Location, Tranquility and cleanliness. Excellent staff and courteous service.

The service and staff this time was beyond poor, food was below average for this hotel

welcoming, comfortable, great breakfast and evening meals on offer.

The room was on the 3rd floor of the hotel, which meant you had to remember everything before leaving your room and not a room for people unsteady on their feet, or who tire easily.

The staff were absolutely delightful.

Our room was up too many stairs!! Must check that next time!!

The dining room (by their own admission) is in need of refurbishment. Given that this on the plan, the only criticism is that the tables are much too small and therefore make eating less pleasant since space for everything was difficult and cramped.

The receptionist on arrival was really lovely could not have been more welcoming however on leaving the other receptionist was rather unfriendly , no smile no eye contact and she did not ask if we had a good stay or if we would be back in fact she was quite abrupt and I felt it spoilt our stay a little She did however sort out an issue when we were there very quickly, but even then I felt it was our fault and she made no apologies just complained that there were no staff and we felt like chastised children who were an annoyance! The cleaner however was really lovely as were the bar and waiting staff

The hotel was lovely. Recently refurbished and colourful. The garden was beautiful ( we spent a lot of time out there) and very well maintained. The staff were very friendly and polite and the service was great.

Our room was so so hot. The underfloor heating in the bathroom couldn’t be turned down and made the bedroom too hot. We had to have a fan running all night. The room was smaller than we expected and felt quite cramped. There was no fridge ( we needed this for the fresh dog food), no full length mirror and nowhere to sit to put on make up or do your hair. The one mirror there was was over the other side of the room to the tiny dressing table.

Nice buildings and staff were excellent.Parking is easy at back pf residential block.Bar is very comfortable and well decorated.

Bedroom ,sold as ;Test View' has no Test view, no rooms have river Test views! Ours looked over the nice central garden and main building which was fine. The only option of a winter tog type duvet was much too hot, mid September, with no heating on, window open.

Beautiful location on the high street in Stockbridge. Wonderful garden at back of hotel. Breakfast really good
