I'm not really one to make bad reviews but it is necessary to comment on the nightmare caused by the reception of the Real Salento Hotel, I come for a walk through Pereira and Salento and as a foreigner I am exempt from paying IVA (tax) the reservation made on booking.com includes Therefore, the hotel is supposed to NOT charge IVA at the time of check-in. Not even showing them the passport with the Colombian Immigration entry stamp was enough for the hotel representative to exclude me from IVA. and they charged me without hesitation, I have considered myself in two other hotels and they did not charge me the IVA turning to the issue of toilets, which are the towels and the bed linen are so used that instead of being white they already look yellow from so much use, they have no control over the children who play throughout the hotel without respecting that there are people sleeping even at 7am in short it is a nightmare to go through the Salento real hotel Eje cafetero.

It was little hot in the rooms and no ac. Apparently there are fans but you had to ask. I wish this would have been shared with us at check in.

Location is great, staff very helpful and kind. We didn’t discover until we were leaving but there is a beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant.

Everything was perfect

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were spacious and had a roomy bathroom. The hotel had a colonial style and authentic decor. Breakfast was phenomenal and the terrace provided a nice view.

We had a dehumidifier in our room but it was removed by the cleaning service. The dehumidifier was nice to keep in the room because it helped remove the humidity due to rain.

The bath and the view in the suite are outstanding. I loved the cozy bed. Such a great experience from the early check-in, breakfast, the kind staff always so helpful. The view from the restaurant is beautiful.

The manager was very helpful in sorting out some issues with had with our room. The suite is excellent unfortunately that was only available for one night during our stay.

The room’s are very basic

It was a close walk to the city center with all of the restaurants and coffee shops.

The wifi kept cutting in and out. It felt dirty. The beds didn’t feel clean, and the bathroom had bugs in it because they left the window wide open. There were no outlets next to my bed so I had to plug my phone in clear across the room. Staff were not super friendly and laughed at me when I asked them why my luggage was missing from their closet.
