We felt warmly welcomed. Owner has turned on heater before our arrival. You could tell the owner has put in a lot of thought, effort and love into the property as there are hand-drawn map for penguin watching, a story for their throne chair and little stick-on messages everywhere for friendly reminders…

We brought our own food and were delighted that all the conveniences were there for us to use, including kettle, toaster, cooktop, fridge and crockery etc. There was also a well equipped laundry.
The advertisement stated that there was a double bed and a single bed in the bedroom, however the single bed was a trundle bed on the floor and as we were 3 older ladies none of us were able to get down on the floor to use that bed. Perhaps this could be made clearer when advertising this unit.

Very nice view of the ocean and just a 2 minute walk to the beach. The little penguins actually stay below our apartment during night time. The rooms are large enough with most of the amenities available. Overall a comfortable stay.

close to beach with beach access, key pick up was seamless, car park right outside the room, making access easy. inside the room was classy, clean and comfortable. Bed was cosy, shower warm and had a feeling of home to it. view out the window of the beach and ocean was top notch, one of the best of Bicheno.
The TV needs an upgrade, but there’s something nice about not watching one on holiday isn’t there?

The decor and view exceeded our expectations. The room was very well laid out to store bags etc. We would highly recommend this accomodation if you want a great place to stay and don't mind a short drive into town.

Lovely and clean room with a beautiful view of and access to the beach. Really cosy (loved the little nook by the window) and the heater was great for the cold nights! I saw so many penguins at night around the apartment :) such a unique and unforgettable experience! The owner is also very helpful, providing a whole folder of recommendations, and remaining communicative throughout the stay. Checking in and out couldn't be easier.
It's quite easy to miss the turn in to the parking lot as the lane is pretty narrow and not very obvious, but I got used to it :) the room is well-equipped w a toaster, cutlery etc, but would have appreciated a microwave. Other than that, everything was amazing!

- Accommodation was really big, clean and homely!
- Kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed
- Washing machine and dryer was really useful as well!
- Bathroom was well equipped.
- Bed was huge and comfortable with heater blanket to keep us warm in the cold weather.
- Shane was really prompt with answering all our queries during our stay. Appreciate it!

No reception, used a lock box to get keys, very easy. All the details were communicated very clearly from the owners. Carpark was right out front. The location is idyllic. The place had all the amenities, and the shower was standard with good hot water. As a surprise, we found you could access the beach from a private walkway and it was lovely. We stayed past sunset and was able to see a penguin returning to nest. The clear night made star gazing absolutely amazing.
The only downside to our stay was the bed mattress, it was quite poor. Was unable to get comfy to sleep well. But all other aspects of our stay were superb.

we were in the one bedroom. It was quirky but adequate for our needs. It was clean and comfortable. Location was good. The host was very generous in helping us when partner locked the keys in the room.
