Tasty buffet at breakfast and dinner with a lot of choice, beautiful architecture, dark wood floors and furniture, red tiles, thick pillars, situation on a hill, the view, quiet place, smell of jasmine. etc.

Greatly impressed by Service by Vinoth Sundar who could be contacted 24 hours, even during off -periods to intimate my preferences and change in program. Vinoth makes Taj real home-stay for us during years of working with him at Pasumaiali. At Dining hall , Service by Subal & Avishek are exceptional. Both service and adoption of local etiquettes by Subal and Avishek are unforgettable with pleasing personalities.

Book a room in the original 19th century lodge. Otherwise, they'll place you in an uninteresting, sterile, modern stucco cottage. The lodge possesses a teak veranda with soaring ceilings and sweeping views of the city down below in the plains.

Service was excellent, friendly, and very accommodating to requests. I especially thank the manager Pandian whose smile, warm character, and willingness to accommodate, made the experience truly unique.

Hi We had a very good stay in The Gateway Pasumalai Madurai A Great & Excellent Hotel in a very beautiful location and environment, particularly with Peacocks. We enjoyed the stay started with very worm and friendly welcome by the Staff when we arrived, giving us all recommendations and advises to stay our stay memorable. Staff were there always to help with smile. Very particularly I want mention about Mr Thangapandian, a great excellent customer service and all rounder. He had answers for everything. He made sure our stay at the Hotel is memorable, he helped us in all our needs, he was there for us anytime, this is very positive for people like us return back many times and also recommending to our friends. His networking outside to help us is excellent. A great asset for the hotel. The next person helped us is the security supervisor I forgot his name, but Mr Thangapandian knows. Please give our appreciation to all of them. Two constructive improvement points - Resturant menu need more traditional Tamil Nadu food choices and who understand the local foods Next is please do better on the Drivers accommodation, the toilets and shower areas are very bad, the driver complained that it is one of the baddest experience he had over years. Because these words of mouth can damage hotels good side and reputation. Thank you Singanayagam Indrapalan

Breakfast was great. The ambience is great. Staff were friendly.

My driver was not given a space to rest. He was asked to sleep in the car. It was unacceptable as he drove us 8hrs to the hotel and he would need a place to rest just like us. We were coming from a 3 star hotel and they had sleeping space and food provided for the drivers.

Super friendly environment, comfy beds, room views , outdoor pool, spectacular scenery, a lot of peacocks and squirrels in the yard. I will come back again 😊

Breakfast must be improved

The service. The staff is very good. Especially Mr. Pandian and Chef Muthu Kumar went out of the way to make our stay comfortable.

Rooms are comfortable and offers a great city and temple towers view. Entire property is adorned with peacocks and tress and lush green meadows. Colonial touch on every aspect of room

Hilltop location with 360 views. Expansive grounds and gardens with roaming peacocks. Heritage property with large food selection in restaurant and large outdoor pool.

Although my room was very large, the 2 windows were sealed shut and blocked, so there were no windows!

The ENTIRE TEAM was outstanding in their service ! Right from the front desk, the Front Desk Manager, the housekeeping team, the in-room dining and the restaurant staff. The way they served the guest represents a belief ! They did not do this because it is their job. They did this because they genuinely believed in making the guests feel awesome and comfortable ! Special mention to Front Desk Manager Thangapandian, Chef Muthukumar, Restaurant captain Nalram. They were constantly proactively enquiring how else they could make the stay enjoyable !! This was Service Excellence in action !

Could have had more facilities like a massage centre. Nothing else that I did not like !

Mr. Thangapandian, a staff member there, was exceptional in helping me.

Didn't like the dinner. It was very pricey. I consumed only 10% of the subji, which I found insipid. Due to that, left early without finishing my course.

Mosquitoes. They should keep the swimming pool area free of mosquitos by regularly using sprays.

Lovely colonial property, full of friendly peacocks! Staff were very helpful and obliging. They helped us book a guide and taxi to visit the nearby sites. Good selection of a la carte choices in the restaurant.
