I stayed in the annex building which I felt to far apart from the main hotel its a bit of a walk and up a steep hill to get to the main building.

Everything perfect....11 out of 10. Vegan options in the restaurant and great buffet breakfast. Beautiful garden, sculptures, architecture, and lake views. Super clean, comfortable room, cheerful staff.

I didn't like the fact that I didn't book a longer reservation.

The location for the breakfast is amazing, in summer on the terrasse, with a beautiful view on the lake and mountains. Wonderful gardens and plantations around the Hotel. Our Casa (Marta) was idyllic in the middle of the forest. Also easy for car park.

Rooms weren't very comfortable to put it mildly.

For anyone who likes a lot of quietness and serenity, this is the place to be. Very clean rooms. We liked that we could walk down to Ascona in 15-20 min. (and about 20 min back up for a fit person). Very nice bathrooms and showers. Plenty of parking spaces and good breakfast.

We booked two single rooms and the single bed is rather small. Not uncomfortable, but for anyone taller than 1.80m it would be an issue. I am sure the double rooms have bigger beds but it would be nice if the size of the single beds would also a bit better.

The receptionist was very helpful and kind. The room and bathroom was very clean.

A spectacular location overlooking Ascona and lake Maggiore. The staff were charismatic and fun. The breakfast was a wonderful experience sitting on the terrace overlooking the beautiful view. As this is a Bauhaus building, the rooms are very different experience than a normal hotel.

We had dinner on the terrace, which was very slow and a bit disappointing. That doesn’t appear to be a bar or lounge area for relaxing afterwards. The downside of the hotels fantastic location is that it’s quite a long way out of Ascona

A state owned property on a world renowned historic location, with national heritage architecture in Bauhaus style founded by the famous lifestyle movement. Ready to be a Swiss gem. The signaling is well succeeded as was the welcoming of Gyslaine at the reception. Very professional. The location on a private mountain with view on Ancona and Lago di Maggiore can’t be beaten. In short everything to be one Swiss best Hotels.

Reality unfortunately is very different. A badly managed museum Hotel trying to survive on the success and innovation of the past. Hospitality services is not existing. In an architectonically historic bathroom you find a one dollar toilet brush in plastic ! The dryer reminds of a Motel model and the towels are of minimal size and of quality. The typical beautiful Bauhaus lamp have on one site a regular warm color led bull and on the other an ultrawhite color old fashioned energy saving lamp. As a welcome gift you get a little Toblerone chocolate as if Switzerland wouldn’t be famous for high quality chocolate. The water kettle in the closet is made out of plastic. The cheapest model on the market. The classic swiss garden table on the terrasse is covered with a bottom down paper napkin !!! You arrive in the restaurant and wait for the waiter for 15’ like in post Soviet area communisme. Take an example on Villa Eden on Brissago Island where we spent the following night. Also a state owned property. It is possible to do better !
