The location is stunning! Amenities are basic but enough for my needs. Amanzi Empilo Bungalow has a rustic charm, but still provided for a comfortable stay.

The manner of heating water is old fashioned and takes too long (donkey)

The setting of the cottage was stunning, but we arrived at night in a rainstorm, and walking up a steep flight of stairs in the pitch dark and trying to carry luggage was difficult. Next time we will try to get there in daylight! The lighting was solar powered and ran out before bed time, but LED lamps had been supplied as a backup. Living without "modern conveniences" was amazingly relaxing and enoyable. Hot water was available from an excellent donkey boiler at the strike of a match! I loved the solitude. My only visitors were a mongoose and a swallow.

The fridge was not working, and we had brought food with us that needed cool storage. There was a gas-fired freezer available, which served a similar purpose provided we remembered to switch it off periodically. I would have liked to have been warned in advance, so that we could plan accordingly. We also misjudged the distance, or the time it would take to travel to Rhodes, given the state of the roads. Should have enquired before.

Location is fantastic. The bungalow is located on the Bell River. Views are magnificent and the best part is the silence
