimee is a great communicator. We'll be back.

This home is darling and cozy- it is equipped w everything you might need and more. We have been here before and found it to be a really wonderful break from the daily grind. Love love love this home and Aimee is just wonderful to work with- we will be back!

This property was absolutely perfect for what we needed. In under a 2 minute walk, we were on the beach. My kids played with all the toys and books at the house and loved the swing set. The yard was perfect for when we weren't at the beach and for our dog to wander around in. The deck was huge and we spent a lot of time sitting on the patio furniture. We cooked most of our meals at the house and had everything we needed to do so. Everything you need for the beach, chairs, towels, buckets, is all provided. The only thing would be if you are a light sleeper, the sump pump is loud. We moved to the upstairs bedroom after the first night though and that helped to mitigate the sound!

We had a great time staying at this property. You really cannot beat the location! Its a short walk to the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The house has everything you need if you are going to cook and entertain at the property. We had a great time making memories as a family.

I rented the property for the proximity to the beach, just a short walk on private access. The house will have everything you need for your stay. I would definitely recommend and will stay again! Aimee was very easy to work with and answered promptly when I had questions.

Fantastic lakeside property with great interior design and the perfect amount of space for a family. The yard is INCREDIBLE and extremely rare in this area, and the porch that leads to it is equally excellent. The beach is just over the shallow crest of dunes at the end of the yard. Everything else about the house was excellent: cleanliness, communication, ease of use, instructions, and extra stuff like towels and bottle openers and things like that. The family room is a great hangout area and the A/C is running like a top. Fantastic sunsets also!

The house was very cute and charming. Well kept and clean. The neighborhood was busy, but the location of the house made it private and quite. Aimee was quick to respond and awesome to work with. Definitely recommend staying here!

We had a great week staying at this house! The location is great to walk to the beach and to many other areas of town. We traveled with our 1 year old daughter and the house was fully equipped for a toddler. The house had everything else you would need for fun at the beach/backyard. It made traveling a breeze! We hope to be back soon!

We had a great stay at this adorable house. We were a family of four, with two boys aged 6 and 10. We loved having the outdoor space of a huge yard (with playset!), with access to the beach just by walking over the dune. We came before "beach weather" but enjoyed walking on the beach with our pup. I loved being at a house that the owners clearly use for themselves, as well. It made for a well-stocked kitchen (enough pots to actually cook a meal! enough dishes for kids and adults! and other little details that I find often overlooked in homes that are pure rentals). Would be great for a family with littler ones than ours, too. Host was super responsive and a pleasure to work with. All around great stay!

We loved the location and general layout of the home and fully stocked kitchen with utensils and cookware and spices/condiments. Had booked intending to use fireplace, but not working, super disappointed. Loved TV setup, so easy to use. Owner was kind and generally responsive. We will consider returning. Grateful for sweet memories we made as a family.

Needed to be close to Chicago but with COVID times prevalent, we needed a great place to celebrate and get off the hectic grid. On the beach. Outdoor spaces are ideal.

Our family spent the week here, and we were thoroughly impressed with the location, responsiveness of the host, and the cottage amenities (the hosts thought of everything, including books/toys for the kids!). Perfect for our family of 4. The cottage is charming and quiet. The beach is a short walk over the dunes, the sunrises and sunsets are amazing, fire pit was great for smores, and the yard (with a playset for kids!) was everything we could have asked for and more. Close to the zoo, breweries, outlet mall, etc.

Stayed here for a girls trip! Right on the beach with great outdoor area. Close to New Buffalo wineries. The hosts were great to communicate with. Would definitely stay again

Great getaway, they thought of everything!

We had a great vacation and the location of this house was awesome. The large grass yard is very uncommon and there is nobody between you and the beach....truly beach front. Also the playset for the kids in the backyard was key. There were also plenty of toys, games, and chairs for everybody. The house was well stocked with necessary condiments and things for the kitchen. Overall we were very pleased with the stay and the property.

The property was so fun for our group of 6 women. Great location, and we spent most of our trip in the nice big backyard, on the deck and around the fire pit! Walked to the beach for a great sunset every night. Aimee was great to communicate with and we would absolutely stay here again.

Awesome house! Great yard and deck! So many inside and outside games, right by Lake Michigan! The owners made it a perfect charming lake house!
