Lovely place , with a amazing view. Nice big room with ocean view. We had half board included, I am very disappointed about breakfast, instead a la carte dinner was very good, lovely staff good facilities, room was cleaned up everyday.

Еverything about the hotel was great. The staff was extremely kind, welcoming and responsive. The rooms were clean, spacious, cleaned and towels changed every day. We really liked the location of the hotel and the view of the ocean from the rooms. The food was sufficient and tasty. The fact that they don't offer alcohol is no problem for people who would like it, as there is a bar 200m away in the hotel next door, as well as in other bars and hotels around. The tides that sometimes flood the beach are not a problem either, the hotel is on a higher level with a sandy area with sunbeds, umbrellas and a pool which were great. On the day of departure from the hotel, after vacating the room by 10 am, you can leave your luggage until the flight time, as well as use everything in the hotel. Our flight was at 9.40pm and it was a great relief for us to have our day without worrying about luggage. We had a great 10 days and would recommend the hotel to friends and would happily return. breakfast was exactly the same every day, which isn't much of a problem

Smaller quiet resort just on the beachfront. Nice and perfectly cleaned rooms every single day. Friendly and all the time smiling staff that is very helpful. The beds were comfortable and the housekeeping came every evening to spray the room and prepare the mosquito nets. I was afraid of the breakfasts and diners based on some reviews but it wasn't as bad, it was actually pretty good considering you don't come too late when everything is eaten. For breakfast there were several kinds of bakery, nutella, jam, etc. salami and cheese missing but we did not mind. Diner is a starter, main course you can choose from 3 options and a desert and 1 drink is free. The hotel organized airport transfer even though we came and left at odd times (2AM and 3AM). Nice pool area to relax when the tide takes the sea away.

The biggest disappointment was the pool bar. I can accept language barrier but even if we showed several times what we want, they brought us something else and usually in very slow pace. By the time she prepared 4 ice creams the first one was already melted. And this happened several times during our stay. Considering the girl had just few orders a day she could focus more and make sure she gets the order right. I had once a banana vanilla smoothie and it wasn't tasty at all so I recommend to stick to fresh juices. Occasionally there is a problem with ravens from the beach. They come to dining area and sit above you and may eventually poop on you or the table. The first morning was really disgusting, the other days was quite ok.

-good location at quieter part of Nungwi but still near to center of Nungwi village - room was good location and not many rooms so it’s pretty relaxed and quiet - beach is good not like Kendwa but for Nungwi quite good - sunbeds give you some privacy as beachboys cannot enter the hotel so it’s relatively relaxed. Beach boys still yell in from the beach and try to solicite but at least they cannot enter - reception kind and polite - hotel feels safe - you can lay in your sunbed at the hotels land and see, enjoy plublic beach

- breakfast and dinner are very limited not very good at all - for some reason they turn off the music during breakfast and dinner /after breakfast and dinner they turn it on again/ it’s not so nice to sit there and not have music during meals - no alcohol served - restaurant staff not very smiling and not very attentive, kind of bored - table cloths /even if dirty/ only changed if you ask for it /and probably tip a bit as usual in in Zanzibar/ - beach boys yelling in to address you from the beach /at least they cannot enter/ - service in the hotel is pretty bored not enthusiastic at all - it’s not 4 star but an okay 3 star accommodation in our view

I loved the entire stay, friendly staff, we got in early, they checked us In quickly, the property is Gorgeous and well kept. I loved the morning complimentary breakfast and complimentary dinner on the beach.

hotel was cozy and friendly. Room was clear and stuff was always helpful. We prefer smaller hotels with good romantic atmosphere what we got in this place.

We stayed at Smiles Beach Hotel for 10 nights and really enjoyed it. The staff was great and very helpful. From what we saw, the location is among the best in Nungwi, with a stunning beach right in front of the hotel. Nungwi Village is very close too, as well as many restaurants. All in all, we loved it and would definitely come back.

to book a stay at Smiles on booking.com there is only available half board. So we got breakfast and dinner. Breakfast food was not good at all, the food was the left overs of the previous night, 2 types of fruit and bread with butter. Dinner was even worse. they gave us this set menu so you cannot choose what you would like to eat and the food was starter mushroom soup / green salad with 3 small pieces of feta cheese, main course was calamari fritti ( you get 6 small rings, chips & salad ) or spaghetti with bolognese salsa and chicken bits in it. & for desert dry mango cake or dry chocolate cake. it was a disaster because we paid a lot of money to have a nice meal even though we complained nothing happened. Also there is NO ALCOHOL being sold so no beer / wine / cocktails to enjoy the beautiful beach. No entertainment or music during dinner. Its a pity to have a nice location for a good touristic vacation and just leave it there to rot. At night its dead. A lot of people that we made friends with complained on the food and on the environment how it is dead, dark and dull. This is a very expensive hotel for nothing.

location is great, very close to nungwi main beach where there are many restaurants and activities , yet the hotel area is quite and relaxing.

The location is excellent. Removed from the main bar/restaurant area so the noise doesn't bother you in your room but close enough to walk 5 min and get a drink where all the people are. Great beachfront view from the rooms, the pool and the restaurant. The staff are chill but responsive.

It's a halal hotel so there is no alcohol at the restaurant. There are many bars/restaurants in the area though.

Great hotel which consists of beautiful two-story villa houses with two rooms on each floor. The room is of good size with a big bathroom featuring a jacuzzi-style bathtub. The bed is huge and very comfy with a mosquito net available. The staff also comes to spray for mosquitos each evening. We really enjoyed the hotel premises which are quite large and the friendly restaurant and security staff (Maasai). There's a pool and a private beach territory. There are some beachboys passing in front of you, but most didn't cause too much annoyance. This hotel is tucked a bit further from the main Nungwi beach (which is an advantage because it's quieter/less crowded here) and you can walk to the main long sandy beach in like 5 minutes.

The property originally billed me several months ahead of my stay and upon check-out said that I didn't pay and that they can't find my payment. This resulted in a quite gruesome 2-hour investigation with the manager who had little visibility into how the payments are processed in the hotel and a number of expensive calls abroad (Booking, my bank, etc). Eventually, they did locate my payment the next day by going to their bank branch. But I believe that the upper management should do a better job with proper payment processing and not force guests to spend hours proving that they have paid for their reservation beforehand because it's them, not Booking.com who's handling payment processing. So if you paid in advance, be upfront about this during check-in and get a confirmation from the staff to avoid such unsavory surprises during checkout.

Thee night and morning prayers are disturbing, the Wi-Fi stability is weak, the breakfast buffet is somewhat limited, the intrusion of "sellers" walking the shore is sometimes disturbing

we had halfboard included and unfortunately the breakfast was poor. Not much to choose from. The dinner was also a little poor. there was a menu to choose from which looked great but the food however was a bit tasteless.

Really nice place to stay with more open atmosphere nicely set up. With more activities like swimming pool, volleyball with a proper net. Amazing view. Nice and quite and Alcohol free. Very much relaxing with nice sea views. Also very good for couples and family. Well recommended.
