Really enjoyed my stay at the Riverbend Retreat. Vince was so thoughtful and ensured that we had everything we needed. The house was more than accommodating to a group of 15 for a special event. We really enjoyed the amenities and the view over the river. The house is well taken care of and loved by the owner and feels like home. I would stay again.

Six anglers in town to slay some trout. We had an amazing time. After two full days of floating with professional guides, I caught the best trout of the trip off the back of this house. A 22" brown! Please catch and release so others may enjoy! The house is spectacular. So much more than we would ever need. Very well appointed in every room. Very thoughtful regarding amenities. Quality stuff. The owner, Vince, checked on us in person and is a total gentlemen and enjoyable guy. We will absolutely be back.

Gorgeous home with plenty of room for the whole family. Beds were comfortable and so dreamy to have all king beds. The landscape with the river right there is beautiful. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Our group absolutely loved this home! The river view from the back deck is stunning. We enjoyed fishing, walking in the river, soaking in the hot tub, playing pool, cooking on the grill and in the kitchen. It's a great home for a family trip, plenty of space and comfortable beds! The kids loved the theater room, the fun "party" lights in the dining room area, and the shuffle board table. Definitely would love to go back!

We had an amazing time at our family get together. There were 10 of us (7 adults; 3 kids), and we had MORE than enough room. First off, the owner of the property Vince Davis, is the absolute best host ever. We read this in prior reviews, and each and every review, was spot on. He was more than accommodating to anything we needed, or questions we had. When we first arrived, he gave us a tour of the home. This house is so large, you really need one b/c the rooms just keep flowing into one another. The house is wired for music via Alexa and each room has a volume control. Vince patiently showed us where the switches were for Alexa/remotes/ceiling fans/AC, etc., which was super helpful. The house itself is just exquisite. Every room is larger than the next! All bedrooms are suites w/adjoining bathrooms, so no one argued over who got which room. Beds were super comfortable too. There is a full size laundry room; theatre room, pool table, two large balconies (one with a jacuzzi/hot tub); large screen TVs in every room, including the balcony, huge dining room, a beautiful kitchen, which is stocked full of everything - TONS of dishes, pots/pans, griddle, toaster, coffee maker, blender, tons of cookware/dishes, large coolers for drinks; and a fire pit out back, which we used on one of the cool nights - you name it, the house has it. The house is right on the river and in addition to the beautiful scenery, we were able to hang out on rafts all day, while others fished. In addition to the house being equipped with rafts and fishing poles, Vince even has a machine to blow up the rafts! He really thought of everything. Also, many places to eat right up the road - lots of fast food places, in addition to an Applebee's and a really good Italian Restaurant, the Black Olive. There is also a Dollar General, Super Wal-Mart, Publix and Food City. My birthday was 6/24, so my husband was able to order a birthday cake from Publix, which is our go to grocery in Florida. Everyone had an amazing time. If your looking for a fun getaway - this is the place. It's secluded, yet close to everything, if that makes sense. Aside from your toiletries, you really don't need to pack much. Vince, thank you so much for allowing us to share your beautiful property, which allowed us to create really fun memories with our family. We are already trying to put another trip together for us to all come back!

This house was just fabulous for our family to get together and have an excellent family vacation! Vince was always available for questions, helpful and eager to do all he could to make our stay memorable! The house was perfect for our extended family with 5 king beds, 5+ baths, lots of outdoor space, plenty to do. Fishing, floating and just lots of fun! Make the reservation!

Very well built house, great location next to river and lots of activities to do in the house both indoors and out doors. Owner has provided all the features like pool table, hot tub, movie theatre, barbecue etc. Just one point to note: owner stays in the adjacent to the house which is connected / shares wall which is a plus if you need immediate help.

Awesome setting and property is great! Love the access to the river and the option to boat and fish right out the back door. Vince is very helpful and on top of everything. Couple of notes - add some serving dishes in the kitchen, complete some of the maintenance projects.

Our extended family gathered for a time to celebrate a high school graduate and expectant mother (both within the family) over the weekend at this amazing home on the river. The home was beautiful and spacious with so many fun things for everyone to enjoy. We fished, paddle-boarded, canoed, got in the hot tub, watched a movie in the theatre, played pool, laughed a lot and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Vince was a great host. He built a fire for us one evening and allowed us to use his fishing gear (and offered the use of innertubes, additional outdoor tables, chairs, etc.) We hope to return in the future. Thank you, Vince, for a lovely mini-vacation with the family!

