Basic clean motel in centre of Te Anau. Smallish rooms vs others in the area and a tad overpriced for what it offers.
Zero privacy as there are no curtains except for the blackouts. You got to pick between natural light and privacy and we picked former though it was odd. Non existent soundproofing. We had a large group with antique cars leaving at 7am and shaking the whole complex…

Everything was suitable for all our family , thank you for providing us all our needs, Michael the property owner was an awesome person keep up the excellent work mate we appreciate your kindness… we look forward to see you again when we travel to Te Anau

because it was cold the heater was put on and the electric blanket switched on as well so we felt comfy when we arrived, spacious room, spa bath fantastic

A lovely friendly, cheerful welcome from the staff after a long drive. Having the superior queen room was a Blessing, both with the spa bath and being on the ground floor. The room was fresh, spacious, clean and well appointed. Parking in front of or nearby the unit. Bella Vista is situated within easy reach of eateries and shops and the lake area. Also it is a good midway point from Queenstown, if going to Milford Sound or heading Sth, as I did to Invercargill and the Southlands area. Very friendly and helpful staff upon check as well. I thoroughly recommend Bella Vista and look forward to staying there on future trips to the South.

Staff so helpful. The receptionist told us the best time to set off to Milford - Luckily. As we JUST got there in time for our boat trip. Lucky we didn't stop off on the way. I'd recommend allowing 1.5-2hrs drive. She also was right about the local restaurants getting booked out and gave us a heads up.

no air conditioner and no screens on the windows so had to worry about insects with the windows open. Although has Wi-Fi, our cellular signal handled data faster

Great sized room with good facilities and easy walk to the main shopping/dining street.
Comfortable bed, good heating and nice little kitchenette. Michael the manager was lovely and welcoming too with lots of local advice
Walls are a bit thin if you're a light sleeper, some guests were up talking outside at 3.30am!

We were greeted by a the manager who was very friendly and accommodating. He let us leave our bags in reception while we waited for check in time. (We had arrived early and check in was not due to happen for at least 6 hours.
After a bit of cramped travel, it was VERY nice to stand under a beautiful shower, with fabulous pressure and hot water. The manager also offered us a room on the ground level once he noticed how heavy and cumbersome our bags were. We didn’t have to ask.

Michael was very helpful. The rooms were comfortable and very clean.

The location is perfect for a short walk into the centre of town or to the lake. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. Our stay was divided as we did an overnight cruise in the middle. The manager very kindly kept our room with our luggage for us, which was greatly appreciated.
