We had a great week and if we travel to Italy again, I will definitely book here again.

Hervorragende Unterkunft

Remote
So 1st off the homeowner is great and the place is wonderful. But it's way off the beaten path and the roads are very hilly and a little scary to drive. We had teenagers and they were so bored. For adults who like wine it's a good fit. Also it's 4 levels so all stairs. There is one bedroom on the first level that my mother liked. If Europe was not having a heat wave it would have felt much more comfortable but it was very hot and no fans. So for us not such a good fit but if you want remote wine country it's perfect and it sleep a lot of people.
Amazing views and countryside.

A beautiful place to stay
This house is beautiful and has everything needed for a quiet stay not too far from Orvieto. The store in the square is wonderful and so are all of the people.
Four families were very comfortable in the house and the owners are great to work with.
This was well beyond our expectations and worth every Euro!

Umbria is a fantastically lovely country and much less expensive than the Tuscany. We were in love with Orvieto, fascinated with Civita Borgnario and found Todi charming. From Prodo (although a beautiful but curvy road to get there) all the major hill towns were less than an hour and a half. Montepulciano is one of my all time favorites. Florence and Rome are less than 2 hours by car and an easy trip by train from Orvieto. Cortona was about an hour from Prodo going the back roads through Perugia. Lovely, picturesque country, friendly, helpful people. .

Roberto’s house in Prodo was the highlight of our family trip to Italy. We’re a group of 13, traveling from Colombia & USA. The house was spaceous & beautiful & the morning coffee at Franco’s store was memorable. Roberto set up a dinner at the house, by Chef Gian Piero, who was amazing!! The aged prosciuto, carved on site, the roasted pork roll, and the amatricians pasta were delicious. A very special dinner in a very special & warm setting. We did day trips to Orvieto & Todi, and arriving at the Prodo house for a relax evening was just perfect!!
We’ll forever remember Prodo, Roberto, Gian Pero & Franco!!

Ho festeggiato qui i miei vent’anni. Posto meraviglioso!

Casale molto pulito e spazioso. Eravamo in 18 persone e siamo stati veramente bene.

Prodo is a wonderful, very small town up in the hills of Umbria not far (in distance) from Ovietto or Purergia- and only a ittle more than an hour train ride from Rome or Florence.
BUT! It is a world apart from all the traffic and commotion of those big cities.
The house was very peaceful, and comfortable, and the owners were very welcoming and helpful.
BUT! It was the little village and the people who live there that made our trip the most unforgettable trip we've ever taken!
Words can not describe the feeling of waking up to look out the window at beautiful rolling hills and freshly plowed black earth surrounded by trees just bearing their autumn colors, and hearing absolutely no noise- just peacefulness.
Then walking 'two doors down' to the tiny cafe/bar where the owner made us delicious espresso and saved a crescent for us every morning. He came outside and set it down on a table that he would pull into the middle of the tiny village road under the morning sun, and we would watch as the villagers would come and buy an apple or a loaf of bread or a box of pasta- always stopping to say hello and happliy chatting about the village news.
We were fortunate enough to be there on the day that 'Wild Boar Hunting Season' began. It was like watching a beautiful film as the hunters drove up to the village with their hunting dogs in tow. And all the villages gathered round to hear what had happened to them each day- and then try excitedly to repeat it to us.
We were there for only 3 weeks, and we speak very little Italian, but we made some very good friends. (One, Angelo, even brought us his special pasta (twice), and stayed to have dinner with us! He even brought his sister one time, And it was absolutly wonderful!)
Another time, a little boy, Ricardo. was visiting his 'Nonno,' and of course, they stopped at the cafe. Ricardo was 4, and he spoke no English, yet he sat and 'talked' to me for over a half hour!
I could go on and on about the village and the people who lived there, but words could never convey the feeling that little Prodo left us with.
I've been home now for a couple of weeks, and life here is just as chaotic as when we left. I try to find time each day to sit and close my eyes and go back to the peace and quiet of Prodo- if only in mind.
I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to really relax and go back to a time when computers and phones weren't as important as everyday life with your neighbors and friends.

