We also had to go out and buy trash bags, as there were no back-ups provided. The thermostats took a day or two to figure out as well, with complaints of too cold on lowest level and too hot upstairs. Clearer instructions should be available so that it doesn't seem overpriced due to a lack of sleep.

Floors were all hardwood but when they were done, the kitchen was left with about a half inch difference from the great room - perfect balance beam for kids but not so much for adults. We did not have instructions to get the pellet stove going in the lower level so it was a little chilly. There was leak in the master bedroom that showed up with all the snow melting and the humidifier in the lower level needs to be watched as it overflowed during the night. Or at least let the renters know so we can keep an eye on it. Looked like it had happened before as the floor was already showing signs of buckling. Too bad as the floor looked newer and was nicely updated. The entrance with the snow and mud was muddy and quite the mess. Not good with uploading cars but the garage was a better option to keep the mud down when we loaded up to go home. The backyard is gorgeous and we were actually able to have a fire on our ski trip - quite the rarity! Overall, nice view and land but house needs some TLC.

We would not stay at this property again, not up to Taylor Made standards.

Several of the sink/shower drains were not working properly and we did not enjoy standing in our own shower water, or waiting for the sink to drain in the master. The TV in the main room was not working properly and kept cutting out. This must not have been a problem with the service, but the TV, as all of the other TVs were working. We had to go downstairs to watch the football game on Christmas day and would have preferred to stay upstairs. My daughter's bathroom had dirty towels hanging on the back of her bathroom door when we arrived. Evidently someone tried to start the pellet stove with paper before our visit, because it had stuff in the bottom of it. No paper around to start the fireplace. It would have been nice to have more than 1 trashbag and toilet paper, luckily I brought toilet paper but didn't know I had to. The windows were rather dirty. The large dining room table needs to be replaced -- I would have been afraid to set a heavy dinner on it (bowed in the middle). It left a bad impression to drive up and see the column on the front of the house look like someone ran into it and that it was about to collapse. I'm normally not a complainer, but these little things made it just not as nice as a prior experience we had renting a house in Deep Creek.

Reviewer Comments: I arrived by GPS a few hours prior to check in and went directly to the house. Nobody was there so I peeked in the windows. No Housekeeping and the beds were a mess and unmade. I went to the rental office to make a copy of my drivers license as required. The lady was not very pleaseant and told me i was not to be there until 4 pm. I think she could have been nicer. I asked for a local map of attractions and they said they didnt have anything and to go to the local chamber of commerce. It would have be a great assistance to provide this for visitors of their properties. The house looked amazing on the website, but the quality of the house construction was fair at best and the furniture looked to be purchased at some bargain basement, very disapointed overall. Both outside doors would not close on their own and the wind would slam them open in the night. Towel rack was broken and if you need WIFI to do some occasional work, better bring your own as the WIFI worked an average of an hour a day during the entire 5 days.

Bedrooms pretty good, but one of the beds was very loud when you sat on it and another bed was pretty hard. Outside of house needs a good pressure wash. Kitchen pretty good; bathrooms good. Fridge did not work when we arrived but they had someone come out on Sunday and fix it. Great response time. Overall, a pretty good house and we had eight people.

Reviewer Comments: We love coming to the lake and Over the Rainbow has always been our destination, however, we are starting to question the value of our choice. The house needs attention. The entrance is in bad shape, the patio furniture has many broken chairs and hasn't been replaced in more than 10 years (cushions too). (We actually purchased the brown lawn chairs that are at the house several years ago.) There isn't one pot or pan in the kitchen that doesn't have the surface chipping off or damaged; the grill is in bad shape too. Every year, we say we will not rent this property again, but we have hoping that improvements would have been made and because we have become so familiar with the house over the years. I think the house has reached the point where the price is longer in-line with its value. The family memories made each year are priceless, but we will search for another property to rent.

Having the lake at your doorstep is great, as long as the public dock isnt too crowded. It was a little weird to see strangers and their kids and dogs running through parts of the yard in order to access the dock but that's the only downside to the location. Would have been nice if the cover to the hot tub and chairs for the deck had been cleaned off from bugs, spider webs and pollen before arrival, but nothing we couldn't do ourselves. Id suggest bringing your own wine glasses, as there were only 2-3 in the house, but again nothing major. Overall the house is better than the photos and is a comfortable getaway spot.

We were all disappointed that the house was not as nice as the pictures display it to be. The house needs some repairs and updates. We were most bothered by the inconvience of a septic backup into the basement shower while someone was in there getting ready for the day. We had to leave the house while they worked to repair it as we were unable to use any water, very inconvient!!!! Especially since there were 3 pregnant women staying there. I would not recommend this property.

The amenities of the home made everything easy; plenty of pots and pans. Did lack hot mitts and potholders, but that's the only negative we could find. T-MV were extremely prompt (less than 20 minutes) to replace a blender one evening. The location was just perfect. Fishing off the dock was fun with plenty of catches. The property was clean and well-maintained. Our favorite spot on the property was the deck. The key code entry/call-in made the arrival process VERY easy, as was the call-in for departure; much easier than picking up/returning a key. This year's gift of a small soft cooler was most appreciated. The location is just perfect - lots of sun and shade with the most perfect view of the lake. This was one of our best vacations homes in which we have stayed.

Had many rain storms and with the mud driveway i hates leaving the garage entryway dirty but there was no way to clean up betrer than a push broom once the driveway muck dried.

Plenty of space and an exceptional view of the lake. We were very impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was with anything and everything you would need. The only thing that was missing was an oven mitt. It was a very easy rental process and all staff we encountered were very professional and courteous. We were there during the snow on President's day weekend and had concerns about getting out of the driveway. When I called the office they arranged for someone to come and plow the driveway for us the day after the snow! That is excellent customer service! I highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed!

Pluses are the house layout, house decor, proximity to and view of the lake, cleanliness, and the amenties (especially the pool table and two fire pits). Minuses are the highway noise from across the lake and the large number of spiders outside that needed cleaning (though the latter may be true anywhere). Overall the accommodations and amenities were excellent, and we recommend this place.