This house is so neat and beautiful and very spacious. The movie theater, backyard and river view was awesome and everyone one of us enjoyed the stay. Also there are lot of attractions like Watauga Dam, Laurel falls, Off ground adventures and many scenic view trails. The owner (Mr. Vince) was so nice and very helpful. We liked to go for tubing and he helped us and guided to the starting point himself. We enjoyed staying here and like to visit again!!!

After an amazing vacation last year, we returned to the river house for another terrific holiday. With numerous extended family members in the area, we were able to combine visits with relatives, celebrations of family events (a 50th anniversary party) and active vacation activities all from one location. My favorite activity was floating down the river on our tubes (or kayak) and ending our run right in front of the house. The property was large enough to give all of our family members privacy, with their own rooms and bathrooms. Additionally, we kept the common areas in constant use. Family members played pool and indoor shuffleboard, while other members watched movies in the media room or roasted marshmallows for s’mores sitting around the fire pit by the water. A new experience this year occurred when we booked for the 4th of July. We had a family and friends barbecue and watched the fireworks over the river. The owner, Vince, is as nice and professional as they come. He lives on the property and is readily available to answer any questions or help should any issues arrive. The home itself is beautiful and the location on the river is just incredible, like the perfect setting for a really great movie. We will definitely be back next year for round 3!

Vince’s property was the nicest place we have stayed, and we have used VRBO for our family vacations for well over ten years! The inside of the house was even more spectacular than the photos indicate, and the outside is magnificent. We enjoyed the yard, waterfall/pond, hot tub, and the wonderful furnished decks. The river was great for fishing, tubing, and kayaking. We also hiked several great trails nearby, enjoying huge waterfalls and breathtaking mountains, as well as the beautiful Wilbur Lake. We are already looking forward to another family gathering at this awesome rental property!

This is by far the BEST place my family and I has ever stayed at... EVERYTHING about this property was AWESOME... the owner was very nice and helpful and was very informative about the property and activities in the area... would love to visit again someday

We visited the area for fly fishing. The house was a perfect spot for us. After fishing each day we relaxed on the decks by the river. The house is large, well equipped, clean, and very comfortable. The host, Vince, made it easy for us and was very attentive to our needs. I would certainly rent this house again.

We rented this space for some planning meetings because we wanted a place that could accommodate meetings, team building, and fun all in one location. This house was perfect. There were even some areas of the house not included in the listing pics and that proved to be a great surprise! Can you say, "home theater?" Being on the river was spectacular and called to us every day to come and relax before & after work. The highlight, however, was the amazing host, Vince. He was always available to answer questions and help us out. He even built us a huge bonfire and got the fishing rods ready for our group. If you're looking for a place to relax, make big family meals, sit and reflect by the water or fire, or just find one of the many spots in the house to chill, this is the place. It's beautiful, clean, spacious, and feels like you're in the middle of nowhere even though restaurants and shopping are minutes away. Can't wait until we can return!

All though sugar ants were a little bit of a nuisance, the kitchen has every utensil, gadget, cooker, mixer, pot, pan that anyone could ever need! It was a little awkward that the property owner aka “Housemate” lives and stayed in the home while we were there for the week and having people show up wether to work on upgrades on the home or to show a small group around the home while we were there. The property as a whole is beautiful with great views. Extremely spacious and all rooms very private.

Got in late and was able to just settle right in.Space was perfect for my husband and myself and our grown children with their children. I e had our thanksgiving and did our Christmas Photos’s .. will definitely go back

Our stay was amazing. The owner was very friendly. He gave us a tour of the house and showed us how things worked. Didn't see him again till it was time for us to hit the road. The view of the lake is breath-taking. I loved everything about this house. I miss our stay there already. Stores weren't far which was perfect. Only thing I suggest is that he have a little brochure about how things work in the house. He showed us when we came in but I was just amazed how beautiful the house was I didn't remember what he said lol. I will definitely be back.

The house was incredible for a long weekend get away and was in a perfect location to everything (hiking trails, fishing, restaurants and bars, grocery store, etc.). We would stay there again!

Took a work retreat for the weekend and enjoyed the property overall. The smell of smoke was unsettling at first and had a hard time getting in touch with the owner. Communication was the biggest downfall. Aside from a few oddities it was a fine weekend.
