We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The beds were very comfortable and each bedroom had it’s own AC. I used the sound machine provided to de-energize every night. It is obvious the owner cares about your stay, as he checks in with you during your stay. Sweet spot for Mid-coast Maine vacation!

This is the second year that my parents, daughter and I rented from Dennis, and if possible this stay was better than the first! The house was absolutely spotless and the check-in process was a breeze. The house is well furnished with ACs throughout. Where we spent our first summer exploring further out (Acadia, Castine, Rockland) this year we chose to stick closer to home to better experience what Belfast has to offer. The town has great restaurants, shops, and our favorite beer garden, all within walking distance. There’s a really nice golf course in neighboring Northport. We spent a lot of time reading, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views from the deck of our home. I would definitely recommend Dennis and his beautiful home to anyone looking to visit the Belfast area.

The location and the facility were superb. The proximity to the foot bridge and trail was a big plus allowing us to walk to downtown Belfast as well as on the nearby trail. The view of the port was fantastic day or night. The proximity to the downtown allowed us to be in the town but with a country feeling. The way the bedrooms were situated afforded us the privacy of using the second floor while our guests used the first floor bedroom/bathroom. We would definitely like to return. Dennis is a wonderful host.

Cozy cottage in a great location with a wonderful view. Easy and scenic walk to downtown just over the footbridge and the nearby rail trail is great as well. Views of the working shipyard are a plus. Appointed with all the basics and great communication with the host. Expansive deck that must be extra nice in summer. Great stay!

This was a charming house right on the water. We loved it.

The property was lovely and clean. Beds were firm but comfortable and the linens were very soft and nice. The house is within easy walking distance from downtown Belfast via a pedestrian bridge. We didn't really need to get in our car the entire trip! The views from the front deck were lovely. The only downside to this home is it's proximity to the highway. They have provided sound machines in the bedrooms to help drown out the noise of the traffic.

Whether you are the type of traveller who likes to park the car and explore your surroundings on foot, or just make it a home base for day trips, this house is a wonderful place to stay. We did a little of both during our week’s stay. It is an easy walk to shops, pubs and restaurants just over the footbridge in Belfast. It being mid-October, there were some early closings, but I’d expect regular hours in the summer. Other days, we visited Bar Harbor, Searsport, Camden, Rockland, and Damariscotta. There is more to do than just shop — but if that is your thing, you wont be disappointed. Several evenings we stayed at the house and cooked or ate finger food — we lacked nothing in the fully stocked kitchen — played games or watched a ball game. There is a good stock of puzzles, DVDs and games, great wifi, and several TVs. The beds are all VERY comfy, and the 4 adults in our party each commented what great sleep we got there. As some have mentioned, there is road noise in the mornings, but the hosts have provided white noise machines to remedy that, and we saw at least three fans (in the upstairs bedroom closets), if that is your preferred sleep inducer. This home was immaculate and well-stocked with paper products, cleaning supplies, toiletries, lotion and hand sanitizer. Even had shaving cream and a new disposable razor! Dennis was super responsive every time I messaged him, and besides solving my issues (both were my fault), he also offered some excellent restaurant recommendations. The decks provide a glorious view any time of day, and the weather was perfect for sitting outside with coffee to plan our day, or with wine to end it. Renting this home was an excellent experience and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Believe the photos and reviews…it really is as good as it looks!

Fantastic house in Belfast. Great location for enjoying the Maine coast. Short drive south to Camden/Rockport, and short drive north to Acadia NP. Dennis, the host, will take great care of you and has excellent suggestions for enjoying your trip.

Where to begin?! Although Dennis’s house was more than we needed, in that it had three bedrooms and there was just two of us celebrating our 30th anniversary, this house was such a sweet, perfect place to celebrate in so many ways. It was spotlessly clean! It is tastefully and very comfortably furnished. The house was very well appointed with no detail missed. There was an abundance of towels, full array of toiletries in both bathrooms. Every sink had anti bac and hand soap dispensers. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. There was a great selection of books for reading, and a large drawer full of movies. A basket full of brochures and magazines, showcasing all sorts of local points of interest, restaurants, etc. The location of the house is absolutely the BEST! The stroll over the footbridge is so picturesque, even after dark. The views from the house, from the bridge in both directions…….just beautiful! We took advantage of both decks and the comfortable chairs to catch some rays and do some reading during our mid day breaks. 😊 I’ve probably rambled more than necessary, but I couldn’t just pinpoint what the best part of Dennis’s house is. He did not miss a single detail; really a five star rental from the minute we walked in the door! Oh, and the mattress we slept on was so comfortable (better than home), I had to lift the mattress cover to take a pic of the mattress label. If you stay here, you will NOT be disappointed! My sisters and I enjoyed the cottage - very spacious, clean and had everything we needed! Would highly recommend this location as close to the footbridge which allows you easy acess to restaurants, shops and the beautiful harbor. Thank you for your hospitality!

