Die Lodge liegt an der Straße auf einem Hügel über halb des wunderschönen Örtchens Matlock. Wenn einem der Hügel auf dem Rückweg nicht stört, kann man zu Fuß in den Ort gehen. Parkplätze sind genügend vor dem Haus vorhanden. Lauter historische Häuser. Auch die Lodge ist ein zauberhaftes altes Gebäude. Wir wurden bei der Anreise sehr freundlich empfangen. Die Dame zeigte uns das Zimmer und empfahl uns lauter gute Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Zimmer war liebevoll eingerichtet, mit frischen Blumen und Süßigkeiten und einem riesigen Bett.
Zum Frühstück bekommt man eine Karte mit verschiedenen Variationen zum auswählen. Marmelade, Joghurt , Säfte und Obstsalat stand immer zu freien Verfügung.
Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt!
Für meine persönlichen Bedürfnisse war die Matratze etwas hart, mein Mann hingegen fand es sehr gut, Ansonsten können wir nichts negatives sagen!!!! Wenn wir wieder in der Gegend sind, kommen wir gerne wieder!!!

We were offered a multi choice breakfast, everything we had yoghurt and very fresh fruits followed by scrambled eggs and smoked salmon excellent and generous.
Room was fine not large but more than adequate Furnishings fresh and tasteful. Shower room clean and well maintained, towels lovely and fluffy.
II would have preferred a slightly softer pillow but not enough to complain.

Ziz was an amazing host, her breakfasts were amazing and delicious, her homemade jams, marmalade and bread were to die for. Our stay was like staying in a 5 star hotel. We would definitely recommend Sheriff Lodge as somewhere to stay. It's located near to so many attractions including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, the town of Bakewell to name a few.

We enjoyed our stay at this charming house, Ziz was a very helpful host, sharing her local knowledge and arranging tickets for Chatsworth House for us. Breakfasts were lovely, lots to choose from and very well presented. Sheriff Lodge is within walking distance of the town, walking back up the steep hill afterwards was a bit of a challenge!
It was a little chilly in the evening, so a small heater in the room would have been useful. However we didn't request one and one might have been provided if we had.

Sheriff Lodge is lovely and so was our room Breakfast was great, and it is just a 3 minute walk to Matlock town Ziz was very welcoming and helpful. Thank you we had a very relaxing stay.

Fantastic stay, absolutely loved it. The breakfast was fab, and had the best eggs benedict ever!
Our rooms were great, and so clean and loved the bed, slept like a baby. The garden was lovely and enjoyed coffee in the morning, and were lucky with the weather. Handy location and short walk to Matlock. Highly recommended and would stay again.

Host Ziz was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. A central but quiet location and the room was large and airy, very clean and comfortable. There was a good variety of breakfast options in an easy setting.

It was very cosy and welcoming with all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was delicious both mornings. Our room was really nice and clean with a great bathroom. It was very handy to have a parking space and only a short walk into Matlock.

The room was beautifully decorated and and spotless. Couldn't have wanted anything more, there were lots of lovely touches. Breakfast was excellent, so much choice and everything was fresh and delicious. The host was warm and friendly and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. An added bonus was the electric car charge point which is available at the property. A beautiful guest house in a beautiful part of the country- you really can't go wrong- would definitely recommend this gem.
I really can't think of a thing that I was disappointed with.
