Thommysminde is a very nice place to stay with family to train riding and have treatment with horses or to see 4 goats :) Calm village area, free parking and children playground is additional benefit :)

Shared toilets and shower are not so private and comfortable but it is whole Denmark problem...

Beds did not have sheets. This was not communicated, nor was this clear from the booking.com site.

Children loved the playground, and watch horses. The shared kitchen has plenty of dishes and cups with huge tables. We had breakfasts and one dinner there. Bed sheets should be asked and put on beds yourselves. It's a family-friendly, youth-hostel style accommodation, where the cleanness and convenience are not exceptional but enough, and there is basically everything you need. Very good price-value balance. Legoland, Jelling (world heritage site) and Vejle town (lots of restaurants and bars) are about 25 min distance with a car.

There was no hairdryer. It provides basically 1 small shower room shared with 3 rooms. But it was organizable. You must need a car to get there and buy food. No restaurants and supermarkets around.

Very spacious room with a nice bed. We stayed here overnight while traveling through. Visited the Lego house during our stay, which was only half an hour away. Cozy between the horses and nice staff.

Really on of the best stays where my expectations were exceeded! It is very Cozy and clean, bathroom and kitchen are available, in general place is quiet and excellent value for the money! Apart of the facilities in the very apartment we enjoyed nice playground and communication with animals - horses, goats, dog and an outstanding cat!

Nothing. In general the location is slightly detached , so the cafes and shops are in Jelling. It is NOT an issue if you are on the car or have the bike.

Great place, peaceful and clean; very friendly host. The room was super big, the beds comfortable. Playing area for children was very nice. Horses made this stay wonderful and exciting for my children :)

in contrast to other accomodations, it was nog clear to me the sheets and towels were not included. take jersey sheets for the matress, because the adult beds are really big.

Thommysminde is a privately-owned youth hostel with attached horseback riding school. We made our own breakfast while the owner's mother cleaned the large, well-outfitted kitchen, and we watched interestedly, as15 people opened and spread what looked like bales of cotton. I enjoyed meeting a Jysk father who was there to help resurface the indoor horsetrack. We had been warned about flies in the booking.com listing, so I can't complain about the 2 mosquito bites I got while sleeping in bed. The shower is strong and there are multiple toilets with motion sensor lighting and paper towels. Coffee is available for purchase. Each unit has its own outdoor table and chairs. I asked a Norwegian guest whether he and his family had slept well, and he said no. I'm assuming that was because the baby woke them during the night, not because of the modern, spacious accomodations. We went on to miss the spacious rooms, firm plentiful beds and the respectful, friendly deference the equestrian family treated us with at Thommysminde.

The booking.com listing does not spell out that guests have to bring sheets, comforter covers, pillow cases and towels or rent them for $10.50/night. Adding an extra $42.00 to the bill for linens and towels decreases the overall value they offer, so we inconveniently hauled 16 otherwise unneccessary items of bulk in our small Ford for the entirety of our 8-day vacation. We first learn to bring linens and towels from a message the diligent owners sent confirming our stay. The window was propped open allowing insects in when we arrived. I used a kitchen spatula to kill flies, but couldn't see the mosquitoes who eventually bit me. I recommend future guests bring a fly swatter and a fan.