The cottage was perfect for the four of us. It was fun to walk into Belfast across the bridge, and it was convenient to visit Bar Harbor, Stonington, Castine and Camden by car. We appreciated having a few cleaning products provided after arriving by plane and car.

Just wrapped up a great week in Belfast. Our family (me, my parents and my adult daughter) loved the area and especially the home. The location is great, close to downtown but with a remote feel. The first thing that struck us was how spotlessly clean Dennis' home was, followed by the amazing view from the oversized deck. The house was well appointed, with plenty of fluffy white towels and comfy beds. In addition to the living room, each bedroom has an air conditioner and a white noise machine, which come in helpful as the back of the house is right on Rte. 1. Don't be turned off by the proximity to the road, we barely noticed it as most of our time was spent on that amazing deck at the front of the house. The location is great, an easy jumping off point to many area attractions, including Camden (30 minutes), Bar Harbor (a little under 90 minutes) and Castine (45 minutes). The town itself is really cool, and includes a boardwalk that goes right through a working shipyard (don't miss the presidential schooner Sequoia, thanks Dennis for the tip on this!), several excellent restaurants (Darby's was our favorite) and lots of great shopping. There is also a 2.5 mile rail trail nearby. Dennis was an amazing and attentive host, offering suggestions on things to do and places to eat. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking to explore and enjoy the coast of Maine.

Stayed for a week in an immaculate home with charming decor and fabulous outdoor decks looking toward the harbor. The owner had everything covered right down to instructions on how to use the tv remotes. Plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and every utensil we could possibly need for cooking and dining in, but a short walk down the road led straight onto a footbridge leading right to downtown. We made five separate trips across in seven days to dine, shop, sightsee, and eat ice cream. Each bedroom had its own A/C and a sound machine—great for when my kids and infant grandchildren visited. Two different sets of friends also visited and all were impressed. A very nice place to relax. I brought a book and read the whole thing, but had I not, the owner provided a full library to choose from along with many family games. On site laundry was also a convenient bonus. I highly recommend this home for vacation rental!

Highly recommend staying here! The property was exactly as described and super clean when we arrived. Dennis was also available to answer any questions we had and gave lots of suggestions on what to see and eat and do in the area.

Dennis is a superb landlord, bending over backward for us as our plans shifted with COVID travel issues. The cottage is clean and fresh. We've stayed for many years in various rentals; sometimes the "Maine shabby chic" style is truly shabby. This cottage is of the style but not shabby - it is clean and fresh. The location can't be beat - walk to downtown, walk to Young's Lobsters, short drive to the supermarket. The wraparound deck is where we spent most our time - wonderful, and again, not worn or splintery. A super plus is the AC. Not many Maine cottages have it, and when it is hot, a cottage can retain heat and make you miserable. There is road noise in one bedroom and the bathroom, but AC and sound machine obliterate it. Highly recommend.

Tolles Haus, sauber, gut ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht. Die vielen Duftspender mussten wir entfernen wg. Allergien--die sind nicht jedermanns Sache. Vielleicht sollte man in der Lagebeschreibung die sehr nahe US 1 erwähnen. Für Lärm/Verkehrs-empfindlichen Menschen wäre dies ein Standort Nachteil. Ansonsten alles prima! Zugangsinfo war nicht ganz korrekt: kein "Schlüssel unter der Matte" deswegen sind wir erstmal wieder weg; danach fanden wir auch kein Schlüssel, aber die Tür war offen.

This home is exactly what we were looking for- a quintessential New England home overlooking the harbor. It was spotless on arrival, well stocked with just about anything you could need. Check in was easy. We did the Young's Lobster Pound experience suggested by another review and it was delicious. We brought the lobsters back to the house, added bread, salad, and wine and enjoyed the view with our meal. This house is a perfect spot as a base to explore the Maine coast. I highly recommend staying here should others want to visit Maine. Thank you Dennis for sharing. We loved it.

Dennis was a very gracious host calling after check in to make sure all was well and the home was to our liking. The home is very welcoming , clean and well equipped. The footbridge to town was a great asset as well as a beautiful walk. We did have a problem with the furnace which Dennis took immediate care of. Before checking out Dennis called again to simply say goodbye and to make sure all went well during our stay.

We had a great time at Harbor Watch Cottage. Very clean and convenient...walk to town for some great eating and fun shopping. Comfortable, cozy and sunny...very homey. It's close to the main road, but I did not find that an issue at all. We enjoyed both decks for coffee in the morning and a meal or two. Perfect jumping off point for other mid-cost Maine locations. Dennis was always quick to respond to any inquiry. Great place, great owner! Would love to do it again!
