Really good location, beautiful setting. we went out of season so the terrace and pool weren’t in use but we will certainly return in season to make use of outside space.

We had a room without a balcony, but we still had a good view. The room was a decent size, the cupboard space was very good and the bathroom was fine, with an excellent shower and a large washbasin. The hair dryer worked well and was placed in front of a mirror - always a bonus! Large, comfortable bed. There is a safe in the room and tea/coffee making facilities. We elected to have breakfast at the hotel which cost E10 per person, which can be served in your room or in a small dining area off the pool (not the main dining room). Breakfast was perfectly adequate and was served at the table on a tray, with orange juice, yogurt, a pot of fruit puree, and a basket of bread, croissants and biscuits. Coffee was freshly made to order. We had a meal in the dining room on our second night. Very nice setting overlooking the water. Staff were attentive and spoke English if required. Two categories of menu plus you could chose any of the dishes a la carte. We all enjoyed what we had and I was surprised to learn there had been some negative comments on-line about the food served - there was nothing wrong with it and my only minor negative comment was that my choices were very limited as I do not eat seafood. However given where we were, I expected this to be the case and everyone who tried the various seafood dishes commented favourably. I had pork which was delicious. Rice pudding was also really good! The pool area is attractive and those with rooms on the ground floor had a semi-private sitting out area overlooking the pool which was a real bonus. There are good facilities for handicapped people with a wheelchair lift from the pool area to the main body of the hotel. All coronavirus precautions were well observed. Lots of parking available too. I think this is a 3-star hotel, but it felt better than that.

It was a bit cold, so I would have liked either the heating to be better or an extra blanket provided. However it was not a big problem.
