Our mini break was just what we needed. The hotel and staff were amazing. We arrived and was upgraded free of charge to a junior suite. The staff were outstanding. The food was delicious and the selection was amazing.

Lovely location. Our room was really pretty and we loved the thoughtful touches - homemade biscuits with the tea and coffee facilities and scented pillow spray were much appreciated! Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious!
We stayed in an accessible room because this was the only option for twin beds. It's a lovely room; the bathroom is a large wet room designed for disabled visitors, but once the floor was wet it stayed wet - we ended up putting a towel on the floor by the door so we could leave with dry feet - a mat would have been helpful for this. The bins are just behind the room, so after the pub closed it was quite noisy while staff got rid of the evening's rubbish, then early in the morning the rubbish was collected which was also very noisy.

Superb staff, good decor and excellent food
Room was quite small for an upgrade. The bathroom was particularly cramped with a tiny basin that had no surround where guests could put their toiletries and toothbrushes. The shower also needed a good scrub along the base of the screen which had mould on it

Beautiful building, beautiful setting. The staff are so friendly, nothing too much trouble. They made us and our dog really welcome. The food , both evening meal and breakfast were fabulous.

Staff where lovely but it just feels disorganized and poorly managed.

Beautiful old country house feel. Nice big garden. Breakfasts were great. Staff very helpful. Comfortable bed with quality bedding.
Would have liked more veggie choice on lunch and dinner menu. Could be clearer that 9pm kitchen close means you need to put in food order by 8.45pm

The showers took some getting used to to get them to work properly.

Old world charm!
No lift, too many stairs and narrow corridors. Not UHT milk in bedroom.

The decor, location, room, garden and snug/bar were fabulous. Felt very much at home and cant wait to return. The food was really good
We found it difficult to find, there doesn't appear to be a sign heading towards Burley and there is one on the way out

Food on the expensive side for what it was. Pillows in the room were a little thin.

We loved the peace and quiet. The hotel was an attractive building and it was in a lovely setting. The staff were anxious to please. Lovely food. The dining rooms in some hotels can feel somewhat crowded but the tables in the dining room at the White Buck seemed well separated which made for a more pleasant atmosphere when dining.
Our room was on the top floor with a dormer window. It was rather cramped for two people with a sloping ceiling on one side of the bed. It was listed as a cosy room, but it did detract from the overall impression of the hotel which was very positive otherwise. We had problems with the flush in the bathroom not working properly. This was mainly because the cistern took so long to fill up after one person had used the WC. It was fixed eventually but the delay in fixing it wasn't entirely the fault of the hotel.

Beautiful , elegant hotel. Charming staff.
Our small room was…small but we had a good deal so no complaint.

nice gardens and restaurant
double room was very small and cramped. Booked a double and was given a 'cosy double'. Far to small for two people and you could only sit on the bed!
Staff very hit and miss with service and friendliness which was disappointing ☹️

The room was nice but not being able to open the Windows was very uncomfortable the fan they supplied was very noisy breakfast was. A little disappointing and dinner was average the staff looked very scruffy wearing jeans and trainers to serve meals was disgusting you could not tell if they were staff or customers and serving food with dirty t towels
Uniforms for your staff and proper serving clothes and your manager in a suit not shirt and trousers with no tie
