Very friendly innkeeper. Great have a lift to/from the station. Good food. Simple, traditional but generous room and facilities but the outdoor onsen was fantastic under the starry sky - my daughter loved it too. Quiet neighbourhood. Nice walk up to the snow monkeys park. Great WiFi was a bonus.

We really enjoyed our overnight stay at this minshuku. Everything was perfect: the wonderfully spacious and comfortable Japanese-style room, both the lavish dinner and breakfast and the property's own on-site onsen, which was fabuluous to dip into both early morning and late in the evening. We caught the local bus from Yudanaka station that dropped us right outside the minshuku and the owner kindly drove us back to the station the next morning. The owners speak no English but communication was successfully achieved through signage and translations of all key instructions/points of interest, but also helped by my daughter's ability to communicate in Japanese. It's a really convenient place for visiting the snow monkey park, the entrance to which is just about a 15min walk up the road.

The hotel is easy to find and a good stop to visit the snow monkey park. The outdoor onsen was a nice addition to our stay and the pool was really clean. The room was really clean and spacious. Staff is polite.

Dinner and breakfast were decent, although there was hardly any interaction with the owners/staff of the hotel, as we found our meals already prepared on the kitchen table. Staff hardly speaks English hence communication was limited to the very basics.

The onsen and room were fantastic! I slept so well and was quite warm and toasty despite it being freezing outside. They even picked me up from the Yudanaka station, which saved me a 30 minute walk or very long bus ride.

The location was perfect if you’re going to snow monkey park. The couple who run the hotel are excellent hosts and will even pick you up and drop you off at the station during snowstorms. the breakfast was adequate although I think you pay for the location and hot-spring more than anything. One thing i found was the room was a little cold, but I didn’t turn on the ac due to having dry skin. A solid 7/10.

Beautiful Ryokan with Onsen. The hosts were very polite and the traditional food delicious. We were picked up from the station and dropped off to the Snow Monkey Park on our first day. The hosts also kindly dropped us back to the station the next day. Highly recommend if you look for a traditional Ryokan experience with exceptionally friendly hosts and relaxing Onsen.

The outdoor onsen is absolutely breathtaking. Make sure you have enough time to enjoy it. The location of the minshuku is great for stargazing. You can even see the traces of the milky way galaxy.

the owner was great, she drove us to and from the train station and also to and from the snow monkey park without additional charge. very helpful, the facilities were great - everything was clean and safe. family friendly as well, I stayed there with 4 children and everyone was comfortable. highly recommend if visiting the area, great price for amenities offered.

Very friendly staff, drove us to the monkey park and to the station when we left! Organized us a birthday cake and flowers for extra charge and let us use the Onsen together since there was only one other guest.

The onsen was very nice. It was snowing, quiet and the atmosphere was very soothing. The hosts were very friendly and willing, and brought us to the train station in the early morning.

The food was plentiful and varied, but it was a bit too salty for our taste.

Everything was perfect! The owner picked us up at the station and sent us to the entrance of Jigokudani. The meals are tasty! The room is perfect for the three of us. I really commend the owners as handled all of their guests with care even if it is just the two of them! I will come back again soon!