Casa Prodo Relax was a lovely large house with 6 big bedrooms, a games room and a large basement kitchen opening into a small back garden. It was very clean and all linens etc were provided. The owner was very helpful and when the toilet went wrong we reported it to the owner and it was fixed the same day. The village was quiet with a little cafe / shop and the villagers were really friendly. We had 4 cars between us and were all able to park next to the house. Prodo is halway between Orvieto and Todi, each was about 20 mins drive down really bendy roads. It was a great location (as long as you have a car) as we went out everyday - there is loads to do in Orvieto and although it is a tourist destination it is much nicer and less crowded that Florence or Siena. There is also a big supermarket in Orvieto near the station.
We were a group of 17 - all various family members and we all managed to fit into the house very well. The children loved the games room and there were enough bathrooms to go around. There is a covered outside area with tables and chairs - not huge but big enough to sit outside and enjoy the very good view. There is a nearby grotto with pools in which you can swim (20 mins hard walking but worth the effort) we also went swimming in Lake Bolsena which was 20 mins the other side of Orvieto. We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend the property.

We had a great week at Prodo in the beautiful house of Roberto and Stefania. We were a group of 6 and the house was spacious enough. We even had rooms we didn't use. The kitchen with the large dining-table is great; you feel like an Italian family cooking, eating and laughing together. Outside there is a bbq, to use with either coals or real wood. The outside place has a beautiful view to the valley. The picture on the website certainly are underestimating the place.
We fell in love with the village, their people and this house.

"We spent 12 wonderful nights in this beautifully decorated, spacious house. The house has been renovated in such a way that it retains the charm of an older home but provides all of the modern conveniences one could want. The kitchen is large and perfectly equipped. There is a large dining table so that cooking and eating in - which we did often - is easily accomplished and very enjoyable. The location is perfect for exploring the lovely towns of Umbria - and Tuscany and Lazio are within driving distance. The town is charming with its castle and small church and Alberto, at the cafe/bar just steps away, makes wonderful espresso and cappuccino. Roberto and Stefania are kind, thoughtful and generous hosts. Highest possible recommendation

Beautiful place in the heart of Umbrian region...We stayed second time here and hope not last! Our live in old house after renovation between two famouse cities (Orvietto and Todi) was exciting and amazing (walking, climbing, journing). The house was big with 6 sleeping rooms and large kitchen! And surround - hills, rocks, brooks and a lot of forest! But without car there- never! may be with bicycle!
The owner - Mr.R. - promised to drink a bit with us, but could't! We hope next time!

"We had a fantastic stay at the Prodo Relax Casale. Roberto was extremely gracious and we found the house spotless and very well appointed with everything we needed in the kitchen to host all 18 people in our group. The house was large enough to make us all feel very comfortable and I''m still amazed that all four families, plus a grandmother and aunt were able to sleep very comfortably and the bathrooms were always available. Everything worked perfectly, including the use of the barbeque outside which we used almost every night. The little village of Prodo was very hospitable, and we often visited the cafe/corner shop. We were luck enough to find the owner of the Castle at home also, and she graciously invited us for a private tour of the grounds and inside. The house was exactly what we needed for a week of relaxation with our family from the U.S., and perfectly located for visiting sites un Umbria, Toscana and Lazio. I recommend it highly!!!"

"This is a beautiful house. Very comfortable and spacious! It is the perfect location for bigger groups of people. We were there with our friends to celebrate my 40th birthday and everyone was very impressed with the standard of this accommodation. It is even nicer than the photos on the website. The village itself is very small and offers one the chance to experience Italian country life. The locals were very friendly and one man even brought us fresh figs from the tree in his garden as they were the best figs in the village!
There is so much to see and enjoy in the area such as Orvieto, lake Bolsena, Todi and Spoleto. We also did a day trip to Rome - we simply parked our car in Orvieto and took the train which only took around an hour to the centre of Rome. We had a wonderful day in the city but in the evening it was so nice to come back to a big house in such tranquil surroundings and enjoy wine we had bought from one of the many local vineyards. The owners Stefania and Roberto are the nicest people you could meet - so helpful - and should you need anything, they are only a phone call away. We would definitely recommend this accommodation and we hope that we will return with a group of friends some day soon.

"We were four families with 8 adults and 8 children. The house worked for us perfectly. Because of our configuration of adults and kids, some of the boys slept outside in a tent, which they were happy to do. We ate outside under the grape arbor for every meal. The location was gorgeous. The swimming hole was freezing, but the kids wanted to go all the time. While at the house, several families took day trips to Orvieto, Todi, Assisi, Lake Bolsena and Rome. We enjoyed the underground caverns in Orvieto, and I particularly enjoyed the fresh apricot gelato. We will gladly recommend this house to all of our friends."
