The quality of the location is outstanding, as to is the amazing quality of food from the restaurant.

a reported broken cold water tap in the bathroom, making it impossible to clean your hands after using the toilet etc, and also to brush your teeth.

The location is simply stunning with the space to walk in beautiful countryside through their grounds. We made excellent use of the pool and the hot tub, both of which are exceptional. The evening meals now provide more vegetarian options and an interesting variety of starters, seemingly drawing on Welsh produce. I have allergies and the chef and front of house team were very careful to meet my needs - which I really appreciated. The lounge area is a great place to relax in also. Bedroom and en-suite were both comfortable, relaxing and scrupulously clean. The staff at the hotel are really professional yet friendly, looking after the guests well, but with no 'over-fussing'. Well done team Lake House Country Hotel!

A personal dislike of mine is UHT milk. So a mini fridge in the bedroom, equipped with some fresh milk for those in-room cups of tea and coffee would be great. It means also the water provided could also be chilled.

Hôtel was perfect for relaxing, really peaceful and homely. Room was lovely and nicely furnished, location is really picturesque and the spa was fantastic. Food was delicious with some great vegetarian options at both breakfast and dinner

At times it would be good to have a little ambience music in the background as it can get really quiet. This is likely a personal preference though.

The team were amazingly welcoming and helpful - the owner’s son helped find a place to park in my large vehicle on the flat as there were issues with the hand brake. The Irfon suite is very comfortable and homely and I slept so well as it was very quiet. The hot water takes a little time to come through in rain shower but worth waiting for and is a lovely shower. The bathroom products have beautiful fragrances and I was able to purchase to take home from the Spa. My meal was delicious in comfortable surroundings - even though eating on my own I did not feel awkward as in other hotel restaurants. I particularly liked the dining room chairs as they were comfortable and supportive. I’d recommend the Spa as I had had a lovely swim and massage. As within the hotel, the team at the Spa are welcoming, kind and efficient. The hotel makes you feel home from home and offers a really relaxed feel. Having stayed in hotels worldwide I would say that this is one of the very best.

Shabby outside, really needs a good coat of paint. Paint peeling on front door, not a great look. Spa all booked up for our stay even though only 3 couples were in the hotel Friday night! I would never return here . Dinner a flat £55 each which is ridiculous for the quality, that’s excluding drinks. Those writing rave reviews are deluded. We stayed in a lodge in the grounds, bed really uncomfortable and shower just terrible. Totally overrated and outrageously overpriced for what it is. The staff are the saving grace of this place.

Price is too high, breakfast could be improved, very small portions and mixed up the orders.
