The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond for us. Everything was very clean and our apartment was very spacious. Being right on the beach was perfect and everything you need is nearby but it’s on the quieter bit of the strip so doesn’t feel as busy and is more laid back.

Fantastic stay at Marakas, and the very professional, friendly and welcoming people there Katarina and Maria. We had a fantastic stay at Marakas - the breakfast is outstanding including the best orange juice, and a beautiful view out on to the beach. We spent a couple of days just chilling on the beach (the sun beds are private / for guests' use only) and there is a pool where you can freshen up. The room is large, clean and beautifully kept with very good air conditioning. Bathroom facilities are spacious and very nice to use. The interior design and furnishings are of a high quality with excellent attention to detail.

The wi-fi internet was slightly patchy, but we understand this is being worked on at the moment. Everything else was fantastic.

There is absolutely nothing we didn't like. Everybody is so nice, with genuine smiles on their faces, very approachable and helpful. We felt welcome, taken care of but we also had our freedom and privacy. The hotel is on a main street if Stalos but we were not bothered with any street noise. Apartment was very clean with daily housekeeping. Little pool was very much enjoyed by our two children, also the beach which was very quiet. Daily breakfast was verly delicious, some things repeating, other rotating and for us it was perfect. There are many restaurants on the main street, we can recommend Kosmas (just across), Friendly's (kind of fast food but super delicious) and an Italian restaurant down the street with very nice pizza. There is also a shop just across the street too. Overall, we had an amazing time, very relaxed holiday, just what we needed. We would love to come back and if we decide to go back to Crete, we will definitely chose this hotel again. Thank you Katarina, Maria and the team! ♡

This small hotel is run with a lot of care for the guests, we felt all the time very comfortable and well taken care of. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable. The breakfast is excellent, prepared fresh every morning. The beach is just a few meter away from the hotel. We would like to thank our hosts for the lovely stay we had.

Amazing location, beach is right in front of the property. Morning breakfast is served outside with beautiful view over the beach and sea. Rooms are well equipped for a comfortable stay. Katerina is a great host and very helpful. Gave us useful suggestions for places around.

I would give 6* if I could. Pristine conditions both indoors and outdoors. Delicious and rich breakfast in the morning with the sea view is something you won't ever forget. Highlight was the loveable staff though. They always wear smile and make you feel like at home.

We loved our week long stay at this family run hotel. It only caters for a handful of guests at a time therefore you really get 5 star treatment. A cot was set up for my son to sleep in when we arrived and thoughtfully they had stairgates installed so we could relax right away. Our room was extremely clean and maintained each day. The toiletries were top quality, I didnt even use our own, they were organic and local to Crete and even had some for our baby. The breakfast was so relaxing, outside and everything brought to you while you sat. And top quality home made goodies, fresh juice, you really couldn't ask for more. Every single restaurant you could need is within walking distance along the beach, we loved ending our day this way. Cosmas across the road was by far our favourite, top notch service, freshest food, a safe playground we could sit and watch our 17 month old play happily. It was very hot but under the trees it was beautiful to have dinner there. We stayed in a 5 star hotel before this hotel and I'm telling you now I'd stay here a million times over before choosing a resort again. Nothing compares to Marakas, don't think twice, just book it and thank yourselves later.

First time in my life couldn't fault a thing.

We had a wonderful stay, the staff was very friendly we felt familiar and comfortable. The breakfast was very nice and we received lots of informations for trips around the island.

It was a really familiar atmosphere. The spot is awesome directly at the beach. The breakfast was right next to the beach. Our room had a awesome view and we heard the ocean as soon as we opened the door of the balcony. Also the staff is really enthusiastic and really engaged to the vacationers delight.
